"Ok for the price"
Hotel was under renovation, so some areas were closed. Tiny room, old rickety elevator, terrible continental breakfast. But looking at prices of other places, this is probably the best you can get for the price, especially that close to the beach.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Mandatory breakfast?"
The over all stay of Blue Moon Hotel was ok. The service for breakfast was horrible. Paid mandatory breakfast was consistence of muffins. There was no cream or milk for coffee and if you ask for just a regular glass of milk they will charge you.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Out stay in Blue Moon"
We had the biggest room in the hotel, however for me It was the normal size of the hotel room. But we did not have a fridge in the room! As we asked personal later, none of the rooms has a fridge! Honestly, I think in nowadays even motel rooms have a fridge. Therefore, we ended up throwing away the restaurant leftover and we could not buy even the fruits […] because they would get rotten. Also at night we could not sleep because of the conditioning system outside, which was just in front of our window. We tried to turn on the fan at night, but probably it was broken, because it would make even more noise. The AC system works well but also extremely noisy. Now about the good part. The location is amazing! The personal is very nice. The shower curtain in our room was broken, but they have fixed it very fast. Breakfast!!! Honestly, the best hotel breakfast I had in the US. Also there are complimentary bottles of water which is really nice considering the Miami weather. The hotel was going through the renovation process. Of course after it will be much better, but the price will definitely go up not a little... Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"You get what you pay for!"
The staff at the Blue Moon were very nice, however, we had to change rooms 2 times due to the hot water not working. When we finally were settled, there was a leak from another room right into the bathroom, so every morning we woke up and had to place towels on the floor because it was soaking wet. We did not want to go thru the hassle of moving again […] and changing rooms so we just did not bring it up. We were looking for a cheap place to stay that was close to everything and thats exactly what we got. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Rate "D" for disappointed"
I arrived early around 9am and found a lovely little hotel with a wonderful, pleasant and accommodating staff. They allowed me to check in very early. The young lady behind the desk even helped me with the old fashioned elevator. I cannot say enough how much I really liked the staff. But things began to downhill from the start. As I checked in I was […] given a form to sign agreeing to pay an EXTRA "Amenity Charge" of $10+TAX per night. Amenities I did not want, (Continental Breakfast, Lunchtime Snack, Beach towels and Beach Chairs) but I was told I had to pay for anyway. I've stayed in a lot of hotels and this was a first. The room was very small, so small in fact that one of the bedside units was shoved in the very small closet, which had no shelves or clothes rail or hangers , so nowhere to hang my clothes. I went down to the desk to see if they could just give me the rail and hangers and i'd take care of it myself but I was told by the maintenance man the rails and hangars were "on order" and should arrive in a few days. Both bedside units had a very strong smell of whatever cheap compressed wood units are glued together with. When i opened the drawers of the one in the closet 3 of the 5 handles came off in my hand. The unit was dusty inside and the top was stained with what looked like some dried up sticky liquid. So I kept my clothes in my suitcase which i had to keep closed and standing in a corner as there was no place to put it. Remember, the broken, smelly bedside unit is squeezed into the closet. Anyway... undeterred and determined to have a great few days, i decided to take a shower to freshen up before heading out to enjoy South Beach. The bathroom was nicely done, clean, modern with a few nice touches. However, the toilet water kept running so the cistern kept on hissing as it tried to fill. Despite several jiggles of the handle it just kept running, and did so the entire time, which was frustrating at night when trying to sleep, not to mention the enormo Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Hotel is old, ok location"
Hotel is old and not very nice, but is conveniently close to the beach. You can walk one block to Ocean drive and you are at the beach. There is no parking garage, so we ended up having to pay for valet parking for $27 per day. There is also an additional "amenities fee" for $10 per day that was not included in the price we paid through hotels.com. […] So we ended up paying $37 more per day than what we initially anticipated. Other than that the hotel is priced ok, and is not a bad place to stay. There are plenty of shopping and restaurants within walking distance. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Blue Moon Hotel In Miami ,Fla."
