"Ok hotel"
location is great, neighborhood is very quiet. It is very convenient to take any bus, including the bus that goes directly to the airport. My girl and I picked this place out just off of reviews from Hotels.com. We found this hotel to be a perfect location. Only 5 minute walk to the beach (two blocks) and all other restaurants and bars. I was far enough away to not hear any of the noise from anything. Walgreens and CVS are super close in case you need any last minute items. "With a little bit more effort it . . ."
Very good for a wannabe 'boutique' hotel just 2 blocks from South Beach, but without the noise. It's been updated, but still has an oldie retro feel to it. The fully body showers with steam bath are superb. However, the steam bath set off the smoke alarm for 10 minutes. And the stair and hall carpets are filthy. Yes, it's near the beach and that should […] be taken into account, but these look like they haven't been vacuumed or shampooed for months. Housekeeping: the first iron came with a black goo baked onto it, and one of 2 bathroom overhead lights went unfixed the entire time. Desk staff were pleasant and accommodating. "Far enough away to get sleep close to action"
We only stayed here one night as we were returing from Key West and on our way to Jamaica. But it was very nice. We parked in the parking lot next door for $20 and it was easy to get our luggage in and out from the parking lot - very convienient. My gf likes to pack alot of luggage and luckily we were on the first floor as I do not think that they have […] an elevator. It is very clean and hip. We were very close to everything. We ate at Joe's Stone Crab the night that we arrived - it was only about 2 blocks south from St. Augustine. The main drag on Ocean Avenue is only about two blocks east from St. Augustine. We had some great mojitos after eating crab at Joe's and just marveled at the rivival of the art deco buildings all along Ocean Avenue. We also found the antique cars with maniqueins in them to be entertaining as well as the music, dancing, and the more drinks that we consumed. To be able to walk back to our hotel without having to worry about driving after drinking in the very complicated traffic controlled area of South Beach only made this hotel even more desirable to stay at. When we went back to our room only two blocks away, we could not hear a sound from Ocean Beach. We slept nicely and the bed was surprisingly comfortable for being a bed without a box spring. But then again - I prefer a firm matress as opposed to sleeping on something that I sink onto. Besides, if the matress is to firm for you, then you can work out the knots in their AWSOME steam shower. OK - maybe I am deprived - but I have never before stayed in a hotel that has a steam shower. OK - maybe they are distracting me away from the fact that there is no pool and no hot tub and not even a bathtub. But the bathroom is very cleverly designed and the steam shower fit the bill after our morning run on the beach. "Lack of AC"
Great on so many fronts but as they say, sometimes it only takes one thing to kill it. The stay was fantastic in our suite except for the death of our air conditioning early in the night (around 1am) every night for 3 nights in a row! They tried to fix it three times, once on our arrival as we noticed it wasn't working at 4 in the afternoon and twice […] in the mornings on our way out. The last time they didn't bother as we were checking out the next day. In the hotels defense, they did pick up one of our small bar tabs but I would have rather had air conditioning as none of the windows opened and it was in the 80's every night during our stay. "Koselig lite hotell med bra beliggenhet"
Hadde et kjempefint opphold på dette hotellet. Lite og koselig, med god service, rent og pent. Veldig kule rom med åpen badromløsning, steambastu i dusjen og spa-bar.
