"Romantic getaway"
My fiancé and I made our trip down to aransas pass to do our taste testing and final plans for our upcoming wedding and to also scout out the surrounding hotels for some of our last minute guest. I was very uneasy about the hotel by the time we left considering the house keeping staff walked into our room in the middle of the day with no knock, no announcement […] and no apologizes afterward and once we went to the front desk to get a do not enter sign, we heard the entire housekeeping staff talking about house by room number. Upon departure, I spoke with the general manager who showed no concern for this matter which is why we do no recommend this hotel for future trips or for others. This hotel was located in a great area, not far at all from Port Aransas and just a short drive to mustang Island and Corpus Christi. Rooms were clean and service was great. "Alarm system"
Our stay at hotel was pleasent until we were woke up at 645 am sunday because smoke alarm went off. Cooking down stairs and set it off. OK. The trouble we had with it is nobody new how to turn off alarmthey need training on this.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Was disappointed in condition of Hotel. Could tell that it had been nice at one time. Water for shower was warm closer to cold. Had switch to another room, water was still too cold. The windows rattled with the wind. There was a large rip in the sofa arm. The doors on two cabinets in the kitchenette were loose and about to come off. Like I stated before it was a bad experience , with the termites in 1 room and the other room had mice. We checked around area there are other chain Hotels with better prices, and better beds as the ones we had were terrible at Hawthorn Suites. So sorry to say we will not be staying there again. We stayed at this hotel instead of Port Aransas because it was way cheaper. When we arrived we were quickly checked in and when we got to our room it was well air conditioned and clean. Me and my girlfriend took a weekend trip to Port A for some fun in the sun and needed a nice and affordable place to stay for the night. PIcked up a room at Hawthorne for a good price.
