I think for the price, I expected it to be similar to the Fairfield Marriot in DC where I stayed before - which my family enjoyed. This hotel had a friendly front desk staff which I think is the only plus. The carpets were old, worn and smelled badly. The bathroom was filthy with stains everywhere. The ice machine outside our room made an incessant […] noise throughout the night. The breakfast was minimal and could do with a little work. The walls inside my room and the bathroom had peeling paint and the previous repairs to the drywall was clearly visible. The cover of the ac was loose and came off. The elevator smelled bad. This hotel was very nice, clean, and close to all the offerings of both North Myrtle Beach and Myrtle Beach. (I preferred North Myrtle Beach - where this hotel is - because it was less commercial than Myrtle Beach) My wife has cleanliness OCD and she thoroughly enjoyed our stay. "Fairfield Inn on Grand Strand by Barefoot Landing"
This hotel by no means should carry the "Marriott" name. Though it was suitable to stay in, I would not recommend. The front desk staff was fine but all other services were rather rude. The room was old, but relatively clean. All furniture needs updating, as do linens, etc... The a/c was not working properly, which for a 95 degree day, was not pleasant.
