San Juan Hotel

It is hard to beat the price and location combo of this hotel - few factors might be deal breakers for other travelers (no climate control on the room), but it is apparent that they are trying to make improvements and little aesthetic items don't bother me. The front desk people were very helpful.

The hotel was going through some remodeling so I didn't expect that I was going to be in tip top shape but it served its purpose. The beds wasn't comfortable, towels were rough, tv was old but the staff was helpful. I didnt expect much since the price was low enough to not mind those little things. Over all it's okay if your not a picky person.

The convenient location close to the Convention center and reasonable price motivated my choice. I arrived in the evening. The room had two non-functioning light bulbs entrance (1 of 1) and bathroom- (1of 3), and a missing bulb in one of the two bed lamps. They quickly took care of two lights. The switch for lights by the bed was missing from the […] lamp. Unplugging and plugging the cord worked. The switch and entrance light were not fixed while I was there. The room was hot when I entered, while the hallway was nicely cool. After addressing the light issue and the repair man left, I looked for a thermostat. I saw a closed vented near the ceiling, moved a chair and stood on it to open the vent. Cool air came out. Then I was okay and could go to sleep. The next day I learned more about the room. The bathroom was small but had been redone and looked nice. The shower water did not warm up adequately while the sink water did. That evening I tried the old tube television and most channels were too fuzzy to watch. The old couch should be replaced. Since I was at the convention, the couch and the TV were not important to me. I slept well each night. The room sufficed for my needs. The front desk service and room service were fine. I was happy enough went I left. Read more

I read all the negative reviews, and thought to myself, "Oh Please!!" Going to South Beach for the WMC for the past 20 something years, I've seen the good and the bad...and yes....Miami has gotten very expensive. Anybody going to the San Juan, comparing the prices to other hotels, can't expect it to be a five star suite....but it's really not that bad […] at all. I was expecting the worst....but for the price and location...what do people expect? It is what it is....simple, bare bones. I'm just hoping the prices stay relatively the same after it's been fully remodelled. It's obvious that it is being remodelled....as the room seemed old but the bathrooms looked brand new. For the location and the price....i believe it's fair. If you wanna splurge and go in style, then buy all means stay at the Delano...or The National. But if you're on a budget, and just need a place to crash at night...do the San Juan. Read more

I read the reviews before booking the hotel and I had high hopes that the reviewers were just being hyper critical. Boy was I wrong. The first thing you notice is the smell. There is a detergent like smell that is reminiscent of Tijuana. The lobby is updated and there is ambient music playing in the background. That was pleasant. The sheets were rough and there was not ample closet space. The bathroom, however, was gorgeous. So nice in fact that it seemed like you walked through a portal into another dimension when you entered. There were no amenities that were usable(combination shampoo/conditioner/body wash) and the towels were small and thin. Excellent location! 1 block from the beach, 1 block from Lincoln Rd- where there are lots of shops, galleries, restaurants and bars, 3 blocks from Convention Center. the hotel is old, my room was clean with an updated bathroom, clean pool. The hotel location was great at Collins Ave and Lincoln Rd. The hotel seems to be in the middle of a remodeling project. Our bathroom was great, but the rest of the room need to be worked.

Your basic hotel, moderately clean, nice staff, nothing fancy, convenient to the beach and Lincoln Road shopping. If you are a stickler for cleanliness look elsewhere, otherwise it's a good value for the price especially for business travel on a budget.

Em termos de qualidade fica a desejar, porém a localização é ótima....dá para ir a pé aos principais lugares de Miami Beach, principalmente na Lincoln durante a noite. Como eu não estava procurando conforto, era para apenas 2 noites... valeu a pena. Eu gosto muito do Sofitel, mas cada um tem sua característica.

Wer schmerzfrei ist bezüglich heruntergekommener Ausstattung und nicht gerade gepflegter Zustände kann hier durchaus glücklich werden wegen der Lage des Hotels direkt in South Beach, vom Strand nur durch die Collins Avenue getrennt, und die fast unschlagbar günstigen Übernachtungspreise

Das San Juan liegt in Miami Beach direkt gegenüber den großen Hotels wie dem Ritz Carlotn und dem Loews. 300 Meter zum Strand und nah an der Lincoln Road, sowie dem Miami Beach Convention Center. Das Hotel selbst ist allerdings etwas in die Jahre gekommen und wohl schon länger nicht mehr restauriert worden. Das Bad in meinem Zimmer war allerdings relativ […] neu und sauber. Das Zimmer an sich machte aber nicht den allersaubersten Eindruck. Fernseher und Fernbedienung in desolatem Zustand. Positiv: funktionierender Safe im Zimmer. Die Türen zum Flur sind sehr hellhörig und man hört ab und zu heimkommende Betrunkene. Klimatisierung ist zentral, daher war es mir manchmal fast zu kalt, die Temperatur im Zimmer war nicht regelbar. Hotelpool ist vorhanden, ist aber nicht spektakulär. Fazit: phänomenaler Preis für die prominente Lage. Da darf der ein oder anderen Nachteile nicht weiter verwundern. Familien würde ich das Hotel aber eher nicht empfehlen. Read more
