Over all suitable if used for sleeping only. Bed sheets had stains as did the towels. You can hear people in the next room load and clear not to mention the upstairs and hallway as well. I guess what you pay for here is position, and it is virtually on South Beach. But the hotel needs quite a bit of refurbishment. Cooking facitlites were in situ, but no pots and pans to cook with! At first I was disappointed when I saw the exterior of the hotel. But when I saw the entrance its far better than the outlook. The room was also good, clean and bathroom was clean also. "Alright for South Beach"
The Hotel experience was overall good. Staff was nice and helpful. The room was clean but the door of the bathroom was not closing properly and so we had to slam it to close it ...:-( The bathroom was clean but definitely need an upgrade- The mattress had a plastic protection under the sheet so it was also noisy when you were in bed and moving or tossing […] ;-) This is little minor things but sometimes they do make a difference :-) The most important the hotel was clean and we really appreciated the fact that they did not charge us for the 3rd person in the room !! "Good enough"
So if your used to staying at Super 8's and Econolodge type hotels, this place will do. If you dont ever think of staying at a place like that (which some are actually nice btw) then dont bother booking this hotel. It was clean and the lobby is nice, cheap continental breakfast (bagels, coffee, juice, pastries, toast), and internet access. Has a small […] outside balcony just outside the lobby. Smallest elevator ive ever been in though. Our room also had a small kitchen area (has plates and silverware and all lol) but I guess because the hotel is pretty old (but not gross old). Bathroom was ok- shower wasnt the best ive seen but I showered in it. We only were staying one night- it was cheap and clean and near a whole bunch of stuff. Right across the street is the bus for $2 to take you all over downtown Miami. there is also stuff within walking distance. And as for their website: 1. lobby is exactly as pictured 2. the only room pictured was very similar to ours- minus the view- the floors are not carpeted (i thought that was kind of weird- but we were not even a block from the beach-so think sand + carpet eh) 3. beach is super close along with the boardwalk of course 4. there was a restaurant downstairs and a small grocery store- didnt go in either tho 5. we had only one channel in english- CNN 6. all amentities listed are accurate (balcony in lobbby-not the room) Overall I wouldnt mind going here again- but only if we stayed a day or two Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Lorraine Hotel - Miami Beach"
This was our first night in Miami and wanted to stay on Miami Beach. The Lorraine Hotel has NO parking available to guests. They charge a cash deposit for incidentals but it's up to YOU to get it back when you check out. The continental breakfast consisted of a loaf of white Wonder bread and a toaster! "Not Impressed"
This hotel needs some job to be done to fix cracked ceilings and walls. It was very cold in our rooms. We asked hotel staff to make it, but it was not possible because there is only central air conditioner it this hotel which set up the same temperature in all hotel’s rooms. It was done nothing unless we covered ventilation doors with pieces cardboard. […] Several times they gorgot to put soap, shampoo and towels in our bath rooms. "For Traveler's on a Budget"
The Lorraine was a decent, cheap hotel. In this case, you get what you pay for. The free wifi, microwave, and refrigerator all come in handy but overall there's nothing lavish or luxurious about this hotel at all. If you're traveling with a group of friends and want a cheap room in south beach that's not amidst the hustle-and-bustle, this is a decent […] hotel to stay at. It's not really convenient to get to Ocean Drive (about a $10-$12 cab ride) but the beach is a very short walk from the hotel and the boardwalk is behind the hotel as well, which is nice. The cuban sandwich place downstairs has GREAT breakfast. Overall, I'd say if you're looking for a nice place to stay at, this isn't it. "Not easy to get a good sleep"
Have been there one night from Friday to Saterday and it has been some noise inside the hotel all night long. I woke up every 60 minutes or so to some other guests movements or voices. Es poquito viejo el hotel. La limpieza..bueno....En principio limpio, pero habian siempre muchos pelos en el banio especialmente sobre las toallas. Hacia un tremendo frio. El aire acondicionado no esta individual. No ser puede apagar ni variar la temperatura. Hacia mucho mas frio que afuera. Para mi opinion insoportable.
