I flew to South Beach on a lark one random Thursday in March, booking my room at Hotel Chelsea the same day before jumping on the plane to Miami. Upon my arrival in Miami, a shuttle serving a group of hotels on South Beach can be utilized (free of charge) in lieu of a pricey $30-something cab ride. While my reservation had not yet gone through upon […] my arrival, the cheerful woman at the front desk collected my bag, informed me of the free happy hour later in the day, and directed me to a few good places to eat within walking distance of the hotel. After killing some time taking in the sights and sounds of South Beach (Hotel Chelsea being only a few short blocks from Ocean Drive), a call from the cheerful woman at the front desk let me know that my room was ready. A king size bed, modern appearance, and good-sized TV being the highlights. Sometimes working bathroom fixtures, the weirdest channel listing I've ever seen, and no view being the negatives. But you don't go to Hotel Chelsea to stay inside. You go to sit outside on the patio, drink a cold beverage, converse with strangers, smoke some hookah, and enjoy a short vacation from the life you left behind. Great small boutique for the moderate price (compared to surrounding hotels). Lobby Bartenders are great, and free happy hour drinks nightly are a nice touch. Very close to South Beach nightlife, but far enough away to not be noisy.

It was nice. i hated that they gave away my king size beds and I ended up with 2 fulls. This put a bad taste in my mouth immediately. Room was ok. Floor was un level and weird to walk on. The rooms were small, but a very fun hotel in South Beach. Everything was great until the South Beach Group shuttle came to pick us up in 90+ degree weather with no air conditioner or windows that opened. Overall, I would recommend Chelsea for a group of young friends.

Nice hotel. Lobby is loud so you should request a room on the 3rd floor towards the end of the hall. Ideal for 1 or 2 people. Not suitable for families as hotel lobby has a club feeling in the evenings.

I absolutely loved my stay at the Chelsea hotel. We went for my birthday and At first we only booked our first two nights but ended up squeezing our way in for the rest of our stay. Amd for the nights we didnt go ut we enjoyed their patio and hookah with was very relaxing. The front desk lady Gilma helped us extend our stay even when they were pretty almost booked up and got us every night except Saturday where she referred us to their sister hotel around the corner hotel Shelly. It was nice but I was glad to be back at Chelsea. For the price the hotel Chelsea is definitely worth it, I don't think I'll book another hotel wheni go to Miami again and the location was perfect to me. Its on Washington so it's a nicer area than Collins, and not as busy/loud as Ocean drive and is only a couple blocks walk to most restaurants, bars, clubs, and beaches. Everything else is a cheap taxi ride. It's probably not the best for family vacays due to noise but what would you expect? You're staying in south beach Miami its a party town. The maid cart was a fixture in the hallway. We had to walk around it every time we went to our room which was at the end of the hall. The internet didn't work in our room, and when we called to complain we were told 'Oh yes, the internet doesn't work in that room. You have to come to the lobby to use it." Awesome. I would definitely recommend the Chelsea to others due to the close proximity to the beach, restaurants and nightlife. Loved the 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm all that you can drink happy hour and free beach bag! Diana at the front desk was very friendly!

Hotel Chelsea was a quaint little hotel, right on Washington Ave, just 2 blocks from the beach. If you know anything about South Beach, you know thats an ideal location - close enough to walk to the beach but far enough from all the rowdiness of Collins Ave. Our room was very cute, and a decent size since it had two full beds in it. The bus stop is also right outside of the hotel so if going up and down the beach and shops then this is helpful. Chelsea is also part of the South Beach Group hotels which offer free shuttle service to and from the airport. Being that a cab ride can be anywhere from $50-100, this is a big bonus and such a convenience! All in all, Hotel Chelsea is definitely one that I would revisit if I was going back to Miami Beach! I got a room with 2 beds, and it was really tiny...the beds are about 5 feet apart. The bathroom is super tiny and when you take a shower...the water will get all over the bathroom floor. The Hotel itself shows signs of age...the building is old, it has only 1 elevator which fits 2 adults...maybe 3 small adults...and it moves very very slow. My room was extremely clean and comfortable. All of the appliances seemed new and the bathroom and shower were really nice. Also, the hotel website gives an extremely accurate account of what the rooms look like. With that being said there were a few negatives. I was in a supposedly quiet part of the hotel at the back of the 2nd floor and it was SO […] loud. I could not hear the music from the first floor (which was at practically all times very very loud), but what I did hear at all hours of the night were doors slamming and people yelling. The doors/walls are as thin as paper. I could hear someone blowdrying their hair in their bathroom 4 rooms away.
