"MISLED BY ADVERTISING"
The room was not entirely painted - the ceiling had been repainted perhaps 2/3 of the way. The door to the bath had been painted in part with a shade different than the current one as well as the door facing. The bed frame was not fully assembled - the headboard was not bolted to the bed and slammed against the wall each time I sat or laid on the bed. […] The bathroom appeared in better condition with new pedstal sink, toilet, tile; however, the plug would not support more than one appliance at a time. The shower curtin had been splashed with bleach and was a peculiar multi-color of peach and white. I only had truly hot water one day of four. There was some kind of black under the toilet lid. I suspect mold since the appliance was too new for corrosion. The pictures were far from "local art" as advertised as they were mass market posters and they weren't even clean. Some had mildew under the glass. There were holes in the sheetrock in both the bedroom and bathroom. The bed was lumpy and the pillows were chopped up foam rubber. The pool was not swimmable the entire four 1/2 days. In short, the room was awful. It appeared as if the room was im the midst of an entire makeover (much needed) and in a hurry they assembled it for a last minute guest. If this were the case, I am particulary angry since I made my reservation in February for a May visit. Key West has a plentitude of wonderful lodging - KEEP LOOKING! "DO NOT STAY IN THIS PLACE!"
Condition of hotel very poor, in need of repair, chairs by the pool missing straps and sagging, location too far from center of old town and no parking spaces. The whole experience went very smoothly. Hotel is nice and clean. Comfortable but not 5 star luxurious. Although we found the bed amazingly comfortable. Location is central. There is no private parking lot but the staff make sure you get a spot on the street. The continental breakfast is plentiful. Nice grounds and guests. Roman oversaw our stay and […] was really helpful. It is the tropics and an island with limited resources. As a result, there is a slight sewer smell in the bathroom that we solved by keeping that door closed. I am sensitive to noise and the ac unit was a bit loud so we turned it off the second night.
