I have stayed at another Aloft, and loved it, so I didn't have think anything about booking here, especially at the price I got it at. I was traveling with my 3 kids while my husband was out of town and never once felt that I was in a bad area and I never felt unsafe. The only downfall to this trip was the shower. There is a window in the shower that […] you can't see through if the light is off. However, when the light is on, you can see into the shower. Had I been traveling with just my spouse, I wouldn't have thought anything about it. But, I was traveling with my kids, and it made me more than a little uncomfortable. "Pretty hotel but a little frayed on the edges..."
This was my first visit to Texas, and the Aloft appeared to be a modern and hip place at first. My boyfriend and I were without hot water the first two days as was our floor. The salt water pool was often closed, which was frustrating as it is pretty dang hot out there! The morning breakfast is made to order for a great price and with healthy options, […] however the coffee they offer is often put away before 10am. I enjoyed speaking with the staff and they were very helpful when needed. If the hotel was under different management I could see it improving greatly so I wouldn't find things like half-empty gallons of hotel shampoo knocked over in the elevator. Do swing by their gym- it's usually empty with great machines and weights and they offer free headphones which saved me money on the flight home. Check your sheets too- one of our comforters had a bloody booger on it and under the fitted sheet is the most finicky pee blanket that bunches up when you shift at night.
