Paradise Resort

We had an amazing time at the hotel. It was an off peak time. The rooms and specially the bathroom were superbly clean. I was impressed to see how clean the carpet and the bed sheets were. The staff was very polite and ready to help all the time. Even near the pool a personnel was always there to keep an eye on people's activity. The feature that surprised […] us most was the unlimited free rental DVDs! We saw two new movies during the night. We wished they would have kept sugar and milk/ creamer in the room along with coffee as we had to go down to buy one. But it is conveniently located near a store too in case one doesn't want to go the restaurant in the resort. The only other thing was that the resort office is not within the main building so in the night we didn't feel like going down to get another movie but guess nothing much can be done about it as that this how the building is structured. This was our second stay and I really like this hotel. The room needed some quality work done on it but we were comfortable and our view was wonderful(it was raining but we didnt mind) The kitchen is helpful and stocked well.

Pros: Overall good place to stay. Area and location good. Hotel & room clean and well kept. Close to many activities, shopping, and places to eat. Cons: In-room kitchen had only limited utensils... No wash cloths or dry towels for dishes. Exercise room is small and has limited equipment.

This is an average beach hotel, but being right on and overlooking a very nice beach makes it very worth staying here. when we checked in, the desk clerk told us we had been upgraded, but the room we were given matched exactly the room description we paid for. We enjoyed our stay at the Paradise Resort. The only complaints is that the walls are really thin, and you can hear everything. And the Jacuzzi was the perfect temperature. But I don't like how the little kids were in the jacuzzi with adults. That was not okay! I think there needs to be an age limit. The staff was very cordial and helpful. However, the maid cleaned the room and took our extra pillow with the linen to be cleaned. I was surprised when I arrived to learn we had to pay $100 security deposit. We were not prepared for this and was not told about it before hand. We were told we would get it back when we checked out. At checkout, the girl […] refused to give us the deposit or a statement saying we would get it back. So my wife and I were looking to get away for 1 night and we decided to give the Paradise Hotel a try. It was good except for 2 reasons... 1. When we got to our room the balcony door was wide open, so we closed it. We then went out to eat and by the time we got back it smelled like pure smoke. The only thing we could figure is that someone smoked in […] there before we got there and the cleaning lady left the door open all day to air it out! So we left the door open all night and even when we left. 2. The beds were EXTREMELY hard!!! My wife and I didn't sleep much at all. Other than that we had a nice stay at the Paradise Hotel. We needed a few days away and everything was perfect. Room was very clean and well furnished. It was very relaxing and had a beautiful view of the beach. Price was very good and we would love to do it again before the busy season comes back. Thanks to the owners of the condo for allowing us to share it for a few days.

Hotel and room were fine. Bed was comfortable and room was clean. Nice view of the beach, though it was rather foggy at times when we were there. The only thing was the AC controller in our room was missing batteries somehow, and we couldn't control the AC. The WiFi was fine when it worked, but it had its share of hiccups too. Breakfast was ok for additional $7.95/person, though it would be nice to have proper orange juice, either freshly-squeezed or the pulp type, not the syrup type, especially after being charged an extra $1.68 for it. But it was fine, it's not that much and more or less personal preference. The waffle machine and freshly cooked eggs were nice. The lazy river and the spa were nice. The hotel staff person at the registration desk was not very friendly and only wanted to make her little speech that she has to give to people as they register. No chit chat nor pleasantries exchanged, only a cold stare. Our room was an efficiency with a side view of the ocean. The view was very limited and there was only a very small portion of the […] ocean viewable due to another hotel next to the Paradise obstructing the vies. We tried to upgrade to a ocean front but we were told none were available yet there was only one other room on our floor that we saw guests going in and out of during our 5 night stay. I think the clerk just didn't want to be bothered with changing our location even though we were willing to pay the difference. This place does not provide amenities commonly found at other hotels. Examples, if you want to wash your hands you had better take your own soap. If you want to shower and wash your hair the same thing applies they don't provide soap, body wash nor shampoo. Need to blow your nose, take your own tissues because they don't provide them in the room. Want to make a cup of coffee or tea in the hotel provided coffee maker, take your own because they do not provide coffee or tea. I also suggest you take some disposable hot drink cups because they will leave the same 4 cups in your room without washing or exchanging them with clean cups. The room was reasonably clean and our beds were made and clean towels left every day. I could not tell for certain if the carpet was vacuumed during our stay for sure but I suspect not. The location is good because it is far enough from the center of Myrtle Beach to be a little less hectic traffic wise. Parking was adequate with easy access in and out. There are 4 centrally located elevators and the move quickly so you don't have to wait very long to get on or off. The room walls were paper thin, you could hear everything around you. Our air conditioner was broken and the hotel was unable to fix it. The women at the front desk were very rude and had terrible customer service skills.
