the site was deceiving...no hot tub or indoor pool there. You had to go thru a parking deck to a sister motel to do all that...and at 28 degrees that night..wasnt happening. I was very disapointed about this experience for one my king bed was a double bed. I didn't get service until the second morning, I had asked for some pillows the night before and they did not come until 9:45 a.m. the next morning. I asked for them around 6 p.m. the night before. Also I was already charged a $20 fee on Expedia and when I checked in they said I owed a state tax of $7 a night. I had a coffee maker in the room and no coffee bags apparently everything is sold separately in the lobby. I tried checking out early but there were no refunds if I did. No amenities (no internet, no breakfast, no COFFEE for the coffeemaker. The person on their nightstaff sent me on a wild goosechase to a restaurant that didn't exist for coffee only AFTER giving me a glib response about where to find coffee (maybe you should try a grocery store or maybe Wal-Mart). The bed was a taco (hard on the outside and soft in the middle so everything collects in the middle) Elevator was slow. Ocean view was only if you hung over the balcony; otherwise your view is of another building. Many of the surrounding hotels were fairly well booked, but there were only 6 cars in the parking lot of this hotel at 5 am when I got up to find non-existent coffee. Do the math. If you want a cheap hotel that is right on the beach, but costs much more than advertised (they actually charge a resort fee) and don't care about sleeping or customer service, this ought to be right up your alley! We were very skeptical of the hotel upon arrival. Old, small, not easily seen from street. The front desk staff was mediocre. Not happy about the last minute "resort fee" charge. I strongly recommend NOT staying here unless you don't care about the security of your items left in the room. Our balcony door would not lock and appeared to have been broken into on several occasions! The room smelled of mold and mildew! "Ocean Plaza Hotel-most disgusting stay ever"
The Ocean Plaza was by far the worst hotel experience I have encountered. There was food in all hallways and stairwells, the beds had dirty linens with boogers and bloody scabs on pillows and sheets. Our room was on the 7th floor, however the elevator only went to the 6th floor. You had to lug all your belongings up and down the last flight of steps. Location not bad right on the beach. Rooms need a real cleaning especially under the beds. Patio door would not lock properly and could be opened by just rattleing the door. well hotel floor was stick and super dirty(black feet within seconds of walking on it), bed sheets smelled like they where not clean, i called to ask for a extra pillow and they said they didn't had any, we immediately went and bought disinfectant , Toilet had poop stains on it , Elevator only goes to the 6th floor *we where on the seven and i specified […] i needed a elevator since i had babies*, Pool wasnt even open. "SLEEP IN YOUR CAR!"
Me and my two friends stayed here for our senior spring break, so keep in mind we are teenagers with very low standards and did not expect that much to begin with. One night when we got back our lights didn't work so we went to the lobby but there was no one there and a sign telling us to come back at 8AM, but apparently this was our fault because we […] were suppose to assume they owned the hotel next door and go over there. After waiting around all day for the maintenance men to come to fix our lights and right after they left our bathroom flooded. All week our sink leaked and our shower drain didn't work. The water flowed out into our room soaking our cloths and ruining my camera. They were reluctant to let us even switch room and wouldn't upgrade us. Overall this was the worst hotel any of us have every stayed at not worth it even if it is a a cheap cost. We felt unsafe going outside and I felt unsafe parking my car in their parking lot. If you care about your life or the lives of the people you are staying with GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. This place is a health hazard and has completely unreasonable staff.
