The only negative thing I can say is parking was limited street parking only they do not have a parking lot

After reading reviews on Yelp about the front desk person being rude, I am guessing that they made a change in staffing since we thought that they were very nice and accommodating! My wife and I decided a week before we stayed to take a surprise trip to CA for our daughter and take her American Girl Doll shop at The Groves in LA. We stumbled upon this […] hidden gem and we will stay there again when we visit that area again! Now what is true that I have read is that parking is difficult to find since it is street only parking. The neighborhood is quaint and unique since the hotel sits in a residential area. The hotel location was as close to perfect for what we wanted to do. The Groves is a few short blocks away (that place is amazing too! Since it is a boutique hotel, it is older therefore the floors and stairs do creak quite a bit however was no where near a deal breaker. We stayed in a room with two full size beds on the 2nd floor. One of the beds was comfortable and the 2nd one was like sleeping on a back of large, wide animal...not too comfortable. The daily continential breakfast was average but in a nice cozy area of the hotel. Located 20 minutes away from Santa Monica pier was a nice drive to see other parts of LA on the way. Once you become familiar with the area, there are plenty of shops and cafes located a short driving distance away. The cost is very reasonable when we stayed compared to other big name hotels. I don't care what kind of price you get - stay somewhere else. There is no parking lot or garage. You will be given a hanging tag that will allow you to park next to the curb in one specific city block in front of the hotel. If all of those spots are taken, too bad. This hotel has large rooms and a pleasant foyer with sofas. Large breakfast room. The location, one block off Wilshire Blvd is very close to LACMA and La Brea Tar Pits. The 720 Rapid bus along Wilshire takes you downtown and also to a connection for The Getty Center. Another bus on Farfax gets you to the famous Farmer's Market and The Grove also to […] Canter's Deli. Very pleasant residential area to walk and enjoy the gardens and houses. The accommodation were nice enough for a one night stay. No actual designated parking, you must find a spot on the street in a residential area. We had to have our car off the street by 9:00 am even though check out wasn't until 10:00. They wanted to charge me $15.00 to have my daughter stay with me even though i have had a room with 2 beds because […] it cause more work. So not sure how they clean their rooms, is it just what they think needs changing or cleaned? The sheets and mattress pad had stains and when we asked the employee at the front desk to either change the sheets or let us switch rooms, he quickly changed the sheets... but only the sheets. The big, could-not-miss-it stain on the mattress pad? He just left it. Oh, and the replacement sheets? Also had stains. There was also iron stains on the carpet […] and a foul, dusty odor to the room. Everything about the hotel seemed a little dirty and in need of renovating. We only staying there for one night, so we put up with it and just checked out in the morning. However, if our plan had been to stay there another night, we would have switched hotels. This hotel was perfectly suited for my BA post-surgery stay. The attendants were very kind to provide extra pillows for me. The room was spotless. The location was ideal - close enough to all the Beverly Hills haunts, but not next to any noisy clubs/bars.

The location is nice. The room was dark, the view was a dirty unused tiny section of a yard showing vegetation filled with cobwebs and dust. The shower head was positioned for small people. The parking is horrendous and compromises any positive aspect of the stay.

Reviews are so subjective, depending in your needs, age, expectations etc. We are a couple in our 30's, and needed a decent place to stay for a night that didn't need to be very high end or fancy. It was only for the night after all. We did not want to be in downtown LA, we liked that we were closer to Beverly Hills and West Hollywood. So for the price […] it was a decent hotel. It is an older building, so the hallways and floors creak and it could be updated a bit, but it was fine for the night, and location was easy if you have a car and want to get around quickly. I've found that people in Cali don't tend to greet you first as you walk in door, so I didn't take offence of this. Stayed at the hotel while visiting Los Angeles to see American Idol. The hotel is close to the Farmer's Market,The Grove, and CBS sudio. The neighborhood is very nice and close to all attractions. Well priced, for LA. I love the location, feels more like living in a neighborhood and not some tourist ghetto. While parking can be an issue, the deal they have with Wells Fargo works and the staff will even move your car in the morning so you don't have to. The Mediterranean restaurant up a block on Wilshire has fantastic felafels and babba-gounish […] (sp?). Canter's deli is only a couple of miles away. Almost like a very large B&B. Staff freindly and courteous. We didn't have a car so lack of parking was not an issue. Walls are paper thin. we had a 2nd floor room at the end of the upper corridor next to an open staircase and the night clerk was having an extended conversation with someone that carried up to our room loud & clear at 2:00am!!! This is an older hotel, 1947 I believe, in a great location (Fairfax & Wilshire). The rooms are clean and quiet and look to have been remodeled in last few years. The only bad thing is only street parking on a residential street. Hard to find a parking place if you come in late.

Free parking is on the street. We could not find a spot so the staff took our keys and found parking then moved our car in front of the hotel in the morning when spots opened. They were so kind and helpful. I would stay here again. Great value for the money!

No parking at this hotel; you must park on street which is not easy to find late at night in this urban area. Hotel itself is old with narrow hallways and thin walls and doors. This allows for noise transmission of all types whether its your neighbor next door, the guests walking down the hall or on the floor above.
