"Shilo used to be nice"
The front desk clerk was rude and abrupt. We had reserved a king room but the clerk said they were not ready so she was going to put us in a queen room. I told her we would come back when the king was ready. In the middle of check in she answered the phone and it was obvious that she knew the person on the other end. This is probably one of the most outdated hotels I have stayed at in quite some time. I heard that some rooms are nice and they must have been in other buildings. I stayed in the King Room building and everything was extremely dated, I felt like I stepped into 1980. "Good bang for the buck"
yes, it's dated but if you don't need to spend a lot of time in your room, you can't beat the price. There is a "newer" building on the property that was updated about ten years ago according to the front desk staff. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. Housekeeping could use a pep talk. Large ball of what appeared to be cat hair mixed with other vacuum bag remains greeted me from the middle of the carpet next to the bed. "Disappointing customer service"
2 things really soured me on this place. First, I set a wake up call by following the prompts on the phone. Luckily for me, I woke up on my own, because I never got a wake up call. When I said something to the front desk clerk, he said "Oh, didn't someone tell you when you checked in yesterday? We're having a problem with our system and it doesn't work. […] So you have to call the front desk directly and ask for a wake up." How many people weren't told this and were late for whatever their appointments were that day? The second thing was the breakfast. We got coupons that said we were entitled to one free breakfast each. That's all it said on the coupon. I ordered orange juice and my companion ordered milk. We were told we would have to pay extra for the drinks and we said okay. When the bill came, it was over $20. When we asked how that could be, the waitress pointed to a smal box in the center of the menu that indicated several breakfast items that were free with the coupon. All other meals weren't. When we commented that wasn't very visible, and why didn't the coupons say something or even why didn't she tell us when we placed the order, she just shrugged and said she would take the charges off our ticket today.
