"DIAPPOINTING"

"Old but ok-- stay away if you have an SUV or Truck"
It was an ok place to stay but it was old. The parking garage was a nightmare unless you have a compact car. If you have a suv or truck stay away. You can tell that alot of people hit or scraped the wall of the parking garage. Fine dining and shopping was good. I suggest capt George's but it is pricey. We went to pancake stack for breakfast which was […] really good and affordable. We tried to go to mammys kitchen but they wanted 5 dollars to park so that was a no go. Shopping at the outlet mall was fun. We went to boardwalk at the beach. It is a classic tourist trap. If you go take some money. The hotel right next to the beach which is a plus but kinda of expensive. It is probably cheaper in the off season. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Ocean Forest Plaza"
I was a little nervous about the parking garage after reading previous reviews, so I was expecting the worst. When we arrived, it was even worse than I had imagined! I thought my car was going to be stuck in the garage forever! My 10 yr old had to get out and help me negotiate the extremely tight squeeze. Yes, I drive a gas-guzzling SUV, but even the […] over-sized vehicle lot was inadequate. After managing to get out of the garage, we got up to our room, where our key did not work. So we went back down and the ladies at the front dest re-programmed it. It still didn't work. After the 3rd time of re-programming the card and it not working, they thought maybe they would need to call maintenance. It was 8pm, and my children and I had not yet eaten dinner, so we left to eat, and when we got back they said the scanner was cleaned "real well". I still had issues with the key, but it did finally work. I had a problem getting back in every time we left the room, but they said they didn't have another room to give me. The room itself wasn't anything special, but it was adequate. The bed was very comfortable, sofa bed... not so comfortable. There wasn't enough silverware for the 5 of us, so eating in wasn't going to happen unless we ate in shifts. Housekeeping was non-existant. I never even saw a cart out in the hallways. I really didn't care if no one came in to clean the room on a daily basis, but it took 3 requests over a 12 hr period to get clean towels! The location itself is great! We had a nice ocean view, and the beach itself is a short walk across the street. It is away from a lot of the hustle and bustle, but still had plenty nearby. My girls loved the indoor and outdoor pools. I had decided I would never stay there again after seeing that parking garage. I don't know who designed it, but they certainly didn't have any type of engineering degree! It also really bothered me that every time I left the room, I wasn't sure if I'd be able to get back in! The staff was frien Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"3rooms rented"
We rented 3 rooms for our family vacation. All of the amenities talked about, such as water park etc..are at the sister resort 1.5 miles up the road. Rooms are very small. I was told the beds were queen size not doubles but they are doubles. This hotel is across the street from the beach. This hotel has no frills, very basic rooms. We had several broken […] things in the rooms and they are very sparsely equipped. I would opt for another hotel. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not what I expected"
The hotel really needs an overhaul. The picture and the actual hotel is not the same. This is the main issue with booking rooms online, whether with hotels.com or any other site. More research is warranted if sites want to have reoccurring business and continue to thrive in the future. Do the research to ensure that the hotel and the images submitted […] or taken match up. "Horrible Service and Dirty Rooms"
The service was horrible and the rooms were dirty. A cigarette burn in the couch, dirty dishes, dirty floors and I found a receipt from another guest dated two weekd prior to my family checking in. Wander how often they really clean the rooms? And the maid was RUDE when we had to ask for towels at 3:00 in the afternoon because our room hadn't been cleaned […] and restocked. Will NEVER stay here again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Will try another place next time"
Over all staff was friendly and helpful, but the hotel itself was dark and uninviting. The room was okay, beds not that great and th sofa was the most uncomfortable thing to sit on, didn't even open that up. The parking garage was really hard to negotiate. It you had a large vehicle, you needed to park on the street. Was not impressed and won't recommend […] it. Thank you. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Once was enough!"
I have stayed at several hotels and resorts in Myrtle Beach over the past ten years and this is my first negative posting. THIS WAS THE WORST PARKING DECK. The entrance was uninviting with a glass pull-back panel. Then it was off to the parking deck. Reminded me of the needle and camel story in the Bible. This parking deck is horrible to maneuver. We […] wanted a suite and when you first enter the suite, it looks pretty nice. However, it didn't take long for us to realize that the walls were paper thin (crying baby next door), sofa had a cigarrette hole in the front cushion, sofa was very uncomfortable to sit on, light receptacle cover missing in the living area. On the first night of our stay, we woke up to NO WATER and NO TELEPHONE service. The reason was because a hot water heater burst in the room five doors from us. We realize that this couldn't be helped, however, it would have been nice for someone to have knocked on our door to let us know what was going on and what to expect. No one we talked to could even tell us when to expect the water to be turned back on. They also never offerred to move us to another room. Luckily the water came back on about 10 a.m., but the overall experience was a negative one. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Not what we expected"
Not ocean front, you have to walk across ocean blvd to get to the beach. The hotel had staff and when we asked for extra towels they stated they didn't think they would have enough to give us. We had a room for 6 people they had enough towels for 2 people. The fridge door broke and broke several items we had in it and ruined them so our food went to […] the garbage can, on that day and made for another trip to the store. We became locked out of our room, none of our keys worked, thank god my mom was still in the room to let us in. They had to come up and totally redo the whole lock on the door. The next day our keys didn't work again. They had to give us new keys. Most of their activities they advertise end up being off site at the other hotels. The room was dirty, the carpet had that sticky feel to it and the couch was very uncomfortable. The beds barely fit 2 people in them. The only nice thing was that it was quiet and away from downtown and was not as crowded. Wish we would have stayed somewhere else. NOT what they advertise for sure. "Ocean Forest Plaza in Myrtle Beach"
The parking garage is horrible. Good for smaller verhicles but not for most SUV's or Trucks. There is a parking lot for oversized vehicles but there is a list. We have a Honda Pilot and they made us move it to the garage because was not on the list. There are only perhaps 20 spots in the oversized lot. The A/C - no temp controls just writing --with […] a marker--on the thermostat that stated direction to turn for hot and cold and the fridge in our room did not work properly. 2 out of the 3 elevators were torn up most of our 10 day stay. Fire department called one day because elevator got stuck on 23rd floor. Our trip was not unenjoyable but would never stay at this hotel again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
