"Nice place"
Overall, everything was good. Service good, friendly staff. The only complaint we had was the lighting in the restaurant/lounge....it was way too bright. We met my husband's half sisters that he had never met over the weekend at this hotel. The court yard outside had a nice sitting area and the inside lobby also had excellent visiting areas. We were able to enjoy the areas while we visited. The room was comfortable and clean. We would look forward to staying at this hotel again. "Opt out of the breakfast pkg."
The best thing about this hotel is the "Einstein Bros Bagels" place across the rear parking lot. Do yourself a favor and opt-out of Courtyard's breakfast included package and walk over to Einstein's. Marriott decided to change what I considered an average continental breakfast and replaced with this complicated contraption that needs a printed set of […] instructions (see attached pic) handed to you at check-in so you know what you can eat in the morning. I wouldn't have minded too much if the breakfast was half way decent, but it wasn't. It was made up of stale bagels and dry muffins, if you opt for eggs you would get a semi decent set of scrambled eggs (you can't have both the bagel and the eggs). When I complained to the hotel staff, I was told this is the new Courtyard Experience. They decided to upgrade the lobby and the breakfast area that you spend less than 5% of your time in and left the rooms in a state of disrepair. Very disappointed. The hotel is in a very nice, secluded area. The room was also nice with a balcony and the bed was comfortable. There was some confusion over whether they charged for breakfast, as on the keycard holder it said it was $5.95, and the expedia website said it was $10 or close to it. No one was asking for money so when I checked out I asked if it cost money […] (after eating 2 breakfasts there) and they said "This weekend was no charge". "Demanding Guest More Than Happy"
We found this hotel to be at the top of its class in all categories. When booking this room, we requested specific items, which were all given to us. The staff were all professional and friendly. The three nights sleep were some of the best we have had in 38 years of hotel visits. The room was spotless. There was NO noise. Parking and access were ideal. […] The bed was very comfortable. "Fridge not cold enough"
My only complaint is that the room came with a small fridge that i don't think was cold enough to store milk. I requested a fridge because I needed to store milk and other perishable food for my baby, but the fridge that came in the room seemed lacking. I ended up having to throw out the milk and yogurt that I bought. Other than that, the hotel, room, […] and service was good. "Did Not Get What I Reserved"
Unfortunately, I was very disappointed in the service and room. I say, "unfortunately" because I expected to provide my son a relaxing, good nights sleep before a huge lacrosse tournament that he played the next day. Rather than drive down Saturday morning from WA, I decided to drive down to Oregon the night before the tournament and let him sleep well […] before heading to the games in the morning. I talked 4 other families into joing us at this same hotel. I booked a room with 2 Queen beds and specifically asked several times to make sure I would be receiving a room with the 2 Queen Beds. I was assurred over and over that this was the reservation and this was what I would receive. Upon arriving at the hotel, I was told, "Oh, I see you reserved a room with 2 Queen Beds, but we don't have any left, so you will be getting a room with one King Bed." I explained that I specifically made sure I was reserved a room with 2 Queens. The receptionist told me very rude and curtely, "I know. I see that, but we don't have any left. Your room has one King bed. Don't worry there is a pull-out couch." After being told that was just the way it works, we went to our room. It was room 133 in the corner by the pool and RIGHT NEXT TO AN EXIT DOOR. Besides the horribliy uncomfortable couch and the smell of clhlorine the BANGING of the exit door ALL NIGHT LONG was untolerable. Neither myslef or my son slept all night and we both wish we had not come down to OR, but intsead just gotten up at 4:00am and driven down in the morning.
