"Never again!!! Horrible experience--0 stars"
We give it 0 stars. We travel a lot both in US and abroad. The only positive was Rafael the concierge. Other than that, horrible. We were told at check-in that it had been purchased by Wyndham and would be remodeled again in the near future. Wyndham should shut it down today and level the place. The entire hotel seems to be in a bad, malcontented holding […] pattern and the guests suffer as a result. Broken beds and furniture mismatched and taken straight from the 1980s. Rooms were filthy and looked like they had been furnished with whatever fell off the truck. Not safe. Our door looked like it had been kicked in. Parts of the vent were falling from the ceiling. I decided to head to the pool one day and was challenged at the entry by a "security guard" only to find out that the pool is rented out to some external "beach party" (maybe to locals?) and half the pool deck and area is rented out to this external group. Really insulting--especially when one is paying a daily resort fee for towels (really?), internet access (you're kidding??) The "fee" is also for a continental breakfast that the front desk told us ran to 11 a.m. to find once we arrived at 10:30 one morning that it actually ends at 10. (Or did it?) The place is poorly managed, needs to be overhauled completely and Wyndham needs to know that they have A LOT to overcome. "In major need of room renovations."
This might have been the worst bathroom I've ever had in a room. Could not get a normal shower, as is oscillated between scalding hot and freezing cold. the night table drawer was broken, one of the over head light bulbs was out and the bed was cracked in the middle which was braced. "Shelborne, South Beach"
The location is great, and the pool and its staff were very nice. We were in a renovated room, however you can tell that the renovations were done hastily with towel racks installed upside down and bright blue wiring tacked on the walls. There is also only one functioning elevator, so they are packed and take forever. The front desk was tough to deal […] with. Our room wasn't ready until almost 5pm and when we called the night before for our car to be in front for 430am the next morning so we could make our flight, they had not done it. "Very unkind, noisy, inconvenient"
I was very excited to stay in a hotel where is located in Miami Beach before I stayed for 4 nights. If you want to enjoy only beach, it could be good because Miami beach is far away from Shelborne hotel. However I would not like to recommend to sleep this hotel at all. After 20:00 PM this hotel will not allow you to swim in its pool. Also you will listen […] to terrible noise all nights from upstairs and your next door. Also even this reservation says that "Ocean view" , but it will not be actual ocean view room. Also security guards are very unkind and very offensive. For the last 4 nights were like nightmare to me. Anyway, if you want to listen to noises, or to meet unkind guards, you will be good. Otherwise, you would like to enjoy to horror movie, I would like to recommend of you in this hotel. Oh, the receptionist a girl who reserved my room seemed to be very unkind. "Excelente ubicacion"
Lo mejor del hotel claramente es su ubicacion. En cuanto a la habitacion deja harto que desear, tenia muy poco luz y el colchon estaba roto, pero era muy grande.
