"Just OK....too Much $$ for what you get"
The room was just OK. The bed linens were bad. One thin sheet, no blanket at all. The bedspread was supposed to be the blanket. Yuck. The Travelodge just down the block was only $85 per night and, cleaner and better. Beds at least had sheet and blankets. Better off staying there.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"convinient location"
room spacious and clean .we had no phone in the room and were not told at check in.breakfast was ok good location to all attractionsGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not so great"
Location average, rooms and staff below average, breakfast average...not what we expected. The only positive part of the experience was the young man serving breakfast, everyone else in the hotel was not at all enthusiastic to help with anything! The room had mold stains on the ceiling, and you had to wait forever to get any hot water in the sink. Location […] is not walking distance to historic part of St. Augustine. "It's the little things"
No pot in the coffee maker. The hot (?) water might have hit 80 degress. Beware of mattresses with an added pad. It was a little rough on my back. They advertise Wi-Fi. I couldn't find it.This is the first hotel I ever stayed at that did not promote businesses in the immediate area for dining or shopping. The Mexican restaraunt directly across the street […] deservidly so gets high ratings on Google. On the plus side, it had the best cable tv selection I've ever seen. "Short drive to downtown St. Augustine"
Visit started poorly on check in as elderly desk clerk made me wait 5 minutes while she was on a personal phone call. Less than 5 minute drive to downtown St. Augustine. A little older than other Country Inns I have stayed in the past. Room and facilities were average, at the lower level of what I would normally stay at. I don't think I will stay at […] this hotel on my next visit. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"A little damp"
Found the room to be damp. The AC worked, but seemed to not pull out the humidity in the foom.Genuine Expedia guest review
"good but"
We enjoyed the stay. All the staff were friendly and polite, hotel was clean but only thing we didn't like was there was no microwave or refrigerator in the room and the papers in the room stated all rooms had them in there false advertisement.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Treatment upon arrival"
The lady who helped with registration when we arrived, Sunday, Dec. 2 around noon, could have done a better job. She mentioned the rooms where not ready but when we asked if we could register and leave our bags somewhere to pick them up later when we did have the rooms, she said there was no such place. She asked us to come around to a small room next […] to registration, which is probably an office, and to put everything on the floor, including garment bags, because there was nowhere to hang them. After a few minutes, she asked us to come out to the lobby again- with our bags- because she now could give us the rooms and we could leave our bags in them. I can´t believe a hotel doesn´t have a place to store bags for a few hours and accommodate clients in this fashion. The rest of the stay was OK. On room 219 the AC doesn´t cool much as could be confirmed when I stepped into my brother´s room, 214. Breakfast was fine. Thank you. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Bad bed experience!"
I was there for one night and didn't check in till late. I was tired and when I got to the room it smell musky. I was tired and didn't pay much attention to it until I got into bed. The sheets felt damp. I had already unpack my things and wasn't about to move, so I sucked it up. Most uncomfortable night every! Like sleeping in a leaking waterbed. All […] other aspects of the hotel were great. If I hadn't unpacked, I would have asked to be moved, so I do not blame staff at all, they seemed great. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Nice hotel and staff was great. The only thing I found is the walls are paper thin. But for my first stay in st augustine the stay was great, and close to the attractions.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Never cleaned up the room"
Arrived on Thursday, July 5, 2012, left on Saturday, July 7, 2012. Never cleaned up our room on Friday. When I complained they said they had no one to do it on Friday. My kids had better excuses for not cleaning their rooms.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"a little disappointing"
We paid to upgrade to a whirlpool room, it didnt work :( coffee pot didnt work :( and the ac struggled to keep up, but the staff was nice and the room was clean. Just a little disappointing.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nice place, but the beds need upgrading."
The staff of the hotel were nice and the place was clean and close to the attractions. However, the bed was not that comfortable. Since, the most important thing about staying somewhere is how well you sleep, this is an important issue.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Don't go by the pictures."
