The hotel needs to be remodeled. The hotel is in a great location it just needs to be updated. The room we stayed in had a tube TV, and there was no ESPN. There weren't enough outlets. The bathroom had no fan.

Old rooms, stay if you want to feel in the 70's, bad maintenance and no parking you have to go find a public parking and wake up early to go pay the parking!

The area is awful -- definitely not South Beach ($20 cab ride) and very run down. We pull up to the valet and he says there is not parking at the hotel (in a tone like we should have known that?!) and tells me to go down to 72nd street public parking (probably 4 or 5 blocks down). So it's 9:30pm and I'm walking with all my bags down Collins Ave... awesome. […] We check-in, and everything seems fine (aside from the 1 sheet on the bed). When it's time to actually go to sleep, we go to the closet for extra blankets and find the crustiest of all blankets. It literally felt like we were sleeping with a cactus... The customer service was awful. Everything seemed to be a hassle for them and I don't think I ever heard one thank you or got one smile. The second night we were there, the water went out and stayed out until check out the next morning (and possibly longer, but I was out of there). I will never ever go back and stay at this "resort". I've stayed at motels with better service and quality of living. Read more

This place is awful. The hotel has no parking and makes you park in public parking about 10 blocks away. They tell you there's a shuttle, but no one was ever able to find one. ALSO, they charges you extra when you arrive - RESORT FEES - and, despite the beautiful lobby furniture, the rooms are AWFUL and dirty. I was afraid to touch anything in the room. […] They had one elevator running so everyone was jammed into one elevator which stopped on every floor. There was also a sign that said no more than 8 people at one time in the elevator which made me feel really safe. When I was checking out I felt stuff hitting me on the head . . . and realized it was chunks of the ceiling. Avoid this place - I am surprised I didn't leave w/ bedbugs. Dirty, awful place! This hotel has the worse customer service. Parking was four blocks away valet parking stated there was no parking. Room was never cleaned the entire stay. Called for towels 5 times for 4 hours and never receive the towels. I will never stay here again. Guess you get what u pay for..........

The location of the hotel was really nice, right next to the beach however the rooms were disgusting. we had what looked like dried throw up on our wall the bathroom was covered in cracks and stains. I was a bit unsure about booking this hotel due to some of the reviews rec'd on it. However, I must say I was completed happy with the hotel. The exterior of the bldg is run-down looking. However, the lobby and rooms have been rennovated. I strongly recommend ocean view rooms here!!!! There was even a patio to sit on and view the ocean. AWESOME!!and […] probably the best rate you can get for this amenity. The location is a bit removed from SoBe but close enough to be in the mix (or chaos). I had a car, so it was not an issue at all. The valet was slower than I'm accustomed to-- 10-20minutes. However, if you call ahead they'll have your car ready when you come down. I also felt that the valet attendants were a bit "unattentive" to me. I believe it is a separate operation/ownership than the hotel. They could improve on their customer service, for sure. The next time I go to Miami Beach, I WILL stay in this hotel, for sure. Best value, hands down, especially if you want an oceanview room. Read more

The valet parking, supposedly available to guest is always full. IF you say your staying for longer than 4 days, that parking magically opens up eventhough the car before you was turned down. Alternative parking is about 6 blocks north, free during the night but your gonna have to wake up before 8AM to pay for your slot. Cant pay earlier, no matter […] what you do. Hotel service itself is fair. High end look but not the high end service. Booked the hotel then read the reviews, decided to give this place a shot anyway. Lobby wasn't too bad, elevators had a weird smell. Off the elevator on the 4th floor things only got worse. Neither of us had been to Miami before and, as this was a spur-of-the-moment trip, we were looking for a reasonably-priced hotel that was right on the beach. The Deauville fit the bill. But it was a perfectly service-able hotel; and it had a very quaint 60s kind of vibe. Our room was clean (though we had to request washcloths daily). Hotel staff were very friendly and accommodating. And we were right on the beach. Parking is a mess and a bit chaotic - we were glad we didn't rent a car. There's a taxi stand just outside the hotel, so getting to South Beach at night was easy. This place is not even worth nothing. The room had roaches. The shower pole fell on me every night when showering. The pool has to be resurfaced, its old. Well, let me start with wifi, doesnt work and when it dis for maybe 30 min/day its unreliable. Rooms would get cleaned very late in the afternoon, and i expected them to be cleaned in the morning while im by the pool/beach. Is there a shortage on towels? It is at this hotel. The view from our room was the only pleasant part of this stay! We are two females in our 20s who waited too long to book a room for our weekend getaway. Other hotels were in prime areas for the same price we paid for this hotel. Not only is it super old (not in a cute way) but there were stains everywhere, and the carpet was sticky. We got the last two beach chairs around 11am and didn't go in the water because four people were stung by jellyfish while we were there! DO NOT get food at the tiki bar. I just needed to get away from the snow, so I booked a spur of the moment vacation down to Florida. The hotel was nice, could use a little paint and new carpet in the hallways. The use o the in room safe, a nice thing to have. And two beach lounge chairs and towels. The beach at the hotel was very nice, the sand bar let one walk out very far into the ocean. The staff from the outdoor bar take orders on the beach, but I could not charge to the room, I had to have cash or credit card, a little strange, why would I want to have a lot of cash or credit card on the beach. While there was not suppose to be smoking on the beach, there was a lot of smoking going on. The staff said they would speak to the people, but I was ready to get out of the sun by then. After the expensive taxi ride from the FLL airport, I used the buses near by for a resonable fare each way down/back from South Beach.
