"Awful Experience"
i stay in hotels 80% of my life and this is the worst customer service i have ever had. it's a very typical Miami hotel where the lobby is very nice and the rooms are just OK. the only good part about the hotel is it's close proximity to the beach and the good restaurant attached. other than that it's garbage. "Horrible staff, not helpful in the least"
I called for several days before I could even get someone at the front desk to make a change to my reservation. Each call resulted in about 20 minutes on hold with either to be hung up on or told to call back, no one could help me. The agent I finally reached told me she noted the change in the reservation, however when I went to check in the guy that […] helped me said he had no record of the change, that I forfeited my reservation and that I had to pay a second time. "Poor service, clogged shower and toilet, rude staf"

"Beware of Houskeeping"
For the most part I enjoyed my stay at the Essex, but if you chose to stay here, beware of housekeeping. While housekeeping cleaned my room, I guess the $5 tip I left for them wasn't enough. Two bags in the room had clearly been opened and looked through, fortunately nothing was taken, but I attribute that to the fact that there was no cash or other […] items of value to be taken. "HORRID!"
HORRIBLE! they dont allow you to bring food from outside places back to your room. (you are only allowed to eat at the restaurant that is in the lobby) you are not allowed to have guests visit your hotel they charged me because they thought i snuck a guest in my hotel they tried to make me pay for a drink that some man at the pool bought me the […] pool did not open until the last day of my stay there was NO CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST! (which is listed on the hotel description) room service does not clean your room unless you call and ask for them to clean it! they make you wear a arm band the whole time of your stay so they can identify you when you are walking thru the doors!
