"It's all about the view."
We had an ocean front room, full kitchen with a king size bed. The hotel looks nice from the outside but our room decor was old. Don't get me wrong, you have everything you need even the kitchen was decently stocked. It's just that the furniture and kitchen fixtures were old and looked it. "Nice Hotel"
We travel to MB area a couple of times per year and have stayed in lot of hotels along the "Strip". Sometimes it's awesome, sometimes unremarkable and 1 or 2 times ICKY. But this one was a good stay. We were in an ocean front Jamaican Room, which is a small set not a part of the main resort. We've stayed in main resort in past and while it's nice, it's […] huge, noisy, hard to find parking, etc. The Jamaican room in Captains House was just 1 block down & at just 3 stories, not crowded. Oceanfront so close that it was easy to hear the waves even with screen closed. Access to beach right beside the hotel. It was a roomy, refurbished efficiency-good tv, air, beds comfy. Separate parking across street, restaurant right beside it, walking distance (1 mile) to boardwalk, skywheel, etc. The only thing we didn't like was a slow draining tub. One thing to note-it's offseason so it was quiet (minus a loud, drunken 20 min conversation outside the door by some partiers) but our room was on 2nd floor directly over pool. "Very Enjoyable Stay"
We stayed for only two nights. The hotel was very nice. The staff were nice and helpful, the room was nice. We stayed in an oceanfront room with a King Size bed. Beautiful view! We also had a full kitchen, that we did not use but it would have been useful if we stayed longer. The only complaint I have for the total experience at this resort is the bedspread […] on the bed. "Clean, covenient and reasonable."
Property and room The hotel itself is in a great location. The room was ocean front, clean and well designed. Our room was in the Dominican Building. Entry from outer corridor lead to the bedroom. Bed was a bit firm, but not that bad. It had a nice TV. However, the back of our bedroom picked up the noise from the elevator operation. That would be my […] only real complaint. The hallway lead through a Galley Style kitchen and past the bathroom. Bathroom was adequate and had an excellent, easy walk in shower. The next area was a sitting room with a nice flat screen TV. The small couch wasn't much, but we did not spend a lot of time at the TV. We did make use of the fold down bed in the wall. Turned out to be our best sleep. The balcony was small, .but had two chairs and a nice view of the beach, hot tub and outdoor pool area. Locaction. Location was perfect for us. We like to walk and walk we did. A 15 minute walk and we were at Broadway at the Beach, you could drive it in three to four minutes. That night, we walked 5 minutes to a Calabash Restaurant. It was very good. The next morning, we walked 5 minutes to the Omega. Best breakfast in town, if you ask me. Later, we walked 9 blocks south to 21st St. and found three good eating/ drinking establishments. We checked out at midnight and went home due to the slamming doors, noise and filthy room conditions. Our shoes stuck to the floors, the carpet smelled, the beds were uncomfortable the bathroom was dirty. It was not an enjoyable experience at all. "NOT SATISFIED"
This hotel had three different building you could stay in. The domanican, caymene,or jamacian building. I had stayed at the domanican building before and had an ocean front room. This time I stayed in the jamacian building that was suppose to be an oceanfront room. It was the total opposite. I could only see the side of the ocean, there was work being […] done to the building on the outside. The room was not as nice as the domanican rooms are.
