The gentlemen at the desk was very kind, gave me a late checkout when I asked. The motel however, needs a lot of work and apparently they know that. I woke up on Sunday to someone scrapping what sounded like Tile on the wall in the unit behind me. It was loud and very frustrating! the tolet did not flush all the way, I did not want to touch the bedspread […] and the bed was old and saggy. "Not for the faint of heart."
This hotel is one of the worst I have experienced. I stay in hotels more than 100 nights per year and this hotel ranks as the lowest. The office person was kind and respectful, but, he needed more support. The maintenance person was not available, so I waited all day for a solution to the problem of the shower knob not turning far enough to get hot water (it was tepid). The sink water was hot, though. When checking in the staff seemed more interested in their own conversation rather then the service of the customer. Same experience when attempting to check out. Paid for queen hotel, but only full was available. The internet did not work on that end of the hotel. The exercise room was under construction. This detail was not availalable during the booking. "Think twice before staying"
They need to have better housekeeping and maintenance. Our room had cobwebs in main area, and mold growing in the bathroom. The toilet backed up, and flooded our room while we were getting ready for a wedding. The staff took a long time to respond to this maintenance emergency. They did switch us rooms, however the second room was even worse than the […] first. There is apparently a long term resident in the room next to ours, and they were fighting with someone all night. Then in the morning, I woke up to go downstairs to the lobby, and there was a dead mouse on the doorstep. NOT an ideal thing to wake up to. The overnight guy laughed in my face, then the manager came to work, and was very apologetic, and gave us a credit. She was very nice, the rest of the staff needs to change. "Terribly disappointing....There is NO FITNESS ROOM"
We were put in a smoking room regardless of the fact that specified non-smoking, however the nice lady at the front desk gave us a different room immediately upon request. The toilet plugged up in our first room immediately and when my daughter requested maintenance she was handed a plunger. The pool and spa were filthy. The amenitites listed on expedia […] AND on the sign outside the motel state that there is a fitness room. When I asked the front desk, the person stated that there wasn't one, but used to be one (the sign outside is fairly new). We were terribly disappointed in the condition of the motel, the lack of services, and the price was too high for what was there. Also, breakfast was very minimal, there was a sign at the front desk saying that it was served from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. but you better be there before 8:45 or they locked the door. Very unwelcoming, very expensive for the condition and the false advertising. You can stay in Gresham at a nicer motel with more services for about $20 less a night. If you plan to spend most of your time in Portland, staying somewhere else is the way to go. Also, if your bags are very heavy, prepare to have to lug them a long way because there is nowhere to park close to the room entrances, especially the second floor ones. Where do you start....oh ya..with the entry way smelling like urine..there was a homeless gentleman in the front office area utilizing the free wifi. The people in front of us had to break the dead bolt of their door to get in. The next man stepped in front of my wife and I because he had been checked out of his room a day early with his belongings […] still inside the room. The pictures of the hotel are not accurate as to its current condition. My room smelled of cheap perfume. The hot tub was broken. The hotel shows signs of some efforts to keep it clean but it really is just patchwork and the overall condition is getting pretty run down. Made 3 day reservation. Checked in, given keys, went to room and room was not cleaned - lights on, TV on, bed not made... Went back to the check-in area and the employee said "don't go to your room for another 30 minutes...". Why weren't we told that to begin with? The next two days, when we'd leave the motel and come back, our keys would not let us […] in and we'd have to head to the check-in desk. The room was average. There were only 6 tv channels and 2 of those were in spanish. The pool and hot tub were fine but the decking surrounding it was broken concrete. Both nights we were there the pool was party central with guests screaming until 1 am. When the staff was alerted at 12 guests were trying to sleep they didnt do anything. Supposedly we were to get a non smoking room.We were given a key to a room which had the doors and windows open to eradicate the tobacco smell. When complaining we were told it was a non smoker (strange as it had two ashtrays on the A/C unit attached to the window).
