Worst hospitality I've ever had in traveling. Our whole stay (5 day) no washcloths. Housekeepers were lazy I wish I had taken pictures of how they cleaned my room. all in all there are other great options near south beach. I believe they maintain at a minimum due to location.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The area was so noisy that it was impossible to sleep, possibly due to Spring Break.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Noisy"
Hotel was performing construction during my stay. They started really early and was unable to get a good rest. Ceiling was leaking over the shower which flooded the ship and drip noise was too loud to the point that I could not sleep.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Bad staff Not a place for family"
When we checked in we were told that the room price was Paid. They informed us about the non smoking room and get 100 dolars depozit for the room. The next day when we are checking out they wanted from us 16 dolars for fee. They did not inform us about the fee when we checked in. We did not ilke the staff.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Whitelaw Hotel - South Beach Group"
excellent location walk to beach a lot of restaurants and shopping. great that it has a shuttle from the airport. hotel could be updated hallway to the rooms are horrible, wildly floors, tacky old carpeting. rooms are in decent condition very small with eccentric decor. front desk staff will try to charge extra for early check in but that's a joke. […] A spot for young or at least young at heart not for stuffy older people. lobby bar music can get kinda loud but who comes to South Beach to sleep. resort searc resort surcharge is totally unnecessary. "Clean room. Loud ghetto music. Noisy."
oom was very clean. Nice bathroom but lose leaky sink.very noisy ghetto music, with screaming bad language. N word every 2 seconds. Room shook with noise vibrations. Good windows, so no street noise, but since they made their own noise internally, very little point. Refrigerator in room but it kicked on and off through out the night. Strange check in. […] No computer to take credit card , so they photo copied details and stored them in a pile behind the counter which is also the same room where 50 people ( ghetto crowd were dancing to ghetto music). I felt very insure about this and so had to cancel my card next day. No inventory list for snacks in room, so no way of checking if anything is missing on check-in, and no way of telling how much anything costs. Room was very clean but corridor outside was very dirty. "Worst hotel I ever stayed at."
Don't stay there!!! This place is dirty & the staff is horrible.Genuine Expedia guest review
The hotel was in a good location. The patio is a nice feature. Just about every outlet in our hotel room didn't work. We wanted to take the free airport shuttle, as advertised. But it only operates every 2 hours after 8:00am on Wednesdays. We did not find this out until we were checking in.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Just OK Hotel"
Music in bar / outside was very "techno-pop" and loud. Seems the hotel is popular with the late 20's crowd. Rooms were decorated nicely and bathroom was stone. Room floor (not bath), was a whitewashed pergo-type flooring (nice), but in need of a good mopping; I even asked at front desk it was not. Bed was REALLY comfy!. The hallways are in desperate […] need of a re-do. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

If you're on spring break, this is the place for you. If not..go elsewhere. We stayed on the first floor, and music was played on a Thursday night until 4am. I called the front desk and they finally turned it off at 4:30a. I understand it's South Beach. But come on. At least be open to your guests when checking in. I would have gladly waited for another […] room on a different floor. Room was very clean and updated enough. Size of room was ridiculously small! Good for one person. "Great Hotel if you're not planning on sleeping"
The good: Free bus to and from the airport, on the hour or every other hour. The location was great, everything was with in walking distance. touristy area. very nice area and felt safe. The decretive style of the hotel was very nice. The Bad: The room I booked online wasn't the room i got, I booked a king bed and i got two single beds. They put […] me in a room on the first floor where is was SUPER noisy!!! you could hear everyone from the bar CLEARLY and the DJ who played music loudly all day and all night long. You could hear everyone walking in the hallway, you could hear everything...everything they're saying word for word. it was too much noise. I asked be to moved but they said it was the only room they had available. The toilet was leaking, the shower floor wasn't clean at all, allot of dirt that should've been cleaned before I got there. Actually I done reservation for whiltelaw but they said; we changed your hotel which name is Chesterfield Hotel & Suites. "No room wifi as promised"
We were originally booked in the Whitelaw - when we arrived to check in we were greeted with the news that we'd received an upgrade to a 'mini suite ' in the chesterfield hotel up the street .. lugging our many bags over (no bell hop to help) we found this upgrade wasn't really one at all .. in fact they wanted to give us queen size beds when we'd booked […] king rooms .. to top it off we were told that the 'free high speed wireless' advertised on expedia was only available in the lobby - no wifi in the rooms?? They felt this was fine as they hadn't specified where on the property wifi was available .. not a great start! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Nice room but very noisy"
The hotel and inside of the room is nice, the located is perfect for beach and shopping. but the real problem is very noisy, I understanding this is hotel at south beach but why do you even have a room beside the lobby when you have a lounge bar with party music all night long until 1 am everyday. The first night we fly into Miami and checked in at […] 10:30PM, the only room they have is right beside the lobby room 101...very terrible situated right beside the lobby, we could not stand the noisy so had to call for expedia's help, the lady on the phone cant barely hear my voice because of the noisy. "not a good experience"
This is not a very family friendly hotel. We stayed in a room on the first floor and the music in the lobby was super loud and you could here it loud and clear in the room. "Not a place I'd stay again."
