The Clevelander has a great location for beach/restaurants, is clean and in good shape, rooms are frugal. However it is the PARTY capital of Ocean Drive. The music starts at 6:00pm and goes on all night until 5:00am. It is LOUD and non-stop!!!! There is no possibility of getting any sleep in the place until after 5:00am. The Clevelander is truly the party hotel of the Miami Beach strip. They provided complementary Pina Coladas at checkin and all the hotel staff were nice and friendly. The staff try really hard to make sure you have a great experience. There are some things to be aware of: (1) If you get a pool view room, expect to be able to hear everything outside. […] The Clevelander plays very loud club music late into the night (ie. 4AM on weekends) and it may be hard to sleep. (2) The bathroom doors are thin and frosted. As a result, you'll be able to see and hear whatever is happening in the bathroom. (3) The rooms are minimally designed, so there won't be lots of tables and chairs in the rooms. The only drawback was even though we booked two nights in an ocean front view room, they were overbooked so they substituted us for a pool view room. The ocean front view rooms are much better than the pool view rooms, so it wasn't a fair substitution. The hotel service was excellent. We were greeted with a pina colada welcome drink. We enjoyed the upper deck atmosphere and the service up there was excellent. They brought us lunch and drinks as we lounged on the deck plus bottles of water and wet towels at no additional charge. We arrived on a Sunday and the following day Monday there was no service […] on the deck, only if you use the phone on the wall to call your order. The hotel was directly across the street from the heart of South Beach. There was always plenty of late night action and partying on the downstairs pool level with happy hour drink and appetizer specials. It is a very loud party atmosphere with loud music for those whom come to South Beach to party this is the place to be. Unfortunateley there was no pool open which was a bit upsetting. Over all a great party hotel. If you plan to go to a place to relax I would not recommend. However ear plugs were provided in case you need to go to bed early. Read more

Nice and clean. Room had no dresser for clothes. Had tp pile your stuff on the bed. No fridge. Room was nice but cramped. If you set at a table you had to order something or you could not set there. First - preface, we were upgraded to an ocean view room with a balcony which was beautiful. However the room was handicap accessible which makes it a bit strange for those who don't need it (oddly placed, furniture, strange shower without bath, etc). The hotel is an extreme party hotel, the music is loud from 1 PM - 4 AM (they say 5 AM, but I'm pretty […] sure it ended earlier). You can hear it clearly in your room, so if you don't plan to party with frozen sugar alcohol drinks at about $11 until 5 AM, I would not recommend this hotel. Read more

The Clevelander is the ideal destination for 20 somethings that want to bar hop around Ocean drive. Upon arriving at the hotel, we were warmly greeted by the hotel staff, and given a complimentary pina colada, which I found to be a nice touch. The room was small but clean. I only had a problem with the bathroom. There were windows in some awkward parts […] of the bathroom that are not pleasant if someone else is in the room. I was told that they are fixing this problem, but it was my one major problem I had with the room. The Clevelander touts a large list of bars on site, however during the week the pool bar is the only one that is open. The bar is hoppin until about 2-3am, so if you are looking to go to bed before then, you are out of luck. Rates were reasonable for the area, and valet was comparable to local independent lots. If you looking for the classic Ocean drive experience, this is a great place to stay... just don't expect quiet relaxation. Read more

We felt the Clevelander was extrememly overpriced! It was an ocean view, but you didn't have a balcony and couldn't even open the windows to hear the ocean. There was no hot tub and the pool closed at sundown. The bathroom had glass/see through walls so there was no privacy. The rooms were TINY! When we walked in and saw the epoxy floor (no carpet) […] and white walls, it made us feel like we were walking into a hospital room! Quite nice hotel but REALLY noisy, though they offer free ear plugs in rooms. Pool is in the middle of the terrace bar so it's quite useless for sun hunters (there is sun deck on the roof, but no pool there). Rooms were clean and stylish. Food and drink prices were quite high.
