Let me start by saying that you cannot beat the location of the San Juan.It is literally right in front of the Delano on Collins.Only one block away from Lincoln and its restaurants it is an ideal spot in South Beach. My stay was terrible, the hotel RIGHT OUTSIDE our window was being remodeled and construction started right at 6 a.m. The noise never stopped. "Rundown but clean, undergoing renovations"
This hotel was old and tired, but the rooms were clean. Our room had a renovated bathroom, but the rest of the room hadn't been updated yet. Renovations are currently underway, so if the accompanying noise and odors of paint aren't of concern to you, this hotel is a good value and in a very convenient location. i stayed at San Juan Hotel Labor Day weekend (2-6 Sept 11) and surprisingly, it was pretty descent. The room was clean, plenty of towels, cable tv including HBO, no hitting fees upon check-in other than a $30 deposit that you got back during check out. "San Juan Hotel- perfect location.. a great choice!"
The guy at the desk let us check in early, so that was nice. The walls were a little bit on the thin side, and the air conditioning was a bit too high....but aside from that, all was GREAT! we had room service that cleaned everything =) and there was a fridge and microwave that came in handy, as well as the small table with chairs and the ironing board […] and iron. the bed was decent, just a little lumpy, but 4 the price that I paid, San Juan surpassed my expectations. There was even a pool! - i didnt actually go to it, since I preferred the beach, but it was nice that they had one. Also it was not even a block away from, basically everything!!! so the location was awesome, and key to saving more money, cause no taxis were needed-except for the ride to and from the airport, which wasn't as far as i thought (probably 20 mins from the hotel). The room was big with a fridge and microwave. There was no hair dryer. Our hot water did not work, but someone came to fix it right away. The location was really great, especially for the price. The location of this hotel is very good and when we read the reviews before booking, most of the negative ones were about the car park which doesn't affect us. BUT... From when we arrived we did not have lights in the main bedroom area and this was not fixed during our stay after we reported it on the first night (we stayed 3 nights). AND on the final […] night we found fly larvae/maggots in the shower/ coming out of the walls in the bathroom. We reported this and a friendly man tried to help us and get rid of them but he didn't really have any idea of how to do this properly. We asked to use another shower as ours had clearly not been cleaned for the duration of our stay and goodness knows how long before but were refused. This put a dampner on our last night in Miami and over shadowed our other better experiences of miami. O ponto alto desse hotel é sua localização... situa-se na Collins, do lado da Ocean Drive e a 50 metros da Lincoln Road, o resto é muito mediano. Pelo segundo ano consecutivo me hospedo lá e posso dizer que é um dos mais baratos da região, porém o hotel está muito mal cuidado, as portas novamente sempre falham ao passar o cartão, hotel pouco iluminado, […] uns hóspedes meio que "estranhos" e a piscina é simples.. o que gostei foi que reformaram o banheiro. Fiquei 5 dias lá e só passaram para arrumar nosso quarto um único dia.
