You won’t even have to leave the resort. Wild Dunes boats six restaurants, a Dinner Delivered program for vacation rental and Village guests, and in-room dining for Boardwalk Inn and Village guests. Restaurant options include upscale coastal cuisine, a family restaurant serving casual and contemporary fare, a resort market, a casual deli, and a seasonal beachfront café.

The Sand Bar: Located in the Links Course Clubhouse, is a great spot for golfers or beach-goers to grab a casual meal during the day. Enjoy the lush fairway views while taking in breakfast, lunch, or an early dinner. Hours vary by season.
-Dunes Deli: Grab and go. That’s Dunes Deli, next to the Harbor Pro Shop. Offering gourmet coffee, breakfast and deli-style sandwiches. Hours vary by season.
-Grand Pavilion Café & Bar: The Isle of Palms' only boardwalk cafe. Open seasonally with a panoramic ocean view, the Grand Pavilion Café & Bar serves classic beach fare. Sandwiches, snacks, drinks and cocktails. Ice cream shop open in season. The Grand Pavilion Café and Bar is open seasonally.

Wild Dunes Resort is a paradise for visitors seeking sunny skies, the charm of Charleston, and a myriad of recreational activities. In addition to the beach, you’ll have access to tennis, golf and Island Adventures, Wild Dunes Resort’s family recreation program. For those wishing to explore within the property, the Resort offers bicycle rentals and miles of scenic walking and jogging trails. The entire resort is connected with bike paths, walking paths, and on resort transportation, making it easy to enjoy resort amenities without ever getting behind the wheel of a car. We were very pleased with every aspect of our meal except for one: our dinner! I mean everyone treated us like royalty and like VIP's while we were there. The problems with our dining experience were as follows: Not enough places to choose from, called and got a reservation for first available and told it would be 45 minutes, waited at least 30 minutes […] after that and heard others complaining about the same, heard another couple order 3 things that they came back and told they were out, limited selection and I thought it was very over priced, and much of our food tasted bad with a strange smell/after taste. The location and facility are very nice. Th biggest problem we had was that my wife and I arrived on a Friday for a nice, romantic 3-day weekend. The reservation we made said we would receive a King bed, however, we not only got a room with two doubles, but it was in the corner on the first floor with essentially no view. The home we rented was in the villages at Isle of Palms Resort. It was very comfortable and super for a family as it had lots of sitting areas and a really nice view of a pond. "Very nice experience for my husband and I."
This was a very nice experience never having stayed in a condo unit before, always a hotel room. We found it was much like having a suite with two TV's, large bedroom, very large living room and a sizeable lanai. We had a couple of maintenance issues and they sent someone over to fix them within 10 minutes, very friendly and experienced. All the amenities […] like shampoo, soap, coffee were there, plus what I NEVER get enough of - coat hangers! Large bureau, sitting area in bedroom, couldn't have asked for more. "Condo's not so great. The Villages were awesome!"
The only reason this resort didn't get all "5's" was our first "condo" - Read on: Our “condo” was ~.75 miles north of the main check in: The building was called “Port O Call” – our room number was A 102. My wife used the restroom and promptly found hair under the hinge of the toilet and human hairballs behind the bathroom door. I investigated further […] and found more hair in the shower. Curry, the night manager showed up w/i the half-hour. He gave us a room upgrade. He carried our baggage back to his car, and lead us back the main buildings where we checked in. He lead us up to our room, 411B, in “The Village”. These are the newer high-rises you’ll check-in at. Compared to our “condo”, this was very nice. The second day we came back and our fridge had a bottle of Champagne and card. It was a hand-written letter from the “Village Concierge” once again apologizing for the inconvenience and congratulating us on our nuptials. The resort also comp’d us in two other ways: 1. A $100 credit for any use at the resort, which my wife used at the spa. 2. Food comp’s at the Sea Island Grill (no alcohol), which was also excellent. *** I cannot speak to as how our honeymoon would’ve been if we had not voiced our concerns over “Port O Call – Condominium A102”, but the room upgrade to “The Village” and treatment we received after the room upgrade was nothing less than outstanding and fabulous.*** Pro’s: Imagine a great resort staff, great honeymoon, great resort dining and wait staff. The clothes dryer would barely dry due to a possible stopped-up exhaust pipe. On the last day a small leak developed in the master bedroom ceiling. The beach is very nice and wide, and it was just a little walk from our condo. The drive to Charleston was only 20 minutes and we ran in there each day after the beach for tours and amazing food! Wild Dunes is a wonderful facility. We were upgraded to a beach view when we checked in. The Villa was a bit dated, but very clean and comfortable. It had a screened porch with a total view of the ocean and a resident's board walk to the beach right from the porch. We would go back again any time. There are lots of things to do at Wild Dunes besides […] walks on the beach. They have golf, tennis, bike rentals, restaurants, pools and a few shops. We took advantage of the bike/walking paths that run all through the complex. Depending on what you are looking for, you can stay in condos, town houses, hotel rooms, etc. Great Trip!
