"Bare Bones Hotel...Stay at Your Own Risk"
Pros: Friendly staff, comfortable bed, well maintained, refrigerator in unit. Cons: VERY thin walls, loud doors, dirty or stained linens and towels, no bathtub, breakfast was cereal, toast, or danishes (no protein or fruit). "curry?"
I think this place is just far enough off the beaten path to be a hide out for terrorists. The smell of the food from the owners cooking was overwhelming to say the least. the smell of curry was hard to take, almost nauseating. "rates this cheap, I should've known what to expect"
I needed a place to stay for a night while I rested and prepared for the LSAT the next morning. I picked it for low rates and the complimentary breakfast and it was a failure. I was disgusted when I climbed into the bed and proceeded to pull several strands of long hair out of the sheets. The police had to be called for a domestic disturbance on the […] same floor as mine (thats after calling the front desk and receiving no response, they didn't even check the floor). The TV had very few channels. I had assumed that ESPN was a given for any hotel and was disappointed to realize they didn't have it. The complimentary breakfast was sad. "never again"
Our first room did not appear to have been vacuumed. One bed had a popcorn hull under the pillow. We were given a 2nd room due to these complaints.We looked at it prior to moving rooms. Sheets and carpet were our main concern. We pulled down bedding for cleanliness and it was good. When we returned that night for bed, there were a couple of long hairs […] in bed, most likely from cleaning person as the bed was "remade". 2nd room did NOT have an alarm clock or microwave (1st room did). Both rooms had burn holes in bedding and it was a non smoking room. Staff did not seem at all surprised by our complaints for cleanliness. We stayed there approx 5 years ago and it was acceptable. Was a smoking room, but smelled worse than expected. Ripped screen on window so we couldn't open the window. The price was really good.....less than I actually booked the 3 rooms. I took a group of 12 kids and chaperones on a trip. One of the first 3 rooms was not yet cleaned, so that room moved to a clean room on down the hall. The toilet plugged up and the desk clerk handed me a plunger and wished me luck. Rooms were clean but had no microwave, refrigerator, iron, coffee pot, blow dryer or radio. 2 beds, 2 chairs and a TV. Terrible breakfast offerings. Two boxes of Costco cereal, milk, juice, packaged pastries and a loaf of white bread. Not a good place to take a baseball team...harassed the boys all night. "Thinnest walls ever!!!"
We got the worst sleep of any hotel we've ever stayed in! I could hear the television so clearly in the room next to us that I knew what they were watching! On top of that, they must have been higher than a kite because they got into a very loud and obnoxious fight and they kept it up all night long!!! They didn't shut up until we were just getting […] ready to leave the next morning at 6:00 am!!! We thought about calling the front desk to complain, but I read a review about this hotel that stated they had the same neighbor problem we did and when they called downstairs, the employees did nothing to remedy the problem. So I felt that the only thing we could do was take a tylenol PM and try to get at least a couple hours of sleep. The only good thing about this hotel was that it was in close proximity to where we needed to be the next day and we got a very good rate on the room. "I expected at least what I paid for."
the two things I look for in a review when I travel is if they have an infant bed for my son and a complimentary breakfast. I was not impressed when the bed arrived dirty, there were stains all over the mattress and it did not even come with any bedding, sheet, nothing.
