First impressions are important, and everyone at the front desk was great. They were helpful and knowledgable of the area. The room was a little dated and in need of some repair. The couch was a little rough and there was paint chipping in the bathroom. The view was fantastic and everything worked. House keeping was their downfall. Stayed for a week at this beautiful hotel right on the oceanfront. Sliding doors out onto a balcony with gorgeous sunrises on the water...great pools, great location right in the heart of myrtle beach. Staff was friendly and very accomodating, restaurant/bar on site with a swim up pool bar in the summer months. WONDERFUL! Can't wait to go back.

The room was clean;comfortable;had all the amenities i.e., stove/refrigerator/microwave with fully furnished cubbards for what you would need for an extended stay. Bathroom was large & clean. We would definitely stay again. Hotel personnel were very helpful & accommodating.

We've stayed here before and that room was really nice. this time the room was ok, but was not as clean. the shower curtain was ragged and falling off the rod. The pillow shams had drool spots on them, and the stove was not clean. Upon 1st entering the room - the smell hit us. It was as though the room hadn't been occupied in a long time. Very musty and stale. Although, it was nothing a can of air spray couldn't fix. So we decided to stay and not complain. THEN, when turning down the bed, one of the pillows had blackish marks on it - looked like mold. So we didn't use that pillow. […] We even removed the pillowcase and set it on top of the pillow with the stain on the top - thinking the cleaning people would see the issue and fit it the next morning when they made the beds. But NO, they put the SAME pillow case back on the pillow (and yes, I have a picture of the stained pillow the 2nd night just in case the Resort should ask for it). FINALLY, the reason for our weekend was to get away from our everyday life and to have an oceanfront room so we could keep the sliding glass door open and listen to the ocean waves while we slept. However, due to the room below us smoking on their balcony (in a smoke-free room) we could not even enjoy that. You would be correct if you guessed that we will not be visiting this facility again. My wife and i just went for the weekend for a get away and i must say i was impressed with the room and the staff. The pool area is amazing. The only bad thing was the location. It isn't within walking distance to any of the family attractions. Besides that it was worth every penny. The room was very spacious and great layout.

I would rate this hotel at 2 to 2-1/2 stars. Arrived on a Thursday, left on Sunday morning. Has 218 rooms and three elevators. I do not recall a time when all three worked at the same time. That became an issue during the weekend when the number of guests increased. On Friday we asked the maid for towels only. She seemed disappointed when we asked her […] to make up the room on Saturday. Although we had used the soap and shampoo provided, replacements were not left when she did our room. The first room they put us in was dark, dingy and dirty. Stained couch, stained bedspread, rusted table & chairs (inside). After we complained and asked for our money back they let us look at the room next door and it was much better. Much nicer furniture, much brighter, smelled much better and cleaner too. Ice machines were PATHETIC! They only had […] 3 for a 15 floor hotel. You had to stand there holding the button for 10 minutes to get a bucket of ice. You need ice in Myrtle Beach in August! Also, as we were checking out, along with tons of other people at 11:00 a.m. on a Sunday, they decide to shut down one of the elevators to clean it. Use some common sense folks! There are pleanty of much better choices in Myrtle Beach than this place. First and last time staying there. Read more

The place could be a 4 star except: Shower head leaked, elevators up/dn arrows did not work, restaurant not open for breakfast, parking was difficult unless you were in a sub-compact. All this would probably not matter to most so give it a try and decide for yourself

Overall it was a nice place to vacation. Nice selection of pools to cool off in. Room was clean and comfortable. Parking was sufficient. Staff were nice. The only thing hardly worth mentioning is that the elevators seemed slow. But that's not enough to justify not staying there. Would definitely stay there again.

We loved the hotel, the hospitality when we checked in and the room was big with a beautiful view. UNFURTUNATELY, we got taken for $100 for a broken glass table. We were only there for 2 nights and it was just my husband and I. It wasn't until we were packing to leave that I noticed the broken glass table....the crack in it was conveniently covered […] up with a placemat and a strategically placed vase. Housekeeping stretched the fable even more by saying maintenance had to clean up all the glass from the carpet. The General Manager did absolutely nothing to see it my way - the fact that WE DID NOT BREAK IT!! If he would have offered to cut it down to $50 or offer us $100 credit on our next visit would have gone a long way with my husband and I. But now we will NEVER return to Sandcastle. Quite a little racket they have there....keep getting paid for the same broken table by leaving it in the room and hope the next fool doesn't think to do a full room inspection before they enjoy their vacatioin. Excellent place! Beautiful view,comfortable beds, nice pool areas, good breakfast buffet (but too many things, like toast cost extra), easy parking. The house maid was a bit lazy. Never vacuumed, & didn't leave tissues, toilet paper, or coffee & creamers, we had to call for them. GREAT STAY! and a fantastic rate!!!
