I had a comfortable stay at the Deauville Hotel. I was very hesitant to stay there after reading some of the reviews on this site. Its true that there was no valet parking ,but I had no trouble walking half a block to park my car. The hotel needs remodeling but it is in clean and in good condition. The beach is nice and the ocean front view impressive. […] I was able to capture the most spectacular sunrises I have ever. The gym is one of the most complete gyms I have ever seen in a hotel. It looks like world gym. Their personnel is friendly and knowledgeable. They had sun tanning boots, massage services, beauty parlor, zumba classes, spinning. Its not truth that there are no restaurants nearby. The pizza place and bar next door is open 24 hrs. as well as Walgreens. If you walk few blocks you can find a super market and a good variety of restaurants: Sushi, mediterranean, Argentinian steak house, deli, etc. I believe it is of good value since most of the Hotels in Miami beach cost twice as much. I did not enjoy my stay at this hotel. I would rate this hotel a 0 from a scale of 0-10. The rooms walls were dirty, The bathroom was unconventional, The shower head was broken, The refrigerator was broken, the air conditioning was so out dated that it kept us up all night from its loud noise. We would even hear our neighbors air condition. As well […] i did not appriciate there dangerous door , every time i would open or close my room door it would slam immidetatly , this is not acceptable and can really injur anyone. they never had ice in the ice machine. Very disappointed with our stay at The Deauville Beach Resort. The people at the front desk were unfriendly and not helpful at all. The lobby of the hotel is extremely beautiful - looked as if it were a 5-star hotel when we arrived. As soon as we stepped off the elevator onto the 8th floor and entered our room accommodations, we were very disappointed. […] The room looked as if it hadn't been updated since the early 80's. No blankets on the beds - only sheets. TV was very small (13"), not to mention it was a tube television. The wall panel was missing in the bathroom, which left open plumbing exposed and sounded as if something was scurrying around inside the open wall. The biggest downfall was all of the "extra" fees we were charged upon checkout. There was no parking on the premises. Instead we had to park across the street in a parking garage of which we were charged $30 per day. There were also amenity charges for use of the pool, beach, wifi, beach chairs, beach towels, etc... of which we did not use any of these amenities but were still charged for them. I wouldn't reccomend this hotel to anyone - it was a very big disappointment!!!! We ended up checking out a day early because we weren't comfortable staying another night there. Read more

When booking my hotel, I put in that I was travelling with three children. It would have been helpful to have known that the pool was under renovations!!! Free drinks at the bar which of course is at the pool and I never used did not make up for this massive let down.

Shame!!!! Beautiful waterfront property run as a small town motel. You get impress by their lobby... then you get scare by the number of people sitting in the hallways.??? The hotel is great for family gatherings. Went there for labor day weekend, there was music by the pool all day which made it that much more pleasant to be by the pool side( not sure if it was just because of the holiday weekend or an every weekend event.) Claudio, the Customer Service Manager was very nice and got us in our room 1 hour before check-in time. The hotel was nice BUT very money hungry. We wanted to check in at 1:30 pm (versus 4 pm) yes but you will pay $75.00 Dollars, Extra towels for the beach, $10.00 each, everything was money money money.

Speaking Spanish im Miami would be a great advantage. Parking is under construction so velet parking a must at an additional cost. Unions are very active at the Deauville so extra costs are required. The ocean view is excellent bu the hotel is dirty. There wasn't even an exhaust fan in the bathroom . We had to go out and bought an air freshener !!. The worst part of all were there was NO parking lots available for guests. I did not know this until we checked in . Valet parking is the WORSE I have ever experience in my Life ! It's more like Shuttle Service , you have to TRY to find a parking at a public parking lot that you have to pay for using meters that is five blocks away . Then wait about 20 minutes for a shuttle to pick you up IT REALLY SUCKS !!

We got there and found out that there was no onsite parking. Had to park in city parking lot approx. a mile down the street. They do offer shuttle service to the parking lot. I don't like shuttle service so we walked.

Then they tell you call ahead for your car, then when you do they say just come down and wait 20-30 mins, then you have to keep tipping every time you request car. As I drove up to the hotel I thought it was a 5-star until I got off the floor. As I walked down the long hallway it reminded me of the projects in New York. I walked into my room and had to walk to the middle of the room where I found just the 1 lamp as lighting for the whole room. I at least called maintenance 4 times for the toilet that kept clogging. […] One of the times maintenace came up, they just opened the door without knocking and just came in and did not get an apology. During your stay you pay a $15.00 resort fee per day in addition to what you have already paid. When I finally check out I notice that no one is asked how was there stay. I complained about the toilet problem and all the guy said that I need to call maintenance, which I did. I will not stay here again nor will I recommend to anyone else. Horrible hotel and service. Hidden fees! if you use the phone […] you will be charged 5$ per day. if you go on the beach you will have to rent a towel for 2$ and umbrella 15$ every day.!!! August is a good time to visit Miami, it's as off-season as you can hope for. We spent the last night of our vacation at the Deauville. The valet was full and it was raining, we were told to park at 72nd in the public lot then a shuttle would pick us up. There was much confusion on thier end about who could send the shuttle, after four phone calls we […] asked for a manager - they don't have one (what?). After an hour we arrived to check in. The staff at the desk were very nice and professional. The room was cooled and clean, a standard room has 2 double beds, bathroom, small fridge (which did not keep anything cold, probably should be replaced), coffee pot and TV. The room still has a 60's feel to it, they have updated the linens and light fixtures but the layout and size felt dated. We had a view of the bay and the busy streets below. The Deauville includes a lounge on the ground floor with live music, prices looked a bit high so we ventured out north along Collins avenue to find several different options for dinner. We did not have a chance to use the pool or see how easily the beach could be accessed, however the hotel is on the east side of Collins so the beach was not far at all. I'm sure the ocean view is grand, there's nothing between the east side of the hotel and the water. The lowest level includes laundry, hair salon, large fitness center and business center. Breakfast not included. Overall, it's an older well appointed hotel on the beach. I think we will be back! Read more

We had read some reviews prior to booking this hotel, so it was no suprise to find the sign regarding the valet parking being full. They refer you to two or three public parking lots are about 1/2 mile to 3/4 mile away. However, we did manage to get into the valet parking. Even so, I really hate to have to pay to park. They say they are working on a […] new valet lot closer to the hotel. They ask you to expect a 30 minute to 1 hour wait when you ask for your car. We had a very pleasant three day stay. The first night we ate at the Cafe del Mar in the hotel to use a $10 coupon we received at check in. The ambiance was very plesant, the service and food were good. Even though, there were only a few tables occupied in the dining room, the staff seemed somewhat disorganized. There were many other outside restaurants along Collins Ave. within easy walking distance, as well as a Walgreens across the street and a Publix super market about a 1/4 mile north. We really liked our ocean view room with balcony. The room was clean, and the beds were very comfortable. The air conditioner worked great. They have a rule about "no coolers - for your safety". I really think that they want to sell you $12 drinks on the beach. We did buy one mixed drink on the beach. Upon check out I had to wait 20 minutes for space on an elevator.
