Springmaid Beach Resort

Very nice hotel. Grounds are beautiful. The pier is great. Plenty to do. Beach, mini golf, many pools inside and out. Bring your own beach chairs and beach towels as the hotel does not provide them. You can rent chairs in season. Overall really enjoyed our stay. I would go back. Rooms are bright and very nice.

It was nice , was disappointed that we were in the smaller hotel and on the second floor. When I checked in I asked for the 1st floor because there was no elevator. I told them we had some one with a handicap but when they told us our room number it was on the second floor. Very tough for her to do stairs over and over. I was surprised (maybe by my own fault) that it was multiple buildings and not one hotel, but it was easy enough once I found registration. The location was wonderful - the last hotel on the stretch, nestled between the Springmaid pier and Myrtle Beach State Park, with an additional pier. The hotel is just enough far away from the boardwalk area that the crowds are not as solid, but close enough if you want to go to that tourist area. Very conveniently located near the newly developed Market […] Commons area. I have stayed at several hotels in Myrtle Beach and normally complain about the cleanliness and upkeep (unless you are in a 4-5 star property). I would rate the Springmaid at the top of its class and plan to return again in the future. It does have more of an extended stay feel (at least the building we were in did), so you may want to bring your own pool towels. The grounds are spacious and feel safe. Read more

This hotel says they did floor to ceiling remodeling. This is a bit of a stretch. The bedding was new looking but the bath, low vanity counter, dented and dirty refrigerator did not make the room feel remodeled. The rest of the room was clean though. The hotel is located in the flight path of the airport so sleeping past 6:40am is not possible. bathroom is a bit dark, carpet need some cleaning. You need to carry all your luggage to your room as there is no lift available in the part of building where we stayed in. We have a nice view to the pier from our 3rd floor balcony.

For the most part, our stay was great! However, in our 5 night stay, we failed to receive room service two times. We called front desk and they took care of it within an hour - but, it was somewhat inconvenient. In addition, our neighbors in the next room were up all night, one night, with loud and foul language and music!

I really enjoyed the hotel. Clean and comfortable room. The Barnacles Restaurant was a very fun place to relax, great food. The live music on the pier made my vacation more enjoyable. Only negative was heated pool was cold. Staff was a little rigid with early check in or late check out. Reasonable prices for food and gifts.

We arrived very early on a busy weekend, but they still let us check in. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. The room is older but updated it is quite large and comfortable. The view is superb. The pools are nice and easy to access. The best part of this hotel is the beach! A lot less foot traffic than the regular part of the beach. […] Very easy to get on and off of. My first time staying here and I loved it! Ample parking, great staff, clean rooms. I had a window overlooking the ocean. The grounds were well kept. All on site restaurants had good food at reasonable prices. It was very family friendly. Non smoking rooms. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and will come back!

we enjoy the hotel. it's close to many restaurants and attractions and we really like that you can walk right out to the beach. that's great for families with small kids. some upgrades and maintenance could really improve the hotel, but that didn't negatively affect our stay. good rates on the rooms.

We were mostly satisfied with our room and would probably book again. It is on South Myrtle Beach, so it was necessary to drive to go to most of the attractions, however, this also meant that it was quiet and peaceful. It was like having our own beach so driving a bit was worth it for us. You could tell they have been in the process of upgrading as […] our counters were all granite and there was laminate flooring. It also included an apartment size refrigerator and microwave (which was highly unexpected). The bathroom definitely needed to be upgraded. The room was clean and the beds and pillows were super comfortable. The biggest fault (which has nothing to do with the resort) was that the local airport flew their planes directly overhead. A plus, was we were on the fourth floor and barely noticed it. In fact, after the first day, I don't recall ever noticing the noise. The Barnacle bar leaves a lot to be desired, not what I was expecting and not worth the money, The grounds were beautifully manicured, the pools were clean, and we had an amazing view. My family visted this hotel from 8/21/12-8/24/12 (Mon- Thurs). My husband, 2 1/2 year old daughter, 15 year old sister-in-law and myself went and had a blast! We stayed in a Standard 2 Bed Suite in the Palametto Building. The room was great, the only eye sore was rust spots all over the white refrigerator- no biggie to us, it was full size w/ an ice […] maker and worked great! We went to the local Food Lion less than 5 min away from the resort and stocked up on chips, lunch meat, cereal, milk- all the basics so we wouldn't have to eat out for every meal. The hotel offers an on site restaurant that looked very nice and Barnacles Bar and Grill on the Pier was very nice (cheapest food item hot dog $2 or burgers/sandwiches $6-8, fries $4, etc.). All the rooms have a beach/ ocean front view! We had 3 pool areas that our room over looked, kiddie pool, indoor/outdoor 3.5'-5' and a lazy river. All were very nice and keep very clean, plenty of lounge chairs. And you have access to the 2 other buildings and 3-4 more pools! The beach was beautiful, about 1.5-2 miles from all the centrally located hotels so you definitely have more privacy. Check in and out was fast and easy! A first time for my family not having to wait around to check in, esp when using a third party like Expedia to book with. Got a great deal from booking with Expedia! Will go back again!! Read more

We had a great time, sun burn on the first day on balcony so lazy river was wonderful once shaded. Room was dirty under bed when arrived, but we like when asked for service - we just get towels and they would leave us alone to enjoy the days. Frig was good to keep drinks and small things like hot dogs, ice cream, etc.

Springmaid has a wonderful private beach, several pools, lazy river, putt-putt, and an exercise facility. The grounds are nicely maintained and, by virtue of its location tucked away at the end of the strand, feels secluded even though it is only a few minutes to shopping, movies, restaurants, etc.

Check-in at 4:00pm and no earlier. Every balcony faces the ocean! Room condition was a little worn but comfortable. The beds were very comfortable. We enjoyed our stay although the information given during on-line booking said that the resort offered a free breakfast, which it doesn't. We went to the resort breakfast to find a very nice AYCE breakfast […] feast, but it wasn't free. We did eat there and enjoyed it very much but we had not budgeted for it. The resort is convenient and family oriented. They set up umberellas and chairs on the beach for rental and a lifeguard is on duty during the day. Overall, we relaxed and enjoyed our stay very much. A walk on the resort's pier is free as long as you are wearing a resort wristband. We found at least one shark's tooth every day. Watched dolphins, pelicans and osprey feeding. Went to Huntington Beach State Park nearby and saw alligators. Some guests were a little rowdy around the pool, though. Read more

Overall, our stay was pleasant. The hotel is located in the flight path of the nearby airport and the air conditioner was noisy cutting off and on all night making sleeping challenging. Also, our carpeting was wet????? The front desk staff was very nice and the beach was great.
