The hotel is located in a nice area in South Beach, you can see all of the nightlife and stores are very close. The only complains I have about the hotel is the cleanliness and comfort. The shower curtains have some brown residue on them, the bed had hair follicles and the hotel smells............ really weird like old & musty, had to buy a can of glade […] to spray my room. The bedding could be more comfortable as you are lying on only a mattress. I would suggest getting mattress pads or something of the nature. "Too small!"
My husband and I booked this room for the weekend for a wedding we were attending. It was my first time in South Beach and the reviews seemed good. We have stayed in a lot of hotels and this by far was the smallest room I have ever seen. Our first room was the size of a closet with three white cement walls... I was so overwhelmed that I had to call […] the front desk to ask for a different room. Luckily they gave us an accessible room which was slightly bigger and the bathroom was three times the size... in that case they were very accommodating. The bed is horrible and they didn't clean our room until about 7pm. Otherwise, the hotel is in a great location and very clean. The breakfast is small but good quality. Our stay at the Townhouse was just OK. Meaning, it might as well been any old 3 star hotel. For what we were paying, I wasn't expecting an amazing room, but the experience could have been better. "Decent location but more like a student hostel"
Well I have to start by saying I think this was more of an upscale Hostel than Hotel.... which probably explained why it appeared to be a student and European favorite. The room was clean (and smelled of strong cleaning products to prove it) and had quite enough space, the bathroom however was TINY. Way too small for 2 girls to get ready. The vallet service took a realllllllly long time but the front desk was friendly and helpful. One of major downfalls is that come 7:30am it was impossible to get any sleep...loudest hotel EVER! There may have been construction outside with all the large trucks, dumping noises, and beeping (backing up trucks) that went on for 4 hrs in the morning. The walls and ceilings are so thin you hear everyone who gets up to go to the bathroom or anyone down below getting coffee or ice in the kitchen. Literally I was surrounded by noise! The Townhouse has all the elements to be really cool but they just miss the mark in several areas. All in all the service was friendly but poor. The front desk didnt follow up or forgot mutliple requests throughout or stay. Breakfast felt very budget and supplies were always low. The place is clean, the staff is nice, the rooms have what you need. If you're going to party and stay up all night and are looking for a decent, clean, close place to stay without having to spend over $130 bucks a night, this is a good place. I am having to replace an ipod which was taken from my room by hotel staff, no-one else was in my room the […] whole time. But overall I would recommend this place. My case probably was an isolated incident. It's a super clean hotel, and it's fairly close to all of the clubs, bars, restaurants your going to need. MAKE SURE you don't get a room facing Collin's Avenue unless you plan on passing out drunk everynight after 4am, because at least on the weekends they honk horns and scream like crazy on that street ALL NIGHT. "Great Location, Not a 3 star IMO"
This hotel is in a great location, right near the beach (though there is another hotel directly in front of it so you can't see the beach from your room, this was unexpected), a few blocks north of Lincoln road and everything else in SoBe. When you walk in, it's very white and clean looking. The hotel is older and it is quite noticeable when you get […] to your room (or even just ride the elevator and you'll see). The room we had was a little bigger than the cheapest one they offer I believe, but it was still pretty small, which was ok since we didn't plan to be in there much. The carpet in the halls is pretty dirty, luckily (or unluckily depending on how you look at it) there is no carpet in the rooms except a small rug under the end of the bed that was kind of dirty as well. The cement floor in our room had many large cracks in it. The furniture was simple which is fine, but the bed was awful! Our backs were hurting the whole time, the mattress is the most thin I've ever seen and the wood platform