On the first night though we had just come straight from home right after my husbands dialysis treatment and his access on his arm did bleed a little onto the sheet during the night. Overall our stay was very good. We went in the off-season and loved our time! Unfortunately, a cold rainy front hit that weekend but that certainly isn't the hotel's fault. We had a room closest to the elevator but still didn't hear much of anything outside the walls. As long as the blinds were closed we could sleep until 10 if we didn't set our alarm! […] The beach access is just as simple as walking out the back door and down to the water. Wife and I had a great time. Rooms were very clean, overall place was clean but service was horrible. Every time room was cleaned they took dirty towels and never gave clean ones. Had to call service desk and complain. Recommend getting the ocean view. Our room was on side and we looked at a parking garage of resort next to us. On other side was a building […] that was being restored. Parking sucked but most other resorts had parking across street as well. Customer servie was horrible, when checking out only thing that was said was "you are checked out" that was it no thank you or anything. Overall I would go back just due to the price and location. The 3 Palms is officially our new favorite resort. It had been about 4 years since we had went on vacation, and about 10 years since coming to Myrtle Beach. It will NEVER be that long again. The first thing I noticed was the smell of the bar on the ground floor next to the hotel desk. All I could smell was the sour odor of booze and cigarette smoke. It was late in the evening and the bar had been open for a while. In the morning the odor wasn't really all that bed. The room looked newly updated and was very clean, especially for a hotel located on the beach. I was very pleased with the cleanliness and comfort of the room. It was small for a family of four but we didn't mind since we spent most of our time on the beach. The location was excellent! Family Kingdom is only a block or two away and the boardwalk is also within walking distance. The only negative was the pool area. Entire hotel staff was very friendly and very helpful. Judith was so friendly and helpful above and beyond (Thanks Judith!). The hotel was clean and updated and centrally located to all amenities including airport, amusement park, stores, resturants and a nice long walk to the grand strand. Would definately reccomend the king oceanfront suite, the view of the beach is wonderful. The pictures posted on their website are accurate. The pool is a little on the small side but with less guests it was never an issue. I would reccomend getting to the pool earlier in the day to get a chaise lounge. The only suggestion I would have is that they could add a few more chairs and give the pool deck a good scrub with some bleach. I would stay here again and not even bother looking elswhere. More ocean view rooms (or a room with any view) would be a plus. Most of what we could see were parking garages on one side and an unfinished hotel on the other. But there were two pools and a whirlpool to use when you'd had enough beach. This was nice when the wind kicked up and brought stinging sand with it. The staff was very friendly and room was nice and clean appearing to have been recently upgraded with new carpet, counter tops and furniture. The only negative is the two hotels on either side block your view down the beach such that you can only see directly in front of the hotel.

Next time we'd opt for a larger room, the one we had was very small. The "side view" of the beach wasn't worth having as you had to lean over the rail to see it.
