My family loved the Winter Haven! It's a nice Art Deco hotel that has been recently restructured. The beds were extremely comfortable, the rooms smelled... clean (yes, there were a few spots on the carpet, but nothing I would consider a deal breaker), the bathrooms are brand new, the staff was really nice (particularly, Mariya, I hope I spelled that right!). We did valet parking for our cars, but there is a public parking a few blocks away. The location is great: right across from the ocean and Lummus Park (you can see the palms from the hotel lobby), within walking distance to Lincoln Road and Espanola Way. We had children with us and we felt the area immediately close to the hotel was really safe (we did not go out very late at night, though). The hotel has a deck on the 6th floor with a nice view on the area and the ocean. The front porch is a great place to people-watch. Breakfast was fine, although they might have needed a few more tables. There were bagels, muffins, cereals, pastries, milk, coffee, tea, yogurt and fruit.