it was on is very rickety. The bathroom is quite small and the shower is very old and it shows, we wore sandals to shower because it didn't look so good in there. You do have a small fridge in the closet, but it's pretty small, but nice to keep water cold, not so good for leftovers, plus there is no microwave. The breakfast area is way, way too small! It's like they put a couple coffee makers, sink and cabinets in a closet, it's definitely like a walk in pantry so in the morning it gets pretty crowded and you may have to wait a bit before you can squeeze in to get your food. The breakfast was ok, nothing fancy but still decent, they offer muffins, croissants, bagels, hard boiled eggs, coffee, espresso and orange juice. The roof top lounge is neat, you get a good view of the city up there. The Bond St Lounge (restaurant downstairs) is a neat little sushi place that we'd been to before and we went again this time. The location is excellent for beach people - only a minute's walk! However as the hotel is next to Collins Ave it gets very noisy and this continues into the night (5am on one occasion!). That said, the hotel is outside of the really noisy area of Ocean Drive and maybe a 30 minute walk from there, so a good mix. The hotel is perfect, location very convenient,service even the bus for the airport (at 2,50$) is at 100 meters... But noise is a problem if you are not planning to stay out all night! The first night we were in room 201. The partking beside is noisy: it is were they dump all garbages and ....the empty bottles for recycling at 3 in the morning plus […] the motorbike at 4 etc. To our request, we were nicely relocated on the 4th at 402. Much quieter room ...except for the fact that is is facing the elevator. Das Hotel liegt nur unweit vom Oceandrive und das Hotelzimmer war eigentlich ganz in Ordnung, sauber und großzügig. Der Geräuschpegel des Zimmer ließ allerdings zu Wünschen übrig. Wir hatten ein Eckzimmer im ersten Stock und unter dem einen Fenster waren die Klimaanlagen der Lobby angebracht... die Klimaanlage des Zimmers war auch nicht die leiseste! Das Frühstück war eine echte Bescheidenheit, auch wenn es nichts extra kostet erwarte ich eigentlich schon etwas um auf die Bagels oder den Toast zu legen und nicht nur Cream-Cheese oder Jelly. Es gab kein Müsli, keine Früchte,oder auch keinen Joghurt. Naja, es wäre glaube ich einfacher aufzuzählen was es gab und nicht was es nicht gab... Helt greit opphold. Ble sjokkert over hvor nedslitt og urent det var. Mulig vi har vært veldig uheldig men det tok opp til flere dager før skitt i trappeoppganger, heis og gang til rommet ble vasket. Tepper på rommet var heller ikke ordentlig støvsuget og kommodeoppheng var skittent. Mye støy fra rommet over og privat fest på takterrassen med gjester […] som støyet til langt på natt. Dusjen lakk og den ble ikke fikset. Vi fikk heldigvis banket og vridd på den selv slik at den ikke ble stående å lekke. Zimmer zu allen Seiten sehr laut. Erstes Zimmer in Richtung Avenue: Straßenlärm, - zweites Zimmer in Richtung Innenhof: 24h-Dröhnung der Aircondition von den anderen Hotelbereichen. 3. Zimmer: ab 05:00 - 15:00 An- und Abfahrt von LKW's für dieses und die andere Hotels in dieser Strasse. Ständig wurde etwas verladen oder geliefert. Alle Zimmer hatten […] selbstgebaute Betten + Ablageflächen. Die Dusche war interessant konstruiert und wie in vielen amerikanischen Hotels dieser Klasse war der Duschkopf fest mit der Wand verbunden. Kein beweglicher Duschkopf. Ferneher und Gespräche aus den angrenzenden Zimmern waren zu höhren. Entspricht keinem 3* Niveau von Europa, höchstens 2. Die Penthouse-Zimmer sind im 5.Stock, der Lift fährt nur bis zum 4.Stock. Der Zugang zu diesen Zimmern ist zugleich der Zugang zur Rooftop-Bar! Und auch bei diesen Zimmern hat man bestimmt den selben Lärm wie in allen anderen Zimmern. Die Lage zum Strand war in Ordnung. Das Hotel liegt Nahe am Strand und ca. 10 Min. vom Ocean Drive entfernt. So mussten wir nie das Auto nehmen. Das Auto wurde vom Hotel irgendwo parkiert, wurde aber bei Bedarf innert 5 Min. vorgefahren. Das Frühstück war sehr gut. Man konnte richtigen Espresso und Cappucino haben, ABER es konnten nie mehr als 2 Personen in die seeehr kleine Küche gehen. […] Jeden Morgen ein Riesenandrang. Dem Hotel mussten wir 30 $ für 2 Liegestühle + 1 Schirm pro Tag zahlen. Am Strand hätte ich dasselbe für 25 haben können. Unser Zimmer war recht sauber, ohne Spannteppich.