The room and bathroom were nice. The mini bar and bath robes were pleasant added features. However, the air conditioner was toooo loud. The light from under and around the door was annoying, as well as the tiny little bugs that were everywhere and the carpet couldv'e been cleaner. The hotel was convienently located and the staff was super nice.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not so much"
The staff was really nice and tried to help. But there was one day that my room wasn't cleaned and I had to ask for towels twice. Also, their valet service couldn't find my car for over an hour. They compensated me though. Oh, almost forgot the roach in my room. Really close to the beach though, haha.Genuine Expedia guest review
"GOOD LOCATION BUT NOT A FOUR STAR"
This is a great location if you are planning to hang on South Beach. I reserved a double room and was placed in a king room with a rollaway. There was no acknowledgment of the discrepancy during check in. I was told I needed to walk down to get a new room. The next room was a handicap accessible room wdown the hall from the front desk. I could hear […] the front desk agent checking in guest with clarity. I called to ask if there was another double room available. I was surprisingly moved. The room had a flat screen tv and a beautiful view of Collins. However, the a/c leak wet the clothing hanging in the closet. Also, the comforter had a fresh orange color stain (which was changed upon request.). Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"good location, but small rooms"
Although the rooms were small, I guess the same could be said about all the string of hotels around this busy area. Location was great for partying and shopping, and we were super close the beach. The hotel did run out of toilet paper and we didn't know how to use the elevator that looked like it was built in the 1920s... overall it was fine, a little […] pricey for what it was, but keep in mind it was also new years eve. "Great Location, but extra charges"
The hotel was OK nothing special. The rooms were on the small side, and clean. The location was perfect one block away from the beach and one block away from the main road. Be warned that it might not be that safe here at night. I was traveling by myself and approached by multiple prostitutes at night. They seem to hang out around this hotel and in […] some of the near by bars. I was also shocked to learn that the hotel had a $10 per night "amenity fee". Even though I prepaid for the room they still came up with additional charges. Also when I check out, they told me that I had used the mini-bar when in fact I had not. Bogus. "Convenient but short on amenities"
Pro: (1) Located in the heart of South Beach, one short block from the beach and ocean-front tourist attractions. (2) All tour buses will pick up from the location. (3) Room was acceptably clean and comfortable. (4) The staff was friendly and courteous, although the check-out process was slow. Con: (1) Mandatory "amenities" fee of $11.30 per day, even […] if you don't want their breakfast or discount bar coupons. (2) The "breakfast" consist of cold cereals, hard-boiled eggs, limited selection of fruits, and bread -- nothing enticing. (3) WiFi in the newer (non-smoking) wing of the building was almost non-existent. I ended up using the wifi from the next hotel (Princess Ann), which had a stronger signal. (4) The bath tub had no door or shower curtain, just a "French" half-panel, so you can't avoid wetting the floor if you actually shower. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"It had some ups and downs, but overall it was ok."
A few operational problems (such as internet access not working, sometimes vallet parking would delay, water wasn't always available at the open bar), but in general it was all right. Staff was friendly and breakfast was good, room and location were ok.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great Location, Decent Hotel for the Price"
The hotel is in a great location. The room walls were thin. I heard my neighbors talking and laughing as I was trying to fall asleep. Decent value if you really just want to hit South Beach and only stay in the room to sleep.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great hotel until our last night..."
We loved this hotel until our last night there. Room was clean, had a great view of pool, and we loved the breakfast. Location was fabulously close to shopping and beach! Noise was somewhat of an issue at night (with kids returning from the clubs), but I always travel with earplugs and wasn't very bothered. Our last night there, we saw people fornicating […] in the pool and nothing was done after frequent calls to the front desk. It was pretty disgusting considering families use this pool. Small room. Window not possible to open. Looked like a cheaper hotell. Bathroom OK. No parking (had to use valet parking). Our room was close to the backyard, and also close to the swimming pool with noise early in the morning. Very noisy air condition.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"The Blue Moon is fine as a small hotel with limited facilities."

"Good despite the refurbishment work"
Hotel is in process of refurb. Our room was part finished (it had been recently painted but was fitted with old furniture). Entire second floor currently out of service. Work crew in action from about 8am to 7pm (even at weekends albeit for shorter hours). Pool area currently closed due to the ongoing work. Found room to be very noisy - walls must be […] made of paper and the windows allowed at lot of the South Beach late night/early morning clamour in. Very helpful staff. Pleasantly surprised by range (although not quality) of breakfast offerings. The 10 USD (plus tax) per room per day "resort fee" is worth paying (not that you get a choice!) as you will more than get value if you use the various amenities. The front desk can arrange a variety of tours (which are worth considering as they were usually better value than getting your own transport and admission tickets). This hotel will soon become part of the Marriott group (although it will retain its independent identity as part of the Autograph Collection). The finished rooms looked very smart. Fantastic location between 9th and 10th on Collins Ave. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Miami mediocrity"
I would like to make these points brief: Clean room, but bland. White, bare walls in my room. The window looked out onto a filthy alleyway. Staff were polite and courteous, and I happily chatted to one employee in the hotel bar. No parking available for the hotel. My stay was ok, but I stayed at nicer motels for half the price. Mix of negatives […] and positives here. Overall I thought this hotel pretty mediocre. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"South Beach"
Stayed at the Blue Moon for 2 days in Feb. 2011. It is an older buiding with older furniture. This is not a five star hotel by any chance. However if you are looking for a well located property in the middle of the action area of South Beach this will work. basically this is a place you book to get acess to your location. It is not the type of property […] that is a destination. It is dated but reasonable clean. Continental breakfast was well presented but basic. The staff were friendly enough. So if you are looking for a relatively well priced hotel for location this will work. If you a looking for luxury try elsewere. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"God beliggenhet"
