Nice little hotel with well furnished, clean rooms. Front desk was intelligent and responsive. Good breakfast area. Problem: vacuuming. Odd since everything else was clean. Cracker crumbs in room; no vacuuming in the stairwell for what looked like a week or so. This place was well kept inside and out. The moment i arrived they had everything ready paper work and the crib that i requested.. Decent breakfast.. Good size pool and jacuzzi.. The whole staff was just kind and helpful.. Will be staying there again!!

This was our first time at this Motel. Will definitely recommend and stay here again. Front desk clerk when we checked in was very nice and pleasant to talk to. Rooms were a little small but hey really we just use the room to sleep. Breakfast was very good. Nice variety of foods.

Room was not very clean. Walls are paper thin and you can hear everything. People above us must have been training for a marathon because we heard walking back and forth at all hours. Wish there could be a non smoking side of the building because we couldn't even enjoy the nice chairs outside because smoke kept blowing in our face from the people 2 […] doors down. We love staying at the Microtel. It's close to the ferry to get over to Port Aransas beach, there's an grocery/convenience store nearby for last minute needs and forgotten items, and a few restaurants nearby. The rooms are clean and the whole hotel is smoke-free now, but there are still signs of either people who don't care or from when the hotel wasn't […] smoke-free (burn stains on sink). The rooms are clean when we get back from our day at the beach, however this time we did come back once to a half-clean room, as if they got called away while making the second bed and never came back. You can just follow the road in front of the hotel to go to Port Aransas. Also there is Valero next to the hotel and their gas price was cheapest around there. Have a weekday trip if you can so that you don't need to wait a ferry boat.

All but one employee was very pleasant and helpful! They didn't clean our bathroom one day - of course it was the day after we were at the beach and we had sandy floors to walk on. Over all I would not recommend the place unless there was no where else to stay. I payed for a suite with a queen bed and a queen sofa sleeper for myself and my 2 kids. Well the first night I pulled out the sofa sleeper and it was broke. Funny thing is they new it was broke because they actually put sheets on it. The floor was dirty by the sofa and […] the bathroom floor had hair all over on it. I did get a fold away bed for the oldest but had to have the youngest in the queen bed with me. Overall we were happy with our stay. The room was quite small and cramped, but clean and up to date. The bed was a little too soft...tough on the back...but not overly bad. The printer in the business area was of poor quality and broke down during our stay, so I could not print boarding documents for our flights home.

My only hope was that it was clean and was pleasantely surprised to find that it was a nice hotel. It was clean, nice set-up, decent free breakfast. The only thing I'd say would have made it just short of perfect would have been a better bed. Seemed a bit "wallowed". But overall, would feel comfortable going back.

The hotel was clean, rooms were smallish (2 queen beds) with a little window nook bed-like area that the kids enjoyed. They use a large mirror on the bed-side wall to help the room look larger. No built in closet so the TV stand doubles as a wardrobe. With a few adult-size people it could start to feel crowded quickly. Seemed like the inside of a Holiday […] Inn Express, as far as the decor and overall theme. Room included a refrigerator and microwave, coffee maker and iron. The breakfast was good with waffle makers, sausage, eggs, biscuits, cereal and other continental type foods, so we didn't have to go out for breakfast the 2 nights we stayed. Be sure to get to breakfast before the cleaning staff comes in, apparently they get to eat too before they start their housekeeping. The room was a great rate, about half, compared to nearly all the other hotels around that area, so I was a little concerned, but was pleasantly surprised. It's easy to get to and is on the mainland side, one of the last hotels before you get to the ferry over to Aransas Pass sea side. Read more

Checked in and they did not have two rooms together which we requested. The receptionist then wanted the credit card and drivers license, everything except a finger print. She was nice, but seemed confused like she had just started at that location. We were told that all the rooms were non-smoking but clearly they were not. This place had been renovated […] and probably under new management. After checking the room it was clear that the sheets had not been changed because, we immediately check the linen after seeing reports on dateline tv. Yes there was food crumbs under the bed spread and on the white under sheets. Kids in the room next to us spilled chex mex on the hallway floor about 3 pm on the first day. We made several request for someone to come clean it and no one came. While waiting in line for 1/2 hour to make just one waffle, I decided to step out of line and tell the front desk clerk about the mess in the hallway. He immediately requested a staff member clean the area. An hour later after eating my one waffle and returning to the room the staff member was just getting to the mess. This was 20 hours after it was first reported. There is no view from the rooms except the parking lot and the car wash next door. The room is worth 55 dollars that I originally booked it at but Hotels.com sent a message an hour later to my e-mail saying the hotel was booked. When I called hotel.com they were able to book the two rooms I originally requested at a new price of $63.20 per room. I was to tired to fight about this, so I booked it, but beware this seems to be common. Read more
