"Pictures are a year younger than the hotel"

"Missed Potential"
Regardless of price point there are some non-negotiables for any hotel. For me these include: Cleanliness, competency, courtesy, comfort and safety.This Clarion was just ok.It wasn't dirty; it was quiet, the beds fine, It had basic amenities, but nary a working printer ( and no one who could fix it.) Complimentary breakfast, not early enough to take […] advantage (late opening to boot, and manager made excuses.) Most egregious fault was the staff. The person who checked us in was slovenly and disinterested. First room was near the elevator asked to be moved. Moved to opposite end of hall near the back elevator. Really? Not a problem though by second day that elevator was "out of order". Same individual was outside on smoke breaks when guest waiting at front desk. Other front desk person prefaced everything by "I'm new here so I don't know." This hotel would be perceived as much better if they just had people that could maximize its potential. "Never Again!"
The hotel is worn down, with cracked tiles in the bathroom and cobwebs everywhere. Even the brass luggage carriers are old, stained and pitted. The rooms had an odor of mold and the chairs around the pool were dirty and unkempt.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Disappointed"
The hotel was in a run down neighborhood. The room was not as clean as expected and needed maintenance. The bathroom had pealing ceiling paint and it was apparent that the maintenance crew loved to use caulk to cover everything. "Opportunity to become nice property"
We chose this hotel because they allowed small pets. We had a nice view of the intracoastal waterway and enjoyed watching boats go by. The room and hotel left much to be desired. I wish we could post photos as they would speak for themselves. The ceiling was dripping from condensation from the in-room air conditioner. Many places on the ceiling had […] holes where this condensation caused bubbles that then fell off. There was a hole in the guest chair, a hole in the wall by the sliding glass door, and dirty grout in the bathroom. One of the two elevators was out of order and we were told that the elevator was "so old that it's hard to get parts." As a result, the only elevator was always very full. The controls on the tv did not work. I grew up going to the outlets acroos the road, which are now all boarded up. This hotel could be a 3-4 star hotel if it had some cosmetic renovations and the neighborhood came back alive instead of feeling like a wasteland. The staff was friendly and professional. "Clarion - Good alue"
Stayed in earl spring. Price matched far inferior hotels in MB area (others had no interior hallways or elevator and rooms were much smaller). Clarion would be about 15 minute drive to beach but we were there for business so this distance didn't matter. Rooms are extra large, clean with tile showers and sinks- much like pricier hotels. The lobby area seemed nice, but once I went upstairs to my room, the maintenance was awful in hallway, the room was not very clean. There was something that looked like waste from someone's nose on the shower curtain. The housekeeping staff did not change my sheets after first night. The hotel was beautiful when you walk in the door and the pool and hottub area were great. The upper floors where guests stay were dirty carpet but they are in the middle of renovation. "Needs Improvement"
