Pearl's is a cute place. It fits in nicely in Key West. The people are very nice and friendly. The place has tried to make the jump to mainstream travelers from a lesbian client base. It hasn't quite gotten their yet. It's close, but I still feel this place is more suited to female travelers. With that said, my girlfriend and I had absolutely no issues […] as a straight couple there. We were very welcomed by the staff. On the room, I felt the room was a little too smallMy girlfriend was OK with the room size (She likes cute, little places), but I like a little more elbow room. The Inn itself was quaint and charming with great outdoor spaces, the service was good, the staff, accomodating, the breakfast nicely presented, but....ask to see the room, we were in an annex with a small guest kitchen and four guest rooms. The rooms were very small and the window air conditioner loud and overtaxed. I asked if the rooms were all this […] small and was told there were larger rooms. "Ok bed and breakfast"
First and foremost, I would like to say my wife and I are low maintance. With that being said Pearls was nice, the staff was very friendly and helpful. We knew what we were getting at Pearls from the other reviews and we did not feel out of place. Parking is a bit of a hassle and on a crowded weekend or week could be an unexpected expense. We did manage […] to find free parking during our week. The room was small but nice, once again we are not fussy people. It rained for most of our vacation and with that, our room ceiling did leak on us in the middle of the night. The staff replaced the matress and hopefully fixed the problem. "Unique and fairly quiet."

Ok here is the skinny. Was an all womans guesthouse, now its open to all. SOOO much better. The pools are great, the hot tubs are nice, the Tiki bar is fantastic with daily specials and a quiet tropical atmosphere and the restaurant is WONDERFUL! Outside maintenance is great. The pools are clean. This is not an easy task with all the tropical foliage. The […] bad - Housekeeping is terrible, our room was small and outdated. The window air conditioner was loud. Sheets did not feel clean upon arrival. Upon furthur investigation,a pair of panties were found between the mattress and boxspring. Room had a terrible odor,similar to that of mildew which was being masked by a baby powder smelling deodorizer. "OK hotel at good location"
The hotel has a lot of character and is well situated, just half a block off Duval. The building was originally a cigar factory and was successfully transformed into a hotel. There are several heated pools as well as hot tubs. We had the cheapo room, which was very small and a bit challenging if you're tall (slanted ceiling). The A/C cannot be controlled […] so it would likely be very hot in the room in the summer but was OK now (end of November). Overall, the stay was OK, however, there were a few issues: - the mattress needs to be replaced as it hangs through in the middle - if you are unlucky and have inconsiderate hotel guests, it is noisy - i.e. you can hear everything outside your rooms (we had to witness a breakup drama between two Italian men at 5AM...) - even though the room was prepaid, they still make you sign for $100 on your credit card and when you check out, they say that it has been "released". They don't give you any kind of receipt for that and you are told that you just have to trust them that you will not be charged. An odd thing to do - other hotel just run through your credit card but don't ask you to sign. Apart from these issues, they are very nice, offer you a welcome Sangria and serve you a good breakfast. Hotel is aged and authentic ( still use the old phones in room). Hottub and secondary pool closed during stay. Friendly staff (breakfast crew) and good food. Location was decent for the price, but was a good 15 min walk to the action on Duval. Even though they say they have parking for guests , they only have 2 spots and your forced to park on the street.
