"Nice Place"
Very nice. Impressive size for the price. We are from San Diego, but will stay here again the next time we find ourselves in the beautiful Carolina's.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Excellent stay for our family"
Wild Dunes offers comfort and affordability compared with other hotels in the area that are just not as nice. We enjoyed our stay and will be back!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Worth it if you;re staying a while"
To be fair, we stayed overnight but kept saying it would be so nice to come back and stay a while. We stayed overnight and there was an awful rainstorm, only managed to enjoy the beach for a little while, but there is a cute boardwalk condo setting that leads to the beach that was cute and great for families. I gave it a 3/5 only because I didn't experience […] enough to give it a higher or lower scoring but from what I had experienced it was a 3. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Resort was great and staff was very friendly. However we got locked out of our unit 3 times because our key cards (all 6 of them) stopped working multiple times. Not acceptable with 4 kids along.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Family Stay"
I was visiting Charleston with my girlfriend and later other family joined. Wild Dunes is a very nice resort and there are lots of nice amenities. We stayed in one of the many homes and it was very clean and comfortable except for the beds. They were hard for my taste. The gym was great and they had several pools and a few restaurants, which helps because […] they are a good twenty minutes from downtown Charleston. Sometimes the staff seemed uninformed about questions a guest might have. However I would go back and probably stay in a different property to compare price and value. "Pleasant Surprise"
We were expecting a hotel room and actually had a full condo on the beach! It was beautiful. I only wish we could have stayed longer! The 4 for the "convenience" was because we had a bit of a hard time finding where to check it. Call. It was easy once we talked to someone.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great place to relax and catch up with family"
Very relaxing stay. Attended a wedding which the events team and F&B handled very well. Service was overall good, although the housekeeping staff had a hard time understanding our needs despite multiple attempts to explain ourselves. Location of resort makes it really difficult for cell coverage - I had no service most of the time - but this makes it […] a great place to go if you really want to get away. The walls were thin in The Village and we could hear sounds easily in the hall from our living room area. Did not prevent some good rest and relaxation though. Above and beyond what we had expected. Ocean view was spectacular from our condo! Loved the whole Charleston experience. Clean, beautiful city. Overall 4+ starsGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Awesome Resort - Carpet Needs Cleaning"
The carpet in the bedrooms and the upholstery of the living room furniture need to be cleaned....desperately (Room 302G - A 2 bedroom condo in Village Gardens. Otherwise, awesome! We stayed here 2 years ago and had no complaints at all. They have added another pool outside the Village Gardens which has a zero entry...can't wait to try that out when […] it's warmer! We had a wonderful time at the resort. The grounds are beautiful, the staff were very accommodating, and the room was lovely. While the weather was not as cooperative as we would have liked, we enjoyed the stay immensely and plan on returning.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"great...however"
The location and facility are very nice. Th biggest problem we had was that my wife and I arrived on a Friday for a nice, romantic 3-day weekend. The reservation we made said we would receive a King bed, however, we not only got a room with two doubles, but it was in the corner on the first floor with essentially no view. All of this is fine if the […] hotel was completely booked, however, the parking lot was not full, and we never encountered lines--we did not believe that the hotel was so crowded that we should not have received a much nicer room. At least one that fulfilled the promise of the original booking. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"A weekend worth the travel."
Fabulous! My daughter and I were looking for an inviting place to relax and found it. The resort, the staff and a great beach combined to meet and exceed my expectations. I will be returning to Wild Dunes as soon as possible.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Amazing deal....Great Place to Be. I'd stay again"
We LOVED the DUNES! I read the reviews and was a little concerned about comments regarding cleanliness or poor service, etc. Our experience at the Dunes was so fantastic, I can't even begin to understand what those reviewers might have been expecting. The price was great AND the facility and location is beautiful. Also, it is VERY close to the beach. […] It is a short (1/2 block) on a boardwalk...to an amazing beach. Our room was condo style building, very new, and upscale. Not an old house like Rodanthe, if that's what you're looking for. Although we received no mention of sales, it almost seemed like it was a timeshare building they were trying to sell. Anyway, great price, great experience. May wife and I loved it. "Great home for a family"
The home we rented was in the villages at Isle of Palms Resort. It was very comfortable and super for a family as it had lots of sitting areas and a really nice view of a pond. It was well stocked with cooking utensils and pots and pans and there was an abundance of sleeping areas. Would highly recommend!Genuine Expedia guest review
"I wouldn't recommend it."
The room we received was worse than a Motel 6. There was mold on the molding and baths, dirty carpets, bad touch up painting, etc. We complained to the management and they bent over backwards to satisfy us. We moved to a penthouse and that was OK but it took a whole day and we missed so much sightseeing. PS even the carpets in the penthouse were dirty […] but the rest of the place was beautiful. "Very nice experience for my husband and I."
This was a very nice experience never having stayed in a condo unit before, always a hotel room. We found it was much like having a suite with two TV's, large bedroom, very large living room and a sizeable lanai. We had a couple of maintenance issues and they sent someone over to fix them within 10 minutes, very friendly and experienced. All the amenities […] like shampoo, soap, coffee were there, plus what I NEVER get enough of - coat hangers! Large bureau, sitting area in bedroom, couldn't have asked for more. We also had mid-week maid service because we stayed 7 nights. Totally equipped kitchen which we didn't use, but if someone wanted to it was well stocked with cooking and eating utensils. "Great Resort"
Overall very pleased with the resort, great accommodations and grounds. Beaches were vast, uncrowded and private. The location is about 30 minutes from downtown Charleston, however worth the commute. Golf course and tennis courts were well kept. Definitely something for everyone, from biking on the beach to swimming poolside. Would stay again!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Hard to Find a More Beautiful Location"
My room was wonderful, however, some of the common areas such as entries, lobbies and hallways could use a little more attention. I was very dissatisfied with the parking experience, however this is probably due to pool construction going on at this time. The staff was very warm, welcoming and accommodatingGenuine Expedia guest review
"Condo's not so great. The Villages were awesome!"
The only reason this resort didn't get all "5's" was our first "condo" - Read on: Our “condo” was ~.75 miles north of the main check in: The building was called “Port O Call” – our room number was A 102. My wife used the restroom and promptly found hair under the hinge of the toilet and human hairballs behind the bathroom door. I investigated further […] and found more hair in the shower. Curry, the night manager showed up w/i the half-hour. He gave us a room upgrade. He carried our baggage back to his car, and lead us back the main buildings where we checked in. He lead us up to our room, 411B, in “The Village”. These are the newer high-rises you’ll check-in at. Compared to our “condo”, this was very nice. The second day we came back and our fridge had a bottle of Champagne and card. It was a hand-written letter from the “Village Concierge” once again apologizing for the inconvenience and congratulating us on our nuptials. The resort also comp’d us in two other ways: 1. A $100 credit for any use at the resort, which my wife used at the spa. 2. Food comp’s at the Sea Island Grill (no alcohol), which was also excellent. *** I cannot speak to as how our honeymoon would’ve been if we had not voiced our concerns over “Port O Call – Condominium A102”, but the room upgrade to “The Village” and treatment we received after the room upgrade was nothing less than outstanding and fabulous.*** Pro’s: Imagine a great resort staff, great honeymoon, great resort dining and wait staff. "End of summer respite"

