We stayed at the uptown Sheraton a few weeks back. We stayed at the Sheraton by the airport this last time, both times on club level. "Not what I would have expected from Sheraton"
I was there for a much anticipated one night stay. I saved for a year to stay in this hotel, and the pool was closed. They did offer to drive me and my disappointed son to another hotel to swim....really? There were two TVs in my room and the one that worked didn't work well. "Comfortable and clean sleepover"
The hotel was in fantastic shape. We had stayed there more than 20 years ago. It was spotless and still kept the character of "The Classic" ,as it was called back then. Our experience was that everything was slightly off, and service was just good enough when you asked for it. "Sheraton ABQ Uptown - downhill from last stay..."
I was disappointed this time. The room had lots of little problems that added up to being a big pain to deal with. The drawers of the dresser wouldn't stay closed...kept ramming the kids as they walked by, maintenance left a NAIL behind when they tried (unsuccessfully) to fix it, which my son stepped on, TV remote didn't work, room reeked of air freshener, […] there was broken glass on the floor in the corner.... overall... not good! The exercise room was in excellent shape with multiple elipticals and treadmills and full set of weights. This was the best thing about the hotel. This hotel is very nice to stay in, the rooms are nice and clean, the beds are real comfy and the air conditioning/heater unit isn't all that loud compared to other hotel rooms. However there are some negatives, the bathroom door opens outward instead of inward which may not seem that bad but it opens up towards and is about a foot away the main door, […] this seems like an architectural mistake. Another negative was the pressure of the water on the fifth floor (which is the floor we stayed on) because taking a shower in the morning which obviously is the busiest time for taking shower/baths but it was strange for a hotel as affordable yet upscale as this one to have water pressure problems. And the last negative were the thin walls, now I would normally blame this on loud guests next door however I read other reviews saying similar things and I would have to concur with them on this subject. I was woken up by our next door guests who were talking loudly before 7am and this was on a Sunday morning so I wasn't happy about this at all. E' decisamente un motel! Si trova su una strada di grande scorrimento in un quartiere commerciale, dove fortunatamente, anche se non proprio vicino, c'è qualche grosso mall. Praticamente questo hotel non offre nessun servizio extra: non c'è personale per i bagagli, non c'è ristorante, non prenotano escursioni. Anche chiamare un taxi è un problema, per […] cui consiglio sempre di noleggiare un auto appena scesi all'aereoporto di Albunquerque! La camera come al solito, poco confortevole: nessun frigo bar, nessun bagno schiuma, la cassaforte inservibile e mai riparata nonostante le nostre ripetute insistenze.
