They do not have hotel parking. Either use the Valet from the next door hotel that cost $32 a night or use the public lot across the street and have to pay a meter. The front door guy didn't show any signs of concern on what I was saying. His response was, "what you want me to do". Quiet room within walking distance to the beach and clubs (5 minutes tops). The room came with free breakfast, free happy hour, and VIP passes to mansion, a trendy club. The club passes were great. We still paid a $30 cover charge, but got one free drink pass so it came to like a $15 cover charge, plus we did not have to wait on line to get into the […] club. This is a Boutique Hotel on the third street away from South Beach. The lobby is nice and the place is far enough out of the way so you are not overwhelmed by people or noise. We were given a room in the back by the stairs that was very make shift and I am sure not what the others are like. The room had a funky fogged door and a key for it instead of […] an electronic card. The room was part modern and part yucky when you analyzed it. The paint was peeled or poorly done in certain parts, the air conditioning in the bed area was not very strong, and the shower dripped the whole time. The bed was nice and big and it did have a mini bar area. If I was planning on staying in the room for other than sleeping I would have asked to have been moved. The place has no parking other than valet ($30 but typical South Beach) and no pool or other major ammenities. Everything was great about this place except the water-pressure when I was trying to take a shower. Water would run fast and then the pressure would go so low that almost nothing would come out. Stayed at the Astor for 2 days and nights. It was my second time staying here except this time they were having issues with their hot water boiler which caused me to take cold showers my entire stay. I wasn't the only person effected with this problem. Besides that happening, my stay at the Astor was okay. Nothing to serious.

The first room we were put in had no AC and a broken TV. We were then moved to a second room that couldn't access the internet (which we were required to pay $15/day for), no hot water for the 2 days we were there, and no water pressure from the sink. We had the manager come to our room several times to show him that there was no hot water and he kept […] saying "it's fine sir". Then after arguing with him for a while he said they were having problems with the boiler and they had to reset it. Every time I went to the front desk there was another guest complaining about the water. I reported them to the Public Health Commission. We found the room to be very noisey, doors slam at all hours of the night and echo throughout the hallway and our room. The staff was so-so at best. if you stay at this hotel travel a few blocks towards the ocean for the best entertainment.

No smoke detectors, phone, deadbolt, or even room number on the room. Had to place coffee maker on the floor to get it to an accessible wall outlet. Couldn't close one of the windows at street level . Upon check-in, valet spent half an hour trying to dissuade me from using public parking (by trying to tell me wrongly that I couldn't park where I had parked) […] and to use valet services instead. Luggage left with the hotel was left in the lobby and tags where not checked upon retrieval (by different front desk crew). Glad someone else didn't claim our luggage. Couldn't get a second key for the room -- only one key available. The door was so loose if someone wanted, they could have just kicked it in (no deadbolt or extra lock). Didn't feel safe at all with window open to Washington Street, no smoke detector, and that door. By the way, no early check-in available even though hotel was half empty. Wake up call was maid knocking on door. Worst hotel experience I've ever had. Period. Read more

Very pleasant stay, only unfortunate part was the bar, restaurant and pool where all under renovation and going through a change. This changes the environment a lot in the hotel. I recommend checking that these are back open before you stay.

I booked at the Astor for one night only as I had already made reservations elsewhere but found that I needed to arrive a day earlier. I was quite familiar with the hotel from years back when it was the "place to stay" for the wealthy but unassuming crowd. You could always run into a famous actor/actress staying at the hotel whom the Astor was always […] quite gracious to, to let them use the side entry if they wanted. Well its been years and the Astor has moved on. They are re-opening the bar, restaurant and swimming pool to bring back the old feel of the place. Having said that, the Astor still has all of the charm and sophistication that it had before. The staff is impeccable, warm and professional. Jorge is absolutely fantastic!!! The rooms are just as inviting with warm grey, beige and white tones and blond wood floors. Huge bathrooms. clean, clean, clean! The beds are super comfortable and inviting. It was actually very romantic. If you want a wonderful hotel, with an excellent location on the beach and don't mind waiting for the pool and bar to re-open. The Astor is the place. Try Vandykes for Jazz everynight, Balans for their long happy hour and Doraku for fantastic sushi and wonderful ambiance. The location and price of this hotel is terrific. Plus, the price was reasonable. We were disappointed to find lightbulbs missing in the wall lighting, which was the main lighting for the sitting area. The couch had a hole in it, and the armoire was very shaky and had a broken shelf. The room and bathroom were quite clean, which is always a must. This Hotel is in a great location, three blocks from the heart of the South Beach strip. We appreciated the friendliness of the desk staff. This was a great hotel and great location. If you are looking for a mid priced affordable but nice hotel in south beach this is it. It is only two blocks from ocean dr and the beach and is worth the walk. We arrived in the morning nervous that we wouldn't be able to check in. The front desk clerk was very friendly and accommodating and found us a room […] right away. The room was very spacious and accurately reflected the pictures we saw. The beds were incredibly comfortable and CLEAN! They also had no problem watching our many bags all day the next day after checking out while we explored miami before our night time flight. You literally hear everything, doors opening, people talking, people running on the top floor, etc. If we weren't so tired from our flight I doubt we would have been able to sleep. I'm glad we stayed only one night there. VERY slow check-in. Rooms were old. Towels were small. They charge a $15/day resort fee. It was not listed in the hotels.com listing so factor an additional $15 per day fee. The rooms haven't been updated in a while. Rooms are very average. Location is fantastic if you want to go to the clubs or beach.

Rooms are very basic as they are in cheap motels (minus cheap pictures or art work). Bare walls and very cold ambience. The bar downstairs was unjustifiably very expensive and they add gratuity to each drink. To top it off the at check out they charge resort fee, which was not mentioned on Hotels .com and it's not justified since it's not a Resort.
