"Not a nice place to stay"
There were several issues with this hotel. The first is that they share a valet with the hotel next store so you have to leave your car practically in the middle of the street while you go inside and wait for them to call the valet, who may take quite some time to get to you. Second, the first room they put me in was in an outdoor hallway and was loud […] and insecure. The second room they put me in was dirty (hand prints on the inside of the window, streaks on the mirrors, rings on the table) There shower fixtures were broken and there were no towels in the room. I would NEVER stay here again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location HORRIBLE SERVICE"
DO NOT STAY HERE. We arrived at the hotel for a bachelorette party and a reservation for 2 rooms but they mentioned they have been having plumbing issues and needed to put us in 3 separate rooms on separate floors. There was no hand/body soap, no towels and no phones in the room. The maid service didn't come for the entire 3 days we were there. I had […] to go to the lobby to request a towel 4 times and then they finally gave me a beach towel because they didn't have shower towels.(supposedly all were being washed) One of our rooms A/C was broken and another had a horrible sound coming from the pipes which woke us up every night. There is no food/room service and the check-in time was extremely long/slow. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Hotel Astor - Miami Beach, FL"
I have never had such a bad experience at a hotel. At 4am the first night of my stay, the ceilign started leaking. This is not the first time it has happened since the wooden floor was so soft in that area. Maintenance came up and sucked the woter out of the ceiling in the area of the air conditioner and that was it. At midnight the next night, the […] same thing happened. We were finally moved to another room at the convenience of the hotel. We were told to bring our stuff to the room and it would be ready shortly. Housekeeping was finsihing up cleaning when we arrived. We placed our bags in the room when a lady, that looked to be management of some sort, came and told us we had to leave because we couldnt be there when housekeeping was in the room. We convinced her to let us keep our stuff in the room and we left. When we returned to the room, one bed was blocked up with a piece of wood and phone books, the curtain covering the window in the shower had black mold all over the back of it and the toilet woudl not stop running. The first night when we arrived at the hotel, we waited for valet to take the car for just over 30 minutes. Finally the lady at the desk took our keys and said she woudl take care of it. Two out of the three times we requested our car during our stay, it took them 22 minutes and 19 minutes to bring the car. The third time it took them 13 minutes and the car was sitting on the side of the road just down the street in front of a restaurant that we had just had lunch at. The hotel has offered nothing to make this right. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Extremely Disappointed"
After a long drive in, we arrived at the hotel around midnight to find there is no parking. They will valey park your car for $28 but, the hotel does not have it's own parking. We checked into our room which, as it turns out, was in the stair well....literally. To get to our room you had to go through the door to the stair well and then you could get […] to our door. Upon reaching our room, we found it wide open. The electronic lock on our door did not work (which explained the standard deadbolt key attached to the key card) and it was wide open to anyone that happened to pass by and want to go in. Upon entering the room, we then found out our air conditioning was out...by then, I should not have been shocked. I won't even mention the awful noise the bathroom fan made when we turned it on. I will say that the staff on hand for the night was very nice and tried to be helpful but, there were no more rooms and there were no rooms at any of their "sister" hotels. Needless to say, we did not stay there...it took another hour but, we were able to find rooms at a hotel by the airport....much nicer and the AC worked. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Bad Facility/Horrible Customer Service"
The first room we were put in had no AC and a broken TV. We were then moved to a second room that couldn't access the internet (which we were required to pay $15/day for), no hot water for the 2 days we were there, and no water pressure from the sink. We had the manager come to our room several times to show him that there was no hot water and he kept […] saying "it's fine sir". Then after arguing with him for a while he said they were having problems with the boiler and they had to reset it. Every time I went to the front desk there was another guest complaining about the water. I reported them to the Public Health Commission. The hotel would only take $20 off our bill and Hotels.com would do nothing for us either. I would never stay at Hotel Astor even if you paid me. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very Bad Experience"
No smoke detectors, phone, deadbolt, or even room number on the room. Had to place coffee maker on the floor to get it to an accessible wall outlet. Couldn't close one of the windows at street level . Upon check-in, valet spent half an hour trying to dissuade me from using public parking (by trying to tell me wrongly that I couldn't park where I had parked) […] and to use valet services instead. Luggage left with the hotel was left in the lobby and tags where not checked upon retrieval (by different front desk crew). Glad someone else didn't claim our luggage. Couldn't get a second key for the room -- only one key available. The door was so loose if someone wanted, they could have just kicked it in (no deadbolt or extra lock). Didn't feel safe at all with window open to Washington Street, no smoke detector, and that door. By the way, no early check-in available even though hotel was half empty. Wake up call was maid knocking on door. Worst hotel experience I've ever had. Period. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Paul Talbot"
Hotel was nice until the water heater went out and There was no hot water after the first 2 days of my 6 night stay. They said they were working on it but still no water for showers or shaving the am that I left. Completely unacceptable but it was pre-paid so I could do nothing. I would have found an other hotel.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Will never go back"
The hotel is very far from being what is represented in the photos and in the web site. Even if I have always been pretty much in agreement with the star and the customer ratings reported by Expedia for all other hotels I visited, I don't understand how Astor hotel got its 3.5 stars and a relatively high guest rating. The general conditions of the hotel […] were just above the ones of a low end motel and several signs of aging were apparent. What is worst, however, is that they gave me a room that was located outside the main rooms' area, inside the stairs' trunk. As I complained, they offered me a second room that, however, was pretty much the same as the previous one: still in the stairs but on an other floor. For this reason I refused to spend the night in the hotel and I'm still trying to get my money back. I recognize that the two rooms that they offered were probably the last ones they had available. Still, the fact that they actually proposed those rooms tells a lot about either their quality standards or their professionality. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Falling to Pieces"
I expected this vacation to be relaxing but Hotel Astor failed to meet my expectations. I was put in room 305 until the cupboard door fell off its hinge. Then, I was moved to room 306, which was very nice until the toilet backed up and the air conditioning broke down. Next they sent me to 308, which looked like a gloomy bar. I refused it and was finally […] moved to room 302. I liked that room, in spite of the fact that the hot water tap in the bathtub leaked. So, I had the sound of continuously dripping water but refused to move again. The engineer said he could not fix it, although I imagine that simply changing the washer would do the job. Throughout my moves from one room to another, I was not assisted, despite the fact that concierge asked someone to help me. I was informed that I would have to speak to the manager in order to get compensation for these issues. Consequently, I spent 3 days trying to contact him. This proved to be impossible. He was 'unavailable' whenever anyone would admit to his being on the premises and did not respond to the email messages that I sent to him. People on the desk even varied in their stories about his presence, one saying that he hadn't come to the hotel on Sunday, while another said that he'd been there all afternoon. Talk about getting the run-around! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"L'hotel cade a pezzi"
