"Pleasant stay overall"
Hotel was decent, got your money's worth. Friendly staff too. Big downside was that the site listed valet parking for $30.00 which is decent for that location but the hotel DOES NOT offer valet. The continental hotel is ideal for those visitors intersted in shopping but not for visitors staying out pass elen at night. I was disappointed at the parking garage that does not allow guests to arrive past eleven at night. The party is just starting in Miami at 11pm. "Great stay for the money!"
The Continental Hotel is very typical South Beach. The hotel is beautiful in appearance, but lacking a clean look from inside. My room was very clean, but, where doors were once painted, there was paint drippings and rub outs on the floor and walls. I know this is being "picky"...but, I don't understand why they allowed this to be, when another half […] minute of cleaning up..the hotel could look immaculate. The desk people were very nice in spite of themselves. I could tell they really didn't want to be nice, but they saw to it my needs were met. The outdoor pool is huge...and the surrounding court yard was very well kept (clean), however the outdoor furniture was in terrible condition. They pad lock the back board walk gate at 7:30pm, which I thought a bit early. When the gate is locked, a long walk is necessary, in and around three or four other hotel's in order to go to the beach. Further, the walls of the hotel rooms are paper thin, and I mean PAPER THIN. One can hear whats going on four doors down the hall. None of any of the negative aspects mentioned really effected my stay. The price was right, and I had a great two days.
