Courtyard by Marriott Miami Beach Oceanfront occupies a building constructed in 1940. Although renovated, some of its Art Deco features remain, such as terrazzo floors and original columns. The hotel features a large sundeck that houses an outdoor pool, spa tub, and poolside bar. The oceanfront Surfside Tiki Bar serves appetizers and sandwiches for lunch and dinner, along with happy hour beverages. Guests enjoy the tiki bar's live music Friday and Saturday nights. Other dining options include The Courtyard Cafe, serving breakfast, and Carrabba's Italian Grill, offering dinner.

I feel that overall it was an ok experience, the hotel was old- but so is everything in Miami Beach and South Beach. I had […] to show three different people my Hotels.com booking information, then the manager (who was HORRIBLY rude) came over and said, well we won't have a room for an hour. They stated they would call in when the room was ready and put our stuff in valet. Three hours later we wondered back to see if we had a room as we received no call. Finally, we got into our selected room only to encounter a toilet full of human waste which began to overflow. And it took the cleaning crew about 30 minutes to get it going. After all that, the rest of the visit was good and the General Manager was an amazing help to us when we checked-out to our next destination. This hotel is a little distance from all of the action of South Beach which was nice for us because we were there for the sun! Cab rides were only $6 to all of the action. There is an extension being constructed on site. Around the pool, tiki bar and the ocean facing rooms, this is very loud and annoying, especially in the mornings. "A nice place with a bright furture"

If you are looking to visit South Beach without being in the middle of evertything this is your place. Although the rates were not wonderful for our stay (Oct 2010) they were better than the hotels located below 20th Street. Not much around the location other than Morton's steakhouse and a "shopping district" with shops that are never open. The pool […] area is nothing special but the beach is steps from the back door. Be prepared to spend $10 per item to rent chairs and an umbrella. The food at the tiki bar was below average, anything other than the hamburger was dry and a waste of money. But they do have HD TV's with DirectTV's Sunday's Ticket for your football fix. If you stay here be prepared to spend $10 per way for a taxi to Lincoln Rd. We stayed 1 night on our way to the Keys. The hotel looks like it was recently updated. The staff were all very nice and helpful. The cons....My husband did find some broken glass on the bathroom floor, the beach was beautiful, but not very clean. There was alot of garbage on the beach and in the water. You have to pay for chairs and umbrellas. The neighborhood was disappointing. Not the kind of place you could go walking at night. However, there is a walkway behind the hotel along the beach, where you can walk for a mile or so. You have to pay $27/day for valet parking unless you want to try to find your own spot - good luck with that. Overall, it's a good place for the 1 night stay. "Dont book Ocean front during construction!"
Beware! - I booked the hotel and paid a premium for the ocean front room. This was a mistake. I knew that the hotel was under construction but I was on the top floor facing the ocean and there was a building with construction workers 20 feet from my window blocking the Ocean view. Construction guys right outside the window, all day long. Had to keep […] everything closed. This was not disclosed and no alternative was offered by check in staff. The room I had should have been discounted, not a more expensive. The pool was completely closed and access to the beach was from the front doors. Very disappointed.
