"Don't get the penthouse level room"
The hotel was decent. I've stayed there before but I had a double bed room the first time. The second time I rented a penthouse level room but it did not look like the picture hotels.com provides it was a waste of money I was better off renting a regular room.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"The good news is that it was clean"
Thestaff was also really pleasant and accomodating. The location was great-easy walk to anywhere you might want to go including the convention center. Thats the end of the good news.The place needs some work otherwise. The table, floor and walls were dirty. The room smelled moldy. The toilet made a loud squeaking noise every few minutes. The room was close to the elevator which could be heard making a loud rumbling noise all night. No onsite parking. Nearby parking is expensive.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Careful with extra charges"
This hotel is an attractive option in the Miami Beach area for its price. However, be careful with OBLIGATORY additional charges before making your reservation. Upon checking in, they informed me of an obligatory package that included towels (pool was empty), 2 bottles of water (smallest ever seen), internet (offered as free on the site), breakfast […] (toast, cereal, and juice - also offered as free on the website) and free local phone calls (only two area codes in Miami area). As for the room, it was acceptable, the beds are comfortable but extremely noisy, most cable channels are unavailable, and the rest is OK. The room service is good, except for the reluctance to replace empty shampoo bottles and soap. "Hidden surprises by the President!"
Very poor service : I arrived late and had to wait more than an hour to get my room! Other people before me were not given their rooms they had reserved and kept the receptionist busy until they got a room! Surprise when I had to pay an extra $15.00 + 13% for "resort fees" (including a breakfast voucher) then I had to give my credit card for a deposit […] which would be reimbursed 7 to 10 business days later! The hotel room was quite nice and clean. Then another surprise the next day when I went for breakfast. I ordered my breakfast, ate it and departed when the waiter called me back and ask me to pay. Surprise! I said I gave my voucher. He said it was only for continental breakfast and had to pay for my eggs! Then came the manager, a french woman who started to moan and groan about me (in french)... guess what? I am a French teacher with french mother tongue! and I understood all her bad language! I paid and went away gladly! What a way to treat people! This is a real shame as the hotel itself is very nicely art-deco furnished, clean and pleasant if that was not for those hidden fees and other bad service. Additional resort fee includes use of wireless internet. Very weak signal with no place in the hotel room to comfortably work. No table, no desk. Cable TV service was very poor. Good location, that's it. My room was extremely noisy, the walls are paper thin and I could hear the guy next room even snoring!!!
