I had searched on hotels.com and picked this one because it was on the beach, fit my budget, and had decent ratings. I was surprised (maybe by my own... fault) that it was multiple buildings and not one hotel, but it was easy enough once I found registration. The fact that it was further down Ocean Blvd was good - away from the spring break ruckus. I was put in a smaller building and from the outside, I was super nervous because it was obviously older and there were no elevators, etc. Inside, though, it was clean, the beds were good. Biggest issue - the bathroom light was super dim and I had to shower with the door open to the brighter light in the room. by One night stay from Greenville, SC on 04/01/13

Location.
This Myrtle Beach resort is located right on the beach. The Grand Strand and the Market Common are within 1.5 miles of the resort, and Broadway at the Beach is less than 5 miles away.

Springmaid Beach features six pools and two lazy rivers. The resort offers two restaurants: Marlin's Buffet, serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner; and Café on the Pier, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. A mini-golf course, a fitness center, and an arcade are on site. Access to the adjacent 1,060-foot Springmaid Pier is available to guests who have recreation wristbands. This Myrtle Beach resort is smoke-free.

loved that it was right on the beach and away from the boardwalk and all the congestion. pool water was a little too warm for my liking. some garbage on the roof below our porch which was an eyesore.

We so enjoyed our beautiful room looking out to the back pools, grassy area and ocean. We were afraid it might be a partial ocean view, but it was straight on. It was so beautiful to wake up to that we left the curtains open at night, which were on sliding glass doors going out onto the balcony. We woke up naturally to the sun coming up in the am. Beautiful […] beach, so nice to just be able to walk out to. It was too cool for swimming outside, so we appreciated the indoor pool. Had the buffet at the restaurant, food wasn't that great and not much variety. Would definitely return. Read more

It was just me and I enjoyed my stay very much; however, I would highly recommnend it to a family. The resort is right on the beach but there are lots of activities for children not near the beach. Pools, grassy areas, etc. There is a pier nearby and the resort gives you a free entrance to the pier. The views from the rooms are great and the location […] is peaceful and open. The addition of a full fridge in each room is a great plus. There is also a microwave. The only warning is that you should know that check in is across the street. Read more

Beautiful Location, Quiet, restful. Stayed in the Life Oak Building (most northern). There was conference at the Resort, so there was a little Congestion on check in, but all-in-all, a very minor problem. Staying at the resort allowed access to a 1000' fishing pier, a discount on fishing, and use Swimming pools. The pier is a very popular fishing point […] and there is additional charge. The restaurant on the property serves Buffet meals and reasonable prices, but it is cafeteria style and the food is nothing special. We did not eat there. Read more
