Multimillion-dollar mansions flank Beverly Hills’ palm-lined streets. Lifestyles of the rich and famous are on full view on Rodeo Drive’s boutiques, from Armani to Zegna. Not coincidentally, the Melrose District east of Beverly Hills has excellent secondhand shops. Many up-and-coming design studios are based in Melrose. Nearby, West Hollywood, or WeHo, is the epicenter of Los Angeles gay life.

"Wow! What a great place!"
After reading reviews on Yelp about the front desk person being rude, I am guessing that they made a change in staffing since we thought that they were very nice and accommodating! My wife and I decided a week before we stayed to take a surprise trip to CA for our daughter and take her American Girl Doll shop at The Groves in LA. We stumbled upon this […] hidden gem and we will stay there again when we visit that area again! Now what is true that I have read is that parking is difficult to find since it is street only parking. The neighborhood is quaint and unique since the hotel sits in a residential area. The hotel location was as close to perfect for what we wanted to do. The Groves is a few short blocks away (that place is amazing too! Since it is a boutique hotel, it is older therefore the floors and stairs do creak quite a bit however was no where near a deal breaker. We stayed in a room with two full size beds on the 2nd floor. One of the beds was comfortable and the 2nd one was like sleeping on a back of large, wide animal...not too comfortable. The daily continential breakfast was average but in a nice cozy area of the hotel. Located 20 minutes away from Santa Monica pier was a nice drive to see other parts of LA on the way. Once you become familiar with the area, there are plenty of shops and cafes located a short driving distance away. The cost is very reasonable when we stayed compared to other big name hotels. "No parking, no shampoo, no hair dryter"
I don't care what kind of price you get - stay somewhere else. There is no parking lot or garage. You will be given a hanging tag that will allow you to park next to the curb in one specific city block in front of the hotel. If all of those spots are taken, too bad. Go park illegally somewhere else. Housekeeping never left a small shampoo, and there […] are no hair dryers in the room. A dumpy little dive that wouldn't last a month anywhere except in Los Angeles. "Good value in a good location"
This hotel has large rooms and a pleasant foyer with sofas. Large breakfast room. The location, one block off Wilshire Blvd is very close to LACMA and La Brea Tar Pits. The 720 Rapid bus along Wilshire takes you downtown and also to a connection for The Getty Center. Another bus on Farfax gets you to the famous Farmer's Market and The Grove also to […] Canter's Deli. Very pleasant residential area to walk and enjoy the gardens and houses. This is not a "full service" hotel but is very adequate and we would stay there again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Charming, Quiet, Comfortable"
Charming older hotel in excellent location in Miracle Mile, within walking distance to LA County Museum of Art and others. Quiet, comfortable room; we had no difficulty parking right in front of the hotel with our parking permit. Broken faucets in one sink, broken coffee pot, and difficult closet doors detracted from an otherwise nice experience. Some […] routine maintenance would go a long way toward making this small hotel a five-star experience for travelers worn out by large, indifferent venues. We were disappointed to find Wilshire Blvd. in that area more rundown than we expected, although the museums in the next block more than made up for that sense of desertion. "Comfortable small hotel; nice service"
The hotel was good and good for the money based on prices I have paid for other hotels (chain) in the area - and of course more upscale ones that I have not found available for this price. It had everything I needed for the one night that I booked. The remote features for the TV did not all work and the walls were thin. A potential big problem for me. […] But other than that, it was a good night's stay. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Great small hotel"
Loved it. The hotel was charming, clean, and comfortable with very nice front area and continental breakfast. Only drawback was we had to get a hair dryer from the front desk as none were in the room. Besides that, the room had every important amenity and really comfortable double beds. Located about 2 blocks brom the LA County Museum of Art and about […] six blocks from the Fairfax Farmers Market and The Grove shopping center. Would absolutely stay there again without hesitation. "Not so good time"
Very rude service, man at the front desk was extremely rude. He would not give me any ice when I asked for some. For what I paid for the room I would expect a friendly person at the front desk. I will never stay there again. No parking outside either.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Customer service"
The accommodation were nice enough for a one night stay. No actual designated parking, you must find a spot on the street in a residential area. We had to have our car off the street by 9:00 am even though check out wasn't until 10:00. They wanted to charge me $15.00 to have my daughter stay with me even though i have had a room with 2 beds because […] it cause more work. So not sure how they clean their rooms, is it just what they think needs changing or cleaned? I asked for a room near an elevator or close to the door because I use a walker and they wanted to put me on the 2nd story and they have no elevators. Will not stay again. Overall the room was very nice: spacious, clean, comfortable. The only problem was with the windows, they didn't keep out much noise so it was a little difficult to fall asleep, however, I would stay there again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Amazing Deal!"
