I was very pleased with the stay, although it is an old hotel the room was clean, linens were clean & fresh, the beds were comphy, the pillows were comphy and it was cozy. If I had to knit-pick I'd say there were two things I was less than thrilled about 1, the elevator was out of order and our room was on the third floor and the bath/stall although […] clean looked grungy due to the need of re-caulking. The hotel staff were very nice and very helpful. The location was excellent, only a few steps to the gorgeous beach. Only a 15 - 20 minute bus ride to South Beach. We upgraded to get a balcony and it was worth it. the only problem was the parking meter process. You could buy a tag from the hotel for a day but we still got a ticket. And the machines […] that are supposed to take your credit cards did not work. I suggest using coins in the meter, which we got from the front desk. "Oldie but goodie."
The appearance of this hotel is old but it provides what you you need--beds that are comfortable, a small fridge, and the room looks old but is clean. We came early and they locked up our luggage for us. We liked the breakfast on the porch--bagels with cream cheese, sweet buns, cold cereal, OJ, and coffee. Across the street from the beach! If you are with very limited funds and in need of a vacation, this hotel is for you to consider Yes the elevator was out of service but there is only 4 floors....If you cannot handle that low amount of stairs, then good luck trying to swim in the Ocean Most of the time we were exploring Miami Beach that we only used the hotel to clean the sand from […] ourselves. "Ocean Surf, right on the beach"
The only downside was that the hotel only had one set of towels, so the cleaning service would pick up the dirty towels in the morning and it would be late afternoon until we got replacements.