I booked a 1 bedroom suite because the picture on hotels.com showed a whirlpool tub in the room for that option. Once we got there we found no such tub in our room. I went to the desk to ask about it and they told me they only have two suites with the whirlpool tub and they cost extra. I had to ask if I could pay the difference to get one of those and […] the man at the desk seemed annoyed that he might have to check to see if any were available. They were not and though I was obviously upset about the bait and switch all he could offer me was "I don't know who puts those pictures up, sorry". The room was fairly clean and staff was friendly otherwise. On our second night every time the a/c would kick in the smell of cigarette smoke would fill our room. My guess is that someone in a neighboring room was smoking and our AC was pulling it into our room. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Too Many Headaches"
We stayed one night in late Feb. 2012 on our way farther south down the coast. Upon checking in, our room had a foul vomit-like smell, mostly concentrated in the bathrm. They tried to spray and clean, but couldn't remedy the problem. If the hotel wasn't full, we would have gotten another room, but no such luck. The smell very possibly could have been […] coming from the visibly filthy bathroom return air vent. Who knows what germs lurk in there and it's likey it has never been cleaned. When we first tried the hot water, it took over 5 minutes of constant running to get warm, although it eventually got hot. They obviously don't have a separate water heater system for the top floor. We never were able to use the internet. They told us it sometimes works best in the dining room, which was worthless in our 3rd floor room. The noise coming from the ventilation system in the bathroom was so loud it woke us up several times, even with the door closed tightly. The breakfast was plentiful and tasty. The 2 ladies at the front desk were always polite, pleasant and tried to be accomodating. The gave us a great tip about which restaurant had free parking downtown. "Not bad, but not good"
The hotel wasn't bad, but it wasn't great. Not the closest to the historic district, but not far. The first night our room was pretty bad maintenance wise. The toilet, fridge and a/c were all leaking and the bed was hard as a rock. We were already settled in and unpacked and came back from dinner when we noticed all the leaking, so we stayed in the […] room that night. In the morning we woke up and told the hotel about it, they gave us a new room right away. Nothing for the inconvenience, but overall not unhappy with the service or hotel itself. But if you're looking to be right near the historic area, this isn't the one. It's about 1 mile down the road. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Well.... while the room was nice, the bathroom wasn't very clean and the walls were so thin that I could hear the elevator every time it was in use. "comfortable but needs TLC"
a comfortable hotel near beautiful attractions in downtown St. Augustine. The bed and pillows were comfortable and bathroom was clean. Breakfast was good, but needs more condiments. However, there seemed to be several maintenance issues that needed to be addressed. Firstly, our keys had to be rekeyed 3 times in less than 40 hrs of our stay. Secondly, […] The lock to our room was not working correctly and the door opened 3 times during the 2nd night. Thirdly, The lock going to pool/jacuzzi was not working, so I had to crawl over broken floor tiles and AC units to get back to the main building. Finally, The jacuzzi jets were on, but the water was in the 70's which was not desirable. Also, lobby and fitness room are too hot. When mentioning concerns to front desk, they just smiled at me. "Country Inn and Suites"
This hotel is located about 1.75 miles from downtown St. Augustine. A little too far to walk and we ended up taking our car downtown. Parking is a nightmare! However, the hotel itself was adequate. The rooms were clean and the breakfast was surprisingly filling. The attendant was a great guy who kept things filled. Be aware that the dining area is VERY […] small and both days we ended up eating in the lobby. Otherwise, a great inexpensive get away place to stay. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good but could have been better"
Booked online, but when we arrived of course the room wasn't what we requested. After going back to the front desk, our room was made right. We actually received a bigger room,. Although the room was a 2 room suite it was rather old. I don't believe anyone had stayed in our room in awhile due to having to run the water in the tub for several minutes […] to get rid of the rusty water. Glad I had brought bottle water. The fridge was very cold so that was nice. The bed was a king and comfortable but the vent blew the air directly over the bed, not nice at all. All the parking is in the back of the hotel, which if I were traveling alone I wouldn't have liked. It was well lit though.Breakfast was told to be "a hot breakfast", which technically was hot but it was fake circles of egg and meat that was called sausage and cheese slices that were anything but cheese in my opinion. Make your own waffles. Yogurt was in one large open bowl not mini cups that are sealed. If I hadn't needed a room right away I would have stayed somewhere else. Other choices were not even close to this for under $100 though. No bugs though that we saw anyway. All in all good if unable to book ahead, I would stay here again only because it was clean, nice staff and comfortable bed. Desires to be updated though and soon. Just okay for a night stay. I would like to see better breakfast choices, fruit options, real scrambled eggs, bacon etc. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Not really representative of Country Inns and Suit"
We expect a "Country Inn and Suite" to meet certain standards, among them a mini fridge and microwave in the room. This facility was built "before those standards" and is supposedly working to come up to them. The rooms are fair but not at all 'suites.' There is a lot of machinery noise at night (the laundry we finally realized--booming all night long). We […] were there a week-- the only change at breakfast was two different kind of powdered eggs, scrambled or patties. Very bland, and cheese and salsa were always 'out.' Staff was friendly. Hotel was marginal. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"St. Augustine, FL"
One disappointing thing is when I booked the reservation through hotels.com, I was told it was in the heart of historic downtown St. Augustine. It was really over 2 miles away. We had hoped to be able to just walk to our restaurant from the hotel, but ended up taking a cab, as it was so cold that evening. I think the folks that take the reservations […] need to be better informed about the properties. Other than that, the room was clean, staff were fine, and it was nice to have a full hot breakfast provided in the morning. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Aged, and little to far away to walk into old city"
Hotel was a bit aged and a little to far away to walk into the old city of St. Augustine. Front desk staff were VERY nice and helpful. Fixed my screw-up with booking. No coffee in lobby until 6 or 6:30 a.m. Morning breakfast was "OK", but staff starting taking food away 5 minutes early at 9:25 instead of 9:30. This is while the breakfast room was full […] of families trying to get food for their kids. Really odd... Not a horrible hotel, but there are better choices nearer to old city and tours. ...And there are some really bad choices too; do your research!! I most likely would not stay here again. "Liked our hotel, just not St. Augustine"
The hotel is ok, but our room smelled like b.o., very sweaty. Other than that, it was clean and good enough for the one night we were staying. I wouldn't ever go back to St. Augustine for another visit, it's billed at Historical, which was a joke, no beautiful mansions, just a bunch of tourist traps of cheap stuff, like the fountain of youth etc..Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Just OK"
Hotel was ok. Got a quiet night sleep. A little far away from the action of downtown but was close to the train, which we did not use. There is parking on the street so we chose to drive since we were only there for 1 night. We did not have enough towels etc in the bathroom for a family of 4. Overall, an OK experience.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Günstiges Hotel etwas ausserhalb des Zentrums"
Das Hotel liegt etwas ausserhalb des Zentrums, ein Auto ist empfehlenswert. Es ist günstig und bietet alles, was man für 1-2 Tage Aufenthalt benötigt. Der Pool liegt direkt an der Strasse (durch einen Zaun abgetrennt), was etwas laut sein kann. Grundsätzlich ist das Hotel aber empfehlenswert.Genuine Expedia guest review
