"Worth the price. Fun and unique and indulgent."
We loved this place. It was the most fantastic kind of tacky luxury. The pool area is amazing with its view and the waterfall. The cafe was also pretty good and the chocolate bar had very good sweets. We will definitely be returning.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"nice inn could use more amenities"
I know it's the Madonna Inn. Room was beautiful. I'm used to a fridge, microwave, bath tub, coffee etc. and the room was all show. Bed was comfy just would have liked a few extras for the money. "destination hotel over-the-top just for fun"

while the rooms are fun, the rest of the hotel is just a little bit too tacky and low budget. the cocktails at the bar were unacceptable - yet priced as if they were a high end lounge. we left after one drink. the cafe was equally as mediocre - and you can't really walk to anywhere else since it's a remote location. i would stay somewhere else. the […] rooms aren't that cool. "The hotel is pricey, but fun..."
We had the China Flower Room. The room was decorated nicely, and was very clean. We had people on each side of us, and could not hear any noise. The pool is awesome. Had a cocktail while enjoying a beautiful view of SLO. The food is excellent, and the pastries are fantastic. The ambiance is mysterious, and you find yourself asking about the history. […] The only minor issue was a noise in the attic above the bed that seemed to come from a possibly bad water pipe, and the bedspread had many stains with what appeared to be a red liquid.
