Located along the northern stretch of Miami Beach, this oceanfront hotel is 3 miles from the upscale Bal Harbour Shops and 5 miles from South Beach's Art Deco District. Guests have direct access to a wide, sandy beach.
Hotel Features.
An oceanfront outdoor pool is surrounded by a spacious sundeck and private cabanas. The on-site Gilia's Restaurant serves Latin-American cuisine and fresh seafood, complemented by views of the pool and the ocean. The adjacent bar hosts bands, dancing, and karaoke on weekends. Guests can start the day with a Continental breakfast. Complimentary newspapers are available in the lobby. The business center offers printing and a computer with 30 minutes of complimentary Internet access per guest. Complimentary wireless Internet access is available in the lobby. An airport shuttle is available on request.

The 10-story New Casablanca on the Ocean offers 130 guestrooms with views of the Atlantic Ocean or Intracoastal Waterway. All have full-size refrigerators, stovetops, ovens, microwaves, coffee/tea makers, cookware, and dishes for four. All rooms are furnished with electric adapters (recharge stations) for iPods, cell phones, computers, and cameras. Bathrooms include shower/tub combinations, hair dryers, and designer toiletries.

"Very old hotel"

"Old, dirty, and unsafe."
The world famous Casablanca Hotel abandoned its opulence long time ago. We stayed at one of the “penthouses” with the “ocean view”. On the positive note the staff was friendly and the place we rented was very spacious. But, there are many negatives: • After we checked in, we found a stranger doing laundry in our room. The person had a key to the room […] and left without providing an explanation. The management could not provide an explanation either and decided to change the locks on the doors. • The room has a kitchen which came with a broken and smelly garbage disposal and complementary cockroaches. • The room itself is very specious but unattractive. Everything is old and in dire need of proper upkeep. • There was patio … with no patio furniture. • No working WiFi in the rooms. • There is a bar downstairs, where the only patron is the bartender himself. • As for free breakfast provided by the hotel … you are better off cooking something in that dirty kitchen. In summary the Casablanca Hotel is dirty and old looking, and the staff, although friendly, does not seem to care much about anything. A room at motel 8 would be an upgrade. We booked the hotel online for 3 nights with a baby with us. We checked in late night and found the beds being ages old, the spings were squakingly disturing and felt like we were playing jumping jack all night. TV was old fashioned CRT with horrible resolution. But the next morning when we requested front desk they were able to move us into a remodelled […] room with kind bed. This was the room that was similar to one shown online. Much cleanier and better bed. Location is close to the beach, 7-11 opposite to the road. That helped to get some stuff easily. I would say the hotel is away from South Beach where all the fun is, but we knew that in advance and also were aware that they charge $17 extra per day for parking. So overall, I would say its a good deal for the price provided you get the REMODELED room. Also check for prices on the last day. When we arrived there was no AC. We were given box fans. The fridge in the room didn't get cold. Even after maintence was called. There was limited ice. You had to get this from the front desk. Stayed during the 4th July holiday - family checking in before me (was not allowed to check in until 4:00 on the dot; hotel did not have parking space for them. "Bad"
This hotel gave away my room after I called and told them I would be arriving later inthe evening. I paid for a double ocean view and got a full size city view efficiency. This hotel was adequate for the price. It was a family hotel - there were lots of kids in the pool, and catered to the Latino community - I didn't hear a single person speak English as their mother tongue except us. There was no spa, which we would have liked. It was old. We were afraid the elevator might stop working. The rooms were clean and had a […] full kitchenette, including microwave, stove, oven, refrigerator, dishes, silverware, pots and pans. Hotel staff was marginal at best. They allowed other guests to cut in front of us when we were registering. They didn't have enough towels for the pool. I disliked only having valet parking, but I guess that's probably the norm in Miami Beach - would have liked to come and go as I please without paying a tip every time I got my car, not to mention the $17 per night for parking. "CASABLANCA - only for limited income families."
Stay 7/12-14/2010 I was looking for a hotel closer to the main shopping/restaurants areas in South Beach, but all the reviews for the boutique hotels in this area were horrible. I selected this hotel at the last minute due to several decent reviews. Since I did not know anything about the hotel, I only book for 2 nights and the other 2 nights were at […] the Hilton downtown, a location I was familiar with. Although the hotel was clean, it is very old and is a long ways from being a Hilton/Marriott property. FYI, the Hilton was cheaper. The rooms and bathrooms are very small, do not consider if you have a family of four and only if you have a very limited budget. Beds were small, I'm 6'3, not enough room. One good thing, this hotel has direct access to the beach with a walkway just outside the rear gate. Swimming pool is large and clean. Hotel provided towels to pool and beach. I liked how the hotel had direct beach access and we did have a nice room, it was in a great area. The hotel is in need of some renovations and upkeep. Our ceiling was cracked and had paint patches all over it. Our toilet got plugged and it took over 30 min for someone to come fix it after I had to call twice and then no one came to even clean up the […] bathroom so we had towels all over the floor. We stayed at this Hotel for 4 nights from the 29th Dec 2012 to the 2nd Jan 2013. Our room was on the 4th floor and we had a balcony, which was nice. The room was run down, and the carpets were dirty. The sliding door to the balcony didn't lock. The kitchen and bathroom needs upgrading. Across the hallway there were smoking rooms, so every time we opened […] our door our room smelled of smoke. We had a non smoking room. Every morning we had breakfast in the hotel restaurant, and the order got messed up every time! The internet did not work, and we couldn't get phone service in the hotel. Den fantastiska havsutsikten räddade semestern. Perfekt läge mitt på stranden. Rummet var väldigt lyhört, smutsigt, säkerhetsboxen var trasig och det var i princip stopp i avloppet i duschen. Det utlovade köket, som var insmetat med gamla matrester, bestod av en trasig spis, några krokiga bestick och en kyl/frys som stod någon meter från sängen och […] lät som en helikopter. Långa köer i receptionen och det kunde ta upp till en timme att få ut bilen ur hotellets parkering...bilarna parkerades och kördes fram av hotellets personal men de parkerade in våran bil flera gånger så att de fick lov att flytta alla andra bilar för att få fram våran bil. I relation till den prisnivå som hotellet har så är det ett helt ok hotell. Tämligen lugnt och väldigt bra läge vi beachen, med egen pool om så önskas. Absolut inget lyxhotell, men en bra standard även om det syns att hotellet inte är nytt. Dock pågår en renovering av ytskick etc. Området är trevligt med närhet till livsmedelsaffärer och bra lokala […] restauranger.