I stayed here on a Friday night and, I have to say, it is a steal. The staff is very courteous, it's in a great neighborhood, and, for the price, you get a wonderfully comfortable and clean room/property. The issue others have had (with parking) I did not have as one can park on the street without regulations from Friday night at 6 p.m. onward. Still, […] there are other places to park the car - Cedar Sinai, for example, is close and you can get a weekly pass for $30! I would and will definitely stay here again! "Stains, Smells, and other reasons not to stay here"
The sheets and mattress pad had stains and when we asked the employee at the front desk to either change the sheets or let us switch rooms, he quickly changed the sheets... but only the sheets. The big, could-not-miss-it stain on the mattress pad? He just left it. Oh, and the replacement sheets? Also had stains. There was also iron stains on the carpet […] and a foul, dusty odor to the room. Everything about the hotel seemed a little dirty and in need of renovating. We only staying there for one night, so we put up with it and just checked out in the morning. However, if our plan had been to stay there another night, we would have switched hotels. This hotel is not unlivable, but there are far better options in LA. Do not bother staying here. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Quiet Hotel for BA Recovery"
This hotel was perfectly suited for my BA post-surgery stay. The attendants were very kind to provide extra pillows for me. The room was spotless. The location was ideal - close enough to all the Beverly Hills haunts, but not next to any noisy clubs/bars.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great value for Beverly Hills"
Clean spacious rooms and excellent quiet location. Definitely a great value for expensive Beverly Hills. Rooms had large comfortable beds with a small fridge and flat screen cable TV. "Unreasonable parking"
The location is nice. The room was dark, the view was a dirty unused tiny section of a yard showing vegetation filled with cobwebs and dust. The shower head was positioned for small people. The parking is horrendous and compromises any positive aspect of the stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"A Pleasant Hotel Experience"
An older, but pleasant, hotel located within a neighborhood along Miracle Mile. The owners/staff were very friendly, the common areas are extremely nice, and the televisions have a full cable selection. Everything was nice untill it came time to go to bed and the people upstairs every time they walked we could hear them. And then in the morning at 8 am the maids sat outside of our room and talked and laughed.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Reviews are so subjective, depending in your needs, age, expectations etc. We are a couple in our 30's, and needed a decent place to stay for a night that didn't need to be very high end or fancy. It was only for the night after all. We did not want to be in downtown LA, we liked that we were closer to Beverly Hills and West Hollywood. So for the price […] it was a decent hotel. It is an older building, so the hallways and floors creak and it could be updated a bit, but it was fine for the night, and location was easy if you have a car and want to get around quickly. I've found that people in Cali don't tend to greet you first as you walk in door, so I didn't take offence of this. If you are in town for weekend, you must go to the melrose/Fairfax flea market on Fairfax high school grounds. Great stuff, live band playing and great food vendors! "American idol Trip"
Stayed at the hotel while visiting Los Angeles to see American Idol. The hotel is close to the Farmer's Market,The Grove, and CBS sudio. The neighborhood is very nice and close to all attractions. Parking on the street was limited but we did not have any problem. The hotel provided a parking permit for us.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Convenient to the Miracle Mile."
The hotel staff were very nice. The parking for the hotel is difficult due to being restricted to on street parking or parking at night down the street at a business that is not open.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"my new fave in LA"
Well priced, for LA. I love the location, feels more like living in a neighborhood and not some tourist ghetto. While parking can be an issue, the deal they have with Wells Fargo works and the staff will even move your car in the morning so you don't have to. The Mediterranean restaurant up a block on Wilshire has fantastic felafels and babba-gounish […] (sp?). Canter's deli is only a couple of miles away. Easy non-freeway access to Beverly Hills, WeHo, The Getty, and even downtown. Staying here totally changed how I view LA, very positively. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Quite satisfied"
Very comfortable and a nice break from the cookie-cutter hotel rooms, although I have been a satisfied Marriott customer for 25 years. Felt homey. Others have commented on the parking and I was concerned going in. Turned out to be not too bad.. During the day there is no problem with street parking. After 6 there was nothing. However, the hotel has […] made arrangements for a bank parking lot catty-corner for use until 8:30 in the morning. Except for trying to cross the street during rush hour, it was a functional way to solve a disfunctional problem. The appointments in the rooms were modern and inviting, including the bathroom. The television lineup was inadequate. Couldn't find a channel to watch Stanley Cup hockey, not even the local team (Kings). I found that to be the biggest negative. I'd stay there again. "Considering it's Beverly Hills"
Almost like a very large B&B. Staff freindly and courteous. We didn't have a car so lack of parking was not an issue. Walls are paper thin. we had a 2nd floor room at the end of the upper corridor next to an open staircase and the night clerk was having an extended conversation with someone that carried up to our room loud & clear at 2:00am!!! Also […] had to call twice because our toilet was not flushing. Went out to our appointments & came back to find the toilet flushing and a plunger!! Next morning touilet was not flushing. Left it for the maid and told the desk again. door security (locks) were what I would expect in the 1950's, very flimsy. Dis nnot feel secure leaving my camera or laptop. "Museum District"
This is an older hotel, 1947 I believe, in a great location (Fairfax & Wilshire). The rooms are clean and quiet and look to have been remodeled in last few years. The only bad thing is only street parking on a residential street. Hard to find a parking place if you come in late.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great price. Free parking!"
Free parking is on the street. We could not find a spot so the staff took our keys and found parking then moved our car in front of the hotel in the morning when spots opened. They were so kind and helpful. I would stay here again. Great value for the money!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Where is the parking?"
No parking at this hotel; you must park on street which is not easy to find late at night in this urban area. Hotel itself is old with narrow hallways and thin walls and doors. This allows for noise transmission of all types whether its your neighbor next door, the guests walking down the hall or on the floor above.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