I went for the Rock n Roll 1/2 marathon and needed to get a good nights sleep. When the hotel says they play music in the lobby it is an understatement. They have a bar in the lobby. Loud, very loud music which my room was booked on the 1st floor, down the hall, and there is no way any sleep would be had until they closed. After much hassle I got swtiched […] to a sister hotel which the quality was just as poor but at least quiet. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"The worst Hotel I name"
The person on the front desk name John is rude. He disliked me because I am "already paid" At 1 PM Iwant to chek in but he said the rooms are not ready so I have to vait until 03 PM. When I insisted the other front desk boy said ok let us chek and they can gave me the room 305. BUT THEY GET COPY OF MY CREDİT CARD WİTH THE OLD DAYS CREDİT CARD COPİER […] AND İNSİST ME TO SİGN IT. I obey them desperetly. I chosed this Hotel because of shuttle to air port the boy name John told me that I can take the shuttle at next day at 2 PM. At nigt the hotel bar is very noisy. Shouting yelling and loughing in the high manner. İn a small reception a small porch and a wide bar standing together. The bed is so big but room is too small. So the bathroom. The conditioner is poor and cannot be controlled. Puffing directly to the bad and very noisy. Curtens are broken just sewed ugly way. Next day . When I chek out and ask for the shuttle The Boy John told me that shuttle is broken but he can call me a cab. I thought that they pay the cab. . Great for people who need a place to take a shower and sleep for a few hours. The location was great but the sheets were dirty, the toilet was leaking and there was no bathtub. Only an area in the bathroom with a showerhead.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Whitelaw"
If your going to party this is a great hotel. Problem I had was they put us on the first floor and I hadn't slept in almost 24 hours. The lobby has a bar in it which apparently gives them the right to play the music LOUD until 2am. I called and complained a few times but I was told a few times they had the right to play it that loud. (when I say loud […] I mean I couldn't even hear the tv in my room). The hotel was clean and in a GREAT location. But because of not being able to sleep due to loud music and they were unable to move me to another room I would never stay here again. "Can't believe Hotels.com gave this a 3 star rating"
I was very disappointed with the the Whitelaw and was in disbelief that it received a 3 star rating and did not come with a major disclaimer. The disclaimer should have read, "This hotel is not very family friendly because we are trying to create a nightclub atmosphere with loud techno music playing in the lobby throughout the day and most of the night […] and full bar that dominates the lobby. Also, this place caters to guests who party all night and make lots of noise." If you are looking for vibrant party atmosphere, then this place is fine. If you are looking for peace and comfort, then I would look elsewhere. Cons: - Loud techno music played in the lobby most of the day into the night. Can't imagine having a room over the lobby. - Cold and indifferent front desk. Not friendly at all. It felt more like club with employees who were just "too cool for school". - The was *NO PHONE* in the room. There were was a crazy loud party going on in at least 2 rooms next to ours and we couldn't even call the front desk to complain. - Security issue. Our door did not have a security latch which made me very uncomfortable given that there were very drunk and obnoxious people next door. Furthermore, there was no peephole on the door either. - The tiles in the bathroom floor were falling apart to the point where there were some soft spots on the floor. - Housecleaning failed to give us fresh towels one day. - Housecleaning permanently parked their big garbage bin right by our door. Nothing like arriving to your door with a big stinky, ugly garbage bin waiting for you. Pros: - Location. Close proximity to Ocean Drive and the beach. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Whitelaw Hotel in Miami Beach"
The elevator was large enough for a wheelchair only if he backed in at an angle. The room had such a rank odor that it was stunning. We immediately asked for someone to do something about this and nobody responded. The front desk was totally uninterested. We asked again about 3 hours later. After 4 hours, they sent up a cleaning gal with a can of Fabreeze. […] We asked again to have a fan set up. At 11:00 at night, the maintainance man (who said he had not been contacted until this time) brought up an ozone air cleaner. We had to leave the room while this ran for a 1/2 hour. It did help some but by the next morning the intense odor was back. (We think it was a combination of cigarette smoke and mildew). We went to the front desk again at 9:00 a.m.,and asked to have the ozone machine run while we were out. We came back at 2:00 p.m. and nothing had been done. We asked again. We came back at 5:00 and nothing had been done. They never did bring the machine back and the front desk frankly did not care. I will never stay at this hole again and would definitely not recommend it to anyone. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Poor reception attitude"
The room was fine. It's an older hotel that's been updated. It's a little small, but let's face it, if your going to south beach Miam, your not really going there for the hotel room. But being on south beach the hotel is a little pricey. Upon arrival, receptionist asked a few times " are you sure you have a reservation at this hotel?" I consider myself […] to be a clean-cut, upper-middle class person, I may not be a celebrity or anything, but then I doubt very much that a celebrity would ever stay at this hotel. Then upon check out, reception told me that they were going to charge me for a distinction of a towel. I said "WHAT?" I used one towel to dry myself off after a shower, if it got little damp that's the whole purpose of the towel. He tells me "you guys got makeup or something on a towel." I look around and ask him, how many of me do you see? I'm only one single guy and I don't know about the guys in Miami, but in Canada, guys don't wear makeup. Felt very discussed with reception and walked out. Needless to say, I won't ever stay there again. Stay away from this place. Better hotels in the area for same price.
