"beautiful getaway"
I found my deal on hotels.com by sheer luck. Thank GOD! Beautiful rooms nicer than most peoples apartments the bathrooms are to die for. I would definitely stay here again although it seems to be hard to get a deal on it. Only two complaints were parking and my mattress was hard as a rock lol. Everything else was fantastic.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great escape"
It's a beautiful place and a wonderful walking / bike trail. Also very easy access to the beach. We were there on the off season so it was reasonably priced.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Great place to take you significant other!! Had a blasty blast!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"convenient for combining beach visit &Charleston"
Room prices were high, but proximity to beach was excellent. Food options were expensive, but we reduced expenses by buying groceries and eating only lunches out. (It would have been even better to have a microwave in the room, but at least we had a refrigerator.) Valet parking service was outstanding. Employees were exceptionally friendly. Minor difficulties […] included difficulty in obtaining pool towels, failure to provide washcloths daily, no parking pass initially provided in packet, little support for arranging off-site activities (restaurants, historic sites, brochures, etc.), morning coffee in bar, but only found it by accident, water available at pool, but no cups, etc. - nothing serious, but not the kind of issues usually experienced at expensive resort hotels. "Wild Dunes Hotel and Resort, Isle of Palms SC"
Stayed at the Boardwalk Hotel which is integral to the larger resort. Lovely room, courteous and efficient staff, right on the ocean. Rates were very good for off- season. My only concern involved the condition of the carpets...they should have been replaced long ago.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Bed was wrong"
1st: This is a very large property & you drive to everything, swimming pool, tennis court, etc. 2nd: We had reserved 2 king beds for the oceanfront sweet & we got 1. 3rd: Both beds were very old & you sank to the middle. Not a good place if you want any sleep at all.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Wild dunes far away"
We had a 3 bedroom villa for 2 people. I don't know why. The section we were in was outdated. The Wild Dunes is a gigantic place. It took us 10 minutes just to leave the property. Then it was another 15 to Charleston. We loved Charleston but every day it was a pretty long trek.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Room not as pictured. Difficult to find we were not in the main building. Our view was of the street. No cell phone service in the building. Food was just okay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great resort -- Booking confusing"
The Wild Dunes resort is in a great location, along the ocean, in a fairly large gated community. According to the shuttle driver, 80% of the homes in that community are private homes and often empty, which makes the place not so busy even when the occupation rate is high. I found the booking confusing. Options are "Boardwalk Inn", "Village", and "Villa". […] The former two are hotels (next to each other), the later describes rentals (condos, throughout the resort). We booked a "1 bedroom villa, resort view", and ended up in a 1 bedroom apartment, with full kitchen, living room, large bedroom, bathroom with walk-in shower, and screen-in balcony facing the pool and the ocean. The place was great, very calm, ideal for relaxation. However, this is a rental so not daily cleaning or bed making (only bi-weekly for stays of a week or longer). Our condo was 1 mile away from the Boardwalk inn / Village, which is the "center" of the resort, where the 2 restaurants and shops are. Walking on the beach, it took us ~25 minutes to reach the Center from our place. Otherwise, they have a very efficient complimentary shuttle (we just had to dial 0 from a resort phone and a mini-van would take us wherever we wanted in the resort, from 7am to 11pm --we never waited more than 7 minutes). For those who come by car, each condo comes with their own parking spot, and hotels have a valet service. Overall, we had a great time and enjoyed our stay very much. However, we realized we did not know what accommodation we were getting until we got there. I don't think this is Hotels.com's fault (our friends booked through the official website for the same stay and ended up in the Village in a regular room with windows that can't open when they would have preferred a place like ours). “Villas” can be a short walk from the resort center, up to 1+ mile away (and vice-versa for golf courses...) I wish it would be easier to know in advance what we get and where. Fortunately, the shuttle system makes the loca Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