"Excellent stay in Oceanfront Condo"

"What an expensive disappointment"
Run-down, musty-smelling, highly overpriced crowded place with lots of noise in the hallways at night. The beach sand is a dirty gray, the condos lining the beach make you feel like you are in someone's front yard, the pools are small and very crowded, and there is absolutely nothing to do unless you want to shell out a bunch more money. Most resorts […] we have stayed at allow guests to check out bikes or boogie boards for free, and maybe have yard games or an archery range or something, but there is nothing like that here. We would stay in a Motel 6 before going back to this dump. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

the ease of check in and the beach front upgrade. Very nice. Only bad thing is I was told when I booked the room, I would be able to ride my Motorcycle, which I hauled down, thank goodness, for when I arrived they told me it was gated and i could not ride it on property. This was the main reason for the trip, to ride my HD and tour the island(s). Only […] one day ride so sad. However, with that said, I will stay agian. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

We stayed in an oceanfront condo seascape 215. We loved it, very clean, nice set up, great view quiet and such a nice beach area. Pool was very nice also. We didn't have a lot of time to do much at the rest of the resort but maybe next time we will. "Nice but not worth the money"
We have stayed in many different hotels but this was our first resort. Maybe our expectations were alittle too high. Our receptionist was friendly but it seemed to take a good deal of time to figure out a room for us. When we got to the room( right by the ice machine, view of a side street) we immediately heard a crying infant through the wall. We asked […] if there was a possibility of a room change and this was received without hesitation by a really accomodating new receptionist. We were changed to a room higher up and even with a balcony. For those expecting a walk right out of their room to the beach, this is not the place. You will need to do some walking down a boardwalk to get to the beach. The food was too expensive for the quality. The wait staff seemed continously confused and we had to search down the waiter for the check which took another 15 minutes to settle even though we were the only ones there (a wedding was going to take place so this may have been the reasoning for the lack of service). Given this, the beach is so clean and beautiful. We went off season so the price was significantly less but still in my opinion not worth the extra money to say "we stayed in a resort". Save on the hotel and get yourself out to a great restaurant- Charleston have many to choose from. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Very Relaxing!"

"Very comfortable resort"
Stayed here to attend a wedding. Stayed both at the Boardwalk Inn as well as in one of the Boardwalk homes with friends. The staff is very accommodating and friendly. The resort is big but not fancy, which I liked. It is about half an hour outside of Charleston, so it takes some planning to go into the city. There are also some charming lunch places […] down the road at Sullivan island. I would stay here again if the opportunity arose. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
They do not allow for an hour late check out. I'm talking mid-week, low season, like 10 total capacity at the 'Boardwalk' resort. I mean really, for the price? If you are an early riser, sure the room was nice.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"A real jewel!"
Our stay was short (just for the weekend) but wonderful. Our condo was spacious, comfortable, beautiful and spotless. The grounds surrounding the resort are nicely landscaped and very well kept. Although our plans included visits to other cities in the area, we plan to return and just enjoy Wild Dunes.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Wonder-full"
We stayed for 3 nights at the Wild Dunes on Isle of Palms. The worst complaint we had was the toaster didn't work. Everything else was great. We would get up early in the darkness and take flashlights down to the beach and see what the ocean carried up on the shore, hoping to find a unique shell or treasure. The room was exceptional, clean and comfortable. […] The french quarter of Charleston is an easy drive and provided a wealth of interesting places to see. Ours was a condo, so we did not have cleaning service on a daily basis. If that's important to you, I think it can be requested. It had a full kitchen and washer and dryer. We were short on time, so we didn't get to take advantage of all the things you can do, such as golf, bike rentals etc. We're a middle class family and I thought the rates were reasonable for everything offered, I would definately go there again.
