The Mimosa Hotel

The rooms were clean. I bought coffee every morning at the coffee bar and was very good. You are on the beach but 5 miles from Douth Beach.

Cince I reached the hotel who was at the reception dealed with me by bad way without any reason. Moreove He tried to give me room like warehouse even though he had many rooms empty.

clean clean clean! loved the bathtub jets, I have a physical job and that was nice to rest in later in the day. There is a large hotel being built right next to this hotel so during the day it is extremely loud. This stops around 6pm. So if you want to go to the pool during the day, forget about a relaxing time. My room was ultra quiet because it was […] on the other side of the construction. I personally like hotel staff that doesn't feel the need to always talk to me but kind when i have a question and this is how The Mimosa staff is. I really liked that. This area of Miami beach is very nice. South beach is loud and chaotic, North beach , which is where this hotel is located, is quiet lovely. A great choice for a smaller hotel. Read more

Nicely located in the Miami Beach area. Took me several go-arounds to figure out where I could park. Staff was exceptional, recommended local restaurants and were generally in high spirits. Room was okay. There was no way to close my room off to the noise in the alley (dumpsters being open and shut). Fortunately, I am a sound sleeper, but this would […] have been troublesome if I did have trouble sleeping. Shower tiles were aged, but the room was fairly clean. Nothing special. Too much hassle for business travel, but maybe a good choice for a couple on a budget wanting to stay in the area. Safe and hospitable. Read more

The front desk staff is not only unfriendly, they are downright rude. They are fairly incompetent, also. They don't really strive to "go the extra mile" - they can't even manage the basics. There is NO climate control in the rooms. It's air conditioning "on" all the time. It was freezing in my room. This was never entirely rectified during my 3 night […] stay. The first time I mentioned it, I was told to climb up on a chair and close the air vents. After doing that (and having cold air still blow in), someone was sent to the room to put plastic strips on the vents. After that didn't seem to solve the problem, the manager/owner brought me an extra blanket for the bed. That was the solution. They have a coffee/breakfast service downstairs in the lobby every morning (for an additional cost). The meal portion was not impressive at all - all I ever saw anyone eating was wheat toast. It was scheduled at 8:00am, but I guess in South Florida time - that's more like 8:30am. So, one morning I went downstairs at 8:10am to get a cup of coffee (6oz. cup = $2.50!) and was told that it would be ready in another 10 minutes. An attempt to have coffee in my room was foiled when I went to pour the dried creamer packet into my cup of coffee and it fell out in one congealed lump. Back downstairs I went, and by this time, when I was finally getting my coffee (self-serve) - the small carafe emptied after 3 ounces making its' way to my cup. Read more
