Nice & pleasant staff. Room was less nice. No dresser!!! Bed was comfortable. and despite having a room fronting Ocean Dr., the noise was not a significant factor. I've been to South Beach and have stayed at the Park Central and now The Congress! This time I came with my girlfriend for a 3 night stay. The Congress is well worth the money!!! There are 4 buildings! When the bell boy took us to our room, the outside appearance of our building was not appealing but upon entering our room, we were astonished! SO BEAUTIFUL!! […] MODERN! PERFECT! We stayed in the Junior suite which had a kitchen(stove, fridge w/ freeze, pots, pans, plates, utensils, etc) a living room area, bathroom with a big tub and a plush bed! The room also had a balcony! The main building has a rooftop pool with a bar which we enjoyed very much! The location is PERFECT! Right in the middle of Ocean Dr!! I HIGHLY recommend staying here! Terrible front desk service (plan on waiting!) and lots of hidden fees you won't find out about until you get your credit card statement. Plan on paying for someone to take you outside of the hotel to find your room (just in case you venture out to find it yourself they have conveniently locked a gate with a key code that the front desk doesn't give […] you! And don't forget the resort fee of $12.50 per day per person! Parking is $35./per day. Quickly adds up to $100 extra per night. The hotel is in a fun and rowdy neighborhood and convenient to the beach, people watching, and sobe nightlife. We went with our kids (6 and 8) for two nights and had a good time. The hotel was so bad we left early. There are many fees besides $35 valet that took 20+ mins. and resort charge that are a surprise upon check-in. It costs $25 if you don't return all room keys and $100 if you check out early among other things. Hotel manager was arrogant and not helpful about our room even though I had requested quiet room on reservation. […] There was loud music from restaurant below, car horns & sirens until 2am. The next day we switched rooms and was quieter, but the most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept on - barely a sofa bed mattress. Couch was extremely uncomfortable too. You could feel bar supporting the thin cushion on both. The bathtub faucet had a major leak, you could see crumbs at the base of cabinets, something nasty was spilled on the floor and our room wasn't vacuumed on second day. It was worth the $100 penalty to leave this hotel and stay at the Marriott. Read more

Funny how everyone points out the noise issue. Well, duh. The Congress Hotel is a decent spot. The rooms are big with a kitchen and dishwasher. I had some issues that I pointed out to the staff upon check-out and they were very cordial and apologetic. They waived my resort fee and took care of some honor bar stuff. My main complaint was a crumby fitted […] sheet on the thin mattress that would peel up at night. One morning I awoke with my face on raw mattress. Eeew. I think that Congress is trying to do better. Great location staff was nice and helpful. Lots of restaurants in the area and right across from the beach on Ocean Blvd. Great walk (1 mile) to Lincoln Ave with shopping and really fantastic restaurants. I recommend both Paul's and Balan on Lincoln blvd, Lincoln Blvd is closed to traffic which makes it a great place to hang out!

i proposed to my girlfriend on the beach right across from this hotel. it was perfect and romantic! This hotel is right in the middle of all the hotspots if that is what you are looking for. I went for a jog on the boardwalk while my fiancé relaxed on the beach in the early afternoon.. it was very relaxing… like paradise. there is, however, music blaring […] all day and night from the restaurants underneath the hotel, so please keep in mind that this is not the quiet type of hotel you might be looking for. Also, the shower is very cool looking, but it is incredibly strange, and the water pressure is very low. The kitchen was amazing, with lots of room for your own groceries; equipped with microwave, stovetop, etc… there is not much closet space, not much countertop space in the bathrooms, and the balcony view was blocked by the 3 other neighboring buildings. remember to lock your balcony door and not leave any valuables on the balcony, because any next door neighbor can easily hop onto your balcony! also, since we were there for New Years, Ocean Drive was completely blocked off, so cars/cabs could not access the street; that means that we had to get dropped off on a street corner with all out luggage/groceries and haul them up to our hotel on our own. all in all, the hotel was a great experience! i mainly recommend this for younger couples into the party/beach scene. We had a terriffic room overlooking the blvd. The staff was curteous and helpful. We stayed on a Friday night and the party doesn't stop till 4:00 or 5:00 am. So it can be a little noisy if you're a light sleeper. I'd stay here again.

The hotel is on top of the action and makes no attempt to shield guests from the noise and discomfort of the location. The rooms are getting old and the wear is showing. The valet staff were as nice as they could be but next time in South Beach I would pick a hotel a block off Ocean drive instead.

Avoid this hotel! Hotel is right on Ocean Drive which sounds great except you probably won't get any sleep because music from the street is heard at all hours of the day. Staff is very unprofessional, when the front desk person forgot my room key, he sent me up to the room with security and then left me waiting in my room for 45min. I had to call them […] twice to remind them I was stuck in my room without a room key! When security arrived the first time the key still didn't work, what a joke. On top of that at checkout they tried to charge me an extra resort fee and the uneducated front desk person began arguing with me instead of speaking with me like a normal person. Important: the resort fee is $12.50 PER PERSON, PER DAY. this is unusual and you get nothing for it. In addition they have to cancel a reservation 7 days in advance of your stay, again this is unusual. Oh, and there was black mold on the bathroom ceiling. Stay further north somewhere on collins avenue closer to Lincoln Rd., you'll have a more enjoyable time. Read more

Spacious room and an excellent location, right next to Lummus park. To the degree I interacted with the staff, they were friendly and helpful, especially the bellhop (I believe his name was Louis). The hotel itself seemed slightly run down, but it didn't impact my stay at all.

However, the glass doors all hand fingerprints all over, the chair in our room needed a deep clean, there was hair in our bath tub, and the pool was broken and looked as it had been for quite some time. The price I paid was way too much for this hotel. The front desk girl not very welcoming not rude but no smile. We arrived on ship at 8am we were at hotel at 11 but check in isn't until 4pm, the problem is they don't have any inside waiting area and it was raining out side so got wet. When I asked the front desk she stated they didn't have a waiting […] area and to check with a restaurant that is joined to hotel, but when we talked to restaurant they stated we needed to buy food to stay there which would have been fine but we had just eaten at a different restaurant. The futon which is suppose to be used by the extra guests was small my 13 and 19 yr old sons barley fit plus futon was very hard both my boys had body aches when they woke up. The sheets they had for the futon had so many white things that when my boys woke up the cloths they had on were full of it. Of course we couldn't see these on the sheets until the next morning when they got up and were full of them. Also bathroom only had two body towels called housekeeping and no answer, called front desk and housekeeping did come up very quickly but again not a smile out of them either. I also got charged $100 deposit fee, they stated it would get refunded after the resort fee was taken from it and it hasn't emailed them waiting for response. Room was nice with deep tub and various amenities like fridge. In an age of flat screen TVs I was surprised that our room had one about 12" across on the diagonal...so tiny. But, we were here for the beach anyway so no problem. Actually I found ocean drive not to be so interesting, but other nearby parts of south beach quite nice.
