"generally an OK stay--with one problem"
This hotel is nice and clean, and for the most part, the hotel staff were friendly and highly efficient. The only problem that we encountered during our stay was that our room was HOT. The air conditioning unit was NOT blowing cool air, leaving our room approximately 75 degrees during the evening hours and warming up during the nighttime. We have always liked the Hilton properties, and the Hampton Inn at Hoffman Estates was typical of Hilton quality. The room was very clean and quiet and the service was good. The hotel was good. The room was clean. The staff was helpful. I was disappointment because we had friends who also stayed in the hotel and we all went to the pool and the whirlpool wasn't working. My wife and I made a weekend trip to Chicago after Thanksgiving. The Hampton Inn appeared ot be a fairly new hotel. The room was very nice and clean. We did end up having three issues with our stay. I was very surprised to find for a newer hotel, that the rooms did not have a wall mounted controller for the heater, thus the heat would run all night […] unless you turned it off. Secondly, we could hear the people above us walkign aroundt at 7am. Very creaky floors. The third issue was at 8:30am, the fire alarm went off and we had to stand out in the cold waiting for the fire department. We then learned that the samething happened the day before.
